1	미가가 에봇과 집안우상을 만들다 한 사람이 있었다. 에브라임 산지 출신으로 그의 이름은 미가였다.	And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
2	그가 어머니에게 말씀드렸다. “어머니에게서 사라져 버린 은 조각 1,100개 때문에 어머니가 저주하시더군요. 제 귀에 들리도록 말씀도 하시더라고요. 보십시오, 그 은이 저에게 있습니다. 제가 가져갔습니다.” 그의 어머니가 말했다. “복받기 바란다, 얘야, 여호와께!”	And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spakest of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be thou of the Lord, my son.
3	그는 은 조각 1,100개를 어머니에게 돌려드렸다. 어머니가 또 말했다. “이 은 조각은 내가 거룩히 구별하여 여호와께 바치기로 했어. 내가 손대지 않을 거야. 새기기도 하고 녹이기도 해서 내 아들을 위해 우상을 만들도록 바치는 거야. 그러니 이제 너에게 돌려줄게.”	And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.
4	그러나 그는 그 은 조각을 어머니께 돌려드렸다. 어머니는 은 조각 200개를 가지고 가서 기술자에게 주어 새기기도 하고 녹이기도 해서 우상을 만들게 했다. 그 우상은 미가의 집에 있었다.	Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
5	이 사람 미가에게는 신을 모시는 사당이 있었다. 그는 에봇과 집안우상(드라빔)을 만들고, 아들 가운데 한 사람에게 제사장 일을 맡겨서 그가 자신의 제사장이 되게 했다.	And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6	그 시대에 이스라엘에는 임금이 없었다. 사람마다 자기가 보기에 올바른 일을 했다.	In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
7	한 레위 사람이 미가 집 제사장이 되다 한 젊은이가 있었다. 유다 땅 베들레헴 출신으로 유다 가문에 딸린 사람이었다. 그는 레위 사람으로 거기에 나그네로 살고 있었다.	And there was a young man out of Beth–lehem–judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
8	그 사람이 자기 도시인 유다 베들레헴을 떠나, 다니면서 나그네로 머물 곳을 찾고 있었다. 길을 가다가 에브라임 산지에서 마침내 미가의 집에 다다랐다.	And the man departed out of the city from Beth–lehem–judah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
9	미가가 그에게 물었다. “손님은 어디에서 오시나요?” 레위 사람이 그에게 대답했다. “나는 레위 사람으로 유다 베들레헴 사람입니다. 나는 다니면서 나그네로 머물 곳을 찾고 있어요.”	And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Beth–lehem–judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.
10	미가는 그에게 말했다. “우리 집에 머물러 우리 집 어른과 제사장이 되어 주십시오. 손님에게 내가 해마다 열 개의 은 조각, 갖가지 옷을 한 벌, 또 먹을 것을 드리지요.” 그 레위 사람이 들어갔다.	And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy victuals. So the Levite went in.
11	레위 사람은 그 사람의 집에 머물기로 했고, 그 젊은 레위 사람은 그의 아들 가운데 하나처럼 되었다.	And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12	미가는 그 레위 사람에게 제사장 일을 맡겼고, 그 젊은이는 그에게 제사장이 되어 미가의 집에 있었다.	And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
13	미가가 말했다. “이제 나는 압니다. 여호와께서 내게 잘해 주실 것입니다. 레위 사람이 우리 집 제사장이 되었으니까요.”	Then said Micah, Now know I that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
