1	자기소개와 인사 바울입니다. 하나님의 뜻을 따라 된, 그리스도 예수님의 사도입니다. 에페수스에 있는 성도들이요, 그리스도 예수님을 믿는 분들에게 이 편지를 보냅니다.	Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2	은혜와 평화가 여러분에게, 하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도께로부터 내리기를 빕니다!	Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3	그리스도 안에서 주신 은혜와 복 찬양받으시기를 빕니다, 하나님이시요, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지께서는! 그분은 그리스도 안에서 하늘에 속한 온갖 영적인 복으로 우리에게 복 주시는 분이십니다.	Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4	그분 하나님이 세상의 기초를 놓으시기 전에 그리스도 안에서 우리를 선택하셨으니 말입니다. 우리가 그분 앞에서 거룩하고 흠잡힐 데 없게 하시려고요, 사랑 안에서!	According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5	하나님은 미리 정하시기를, 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리를 하나님의 자녀로 삼기로 하신 것입니다. 하나님이 기뻐하시는 뜻에 따른 것이지요.	Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6	우리가 하나님의 은혜의 영광을 찬양하도록 하시기 위해서였습니다. 그 은혜는 사랑하시는 아들 안에서 우리에게 그냥 베푸신 것입니다.	To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7	우리는 그 아들 안에서 그 아들의 피를 통하여 죄에서 완전히 풀어 주심, 곧 잘못들의 용서를 누리고 있습니다. 하나님의 풍성한 은혜를 따른 것이지요.	In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8	그 은혜를 하나님은 우리에게 넘쳐 나게 주셨습니다. 온갖 지혜와 슬기를 주셨습니다.	Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9	우리에게 하나님의 뜻의 비밀을 알려 주셨습니다. 하나님이 기뻐하시는 목적에 따른 것이지요. 그 목적은 그리스도 안에서 미리 정해 두신 것입니다.	Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10	때가 차면 자신의 계획을 이루시려고요. 그 계획은 그리스도를 머리로 하여 모든 것들을 그리스도 안에서 하나로 합치시는 것입니다. 곧 하늘에 있는 것들과 땅에 있는 모든 것들을요.	That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11	우리도 그리스도 안에서 상속을 받게 되었습니다. 그렇게 미리 정해져 있었습니다. 자신의 뜻하신 목적에 따라 모든 것을 움직이시는 하나님이 미리 정해 두신 대로이지요.	In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12	이것은 앞서 그리스도께 희망을 걸었던 우리가 하나님의 영광을 찬양하는 사람들이 되게 하시기 위해서였습니다.	That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13	여러분 자신들도 그리스도 안에서 진리의 말씀, 곧 여러분의 구원을 위한 복음을 들었습니다. 또한 여러분이 그분을 믿었을 때에, 하나님은 여러분에게 확인 도장을 찍어 주셨습니다. 약속하신 성령님을 보내심으로써요.	In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14	성령님은 우리가 물려받을 상속에 대한 보증이십니다. 마침내 우리가 죄에서 완전히 풀려나서 하나님의 소유가 되고, 또 하나님의 영광을 찬양하게 될 때까지 말입니다.	Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15	바울의 기도 이 때문에, 나 자신도 주 예수님에 대한 여러분의 믿음과 모든 성도에 대한 사랑을 듣고서,	Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16	내가 기도할 때마다 기억하면서 여러분을 두고 감사드리는 것을 멈추지 않고 있습니다.	Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17	그 기도는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 곧 영광의 아버지께서 여러분에게 지혜의 영과 계시의 영을 주시기를 비는 것입니다. 그래서 여러분이 하나님을 알아 가게 해 달라는 것입니다.	That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18	또 그 기도는 하나님이 여러분의 마음 눈을 밝게 해 주셔서 여러분이 알게 되기를 비는 것입니다. 하나님의 부르심이 갖게 하는 그 희망이 무엇이며, 성도들에게 하나님이 물려주실 상속의 영광이 얼마나 풍성한지 말입니다.	The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19	또 그 기도는 믿는 우리한테 나타내신 하나님의 능력이 얼마나 엄청나게 크냐 하는 것을 여러분이 알게 해 달라는 것입니다. 그 능력은 하나님이 막강한 힘으로 활동하셔서 나타내신 것이지요.	And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20	그 힘이 그리스도 안에서 작용하게 하셔서, 그분을 죽은 사람들 가운데서 일으켜 살리시고, 하늘에서 하나님 오른쪽에 앉히셨습니다.	Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21	그분을 아주 높이 두신 것이지요. 모든 지배권과 권력과 세력과 통치권 위에, 그리고 이 세대뿐만 아니라 장차 올 세대에서도 일컬어질 모든 이름 위에 말입니다.	Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22	또 모든 것을 하나님은 그리스도의 발아래에 두셨습니다. 그리고 그분을 모든 것 위의 머리로 삼으셔서 교회에 주셨습니다.	And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23	교회는 그리스도의 몸입니다. 곧 모든 것 가운데 모든 것을 가득 채우시는 분의 가득함입니다.	Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
