1	다윗의 마지막 말 다윗의 마지막 말은 이러했다. 이새의 아들 다윗의 말이었다. 높이 세워진 사람, 야곱의 하나님께 기름부음받은 사람의 말이었다. 이스라엘의 노래 잘하는 사람의 말이었다.	Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2	“여호와의 영이 내 안에서 말씀하셨네. 그분 말씀 내 혀에 있네.	The Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
3	이스라엘의 하나님이 말씀하셨네. 나에게 말씀하셨네, 이스라엘의 바위이신 분이. ‘사람을 공의롭게 다스리는 이, 하나님을 두려워하며 다스리는 이,	The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.
4	그는 마치 빛과 같아. 해가 돋는 아침, 구름 없는 아침의 빛. 비 온 다음 반짝이며 땅에서 돋아난 푸른 풀과 같아.’	And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
5	나의 집이 하나님 앞에 정말 그렇지 않은가? 그분이 나와 영원한 언약을 맺어 주셨으니까. 그 안에 모든 것이 가지런히 간직되어 있지. 내가 받은 모든 도움과 내가 좋아하는 모든 것, 그분이 넘쳐 나게 해 주지 않으실까?	Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.
6	못된 사람은 모두 내던진 가시 같아. 사람들이 손으로 잡지 않을 거야.	But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:
7	그들에게 손을 대려는 사람은 쇠와 창 자루를 갖고 있어야 해. 그 자리에서 반드시 불로 태워질 거야.” ()	But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.
8	다윗의 용사들 다윗에게 있었던 용사들의 이름은 이러하다. 요셉밧세벳이라는 다흐그몬 사람이 있었다. 그는 세 용사의 우두머리였다. 창을 휘둘러 단번에 800명을 죽였다.	These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.
9	요셉밧세벳 다음으로는 도도의 아들 아호아 사람 엘르아살이 있었다. 다윗과 함께한 세 용사 가운데 한 사람이었다. 다윗과 엘르아살은 필리스티아 사람들을 얕보았다. 그때 필리스티아 사람들이 전투를 벌이려고 거기에 모여 있었다. 이스라엘 사람들이 올라갔다.	And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
10	엘르아살이 일어나 필리스티아 사람들을 쳐 죽였다. 마침내 그의 손이 지쳐 칼에 달라붙을 지경에 이르렀다. 여호와께서 그날 큰 승리를 거두게 해 주셨다. 병사들은 그를 뒤따라 돌아오면서 기껏해야 물건을 빼앗기만 했다.	He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the Lord wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11	엘르아살 다음은 아게의 아들 하랄 사람 삼마였다. 그때 필리스티아 사람들이 레히로 모였다. 거기에는 붉은콩으로 가득 찬 들판이 있었다. 병사들이 필리스티아 사람들 앞에서 달아났다.	And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines.
12	삼마가 그 들판 한가운데에 꿋꿋이 서서 그 들판을 지켰다. 그리고 필리스티아 사람들을 쳐부수었다. 여호와께서 매우 큰 승리를 거두게 해 주셨다.	But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory.
13	그 30명 가운데 세 사람이 우두머리로서 내려갔다. 곡식을 거둘 때쯤 다윗을 만나러 아둘람 동굴로 간 것이다. 필리스티아 사람들 한 무리가 라바 사람들의 골짜기에 진을 치고 있었다.	And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
14	다윗은 그때 산악 요새에 있었고, 필리스티아 사람들의 초소는 그때 베들레헴에 있었다.	And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth–lehem.
15	다윗이 애타게 말했다. “누가 베들레헴 성문 곁 우물에서 내가 마시도록 물 좀 길어다 줄 수 있겠소?”	And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Beth–lehem, which is by the gate!
16	그러자 세 용사가 필리스티아 사람들의 진영을 뚫고 나아갔다. 베들레헴 성문 곁 우물에서 물을 길어다가 들고 다윗에게 왔다. 그러나 그는 그 물을 마시려 하지 않았다. 그 물을 부어 여호와께 바쳤다.	And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth–lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord.
17	다윗이 말했다. “있을 수 없는 일입니다, 나에게는, 여호와여! 내가 이런 일을 할 수는 없습니다. 목숨 걸고 갔던 사람들의 피 같은 물이 아닙니까?” 그는 그 물을 마시려 하지 않았다. 이와 같은 일들을 한 것이 세 용사였다.	And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18	또 요압의 형제이자 스루야의 아들인 아비새가 있었다. 그는 30명 가운데 우두머리였다. 그가 창을 휘둘러 300명을 죽였다. 그래서 그는 그 세 사람과 함께 이름을 떨쳤다.	And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.
19	그 30명 가운데서 그가 존중받지 않았던가? 그가 그들의 지휘관이 되었으나 앞의 세 용사에게까지는 미치지 못했다.	Was he not most honourable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.
20	또 여호야다의 아들 브나야가 있었다. 용감한 사내로 해낸 일이 많았다. 갑스엘 출신이었다. 그가 모압의 아리엘의 두 아들을 쳐 죽였다. 그가 내려가서, 구덩이 한가운데 있던 사자도 쳐 죽였다. 눈 내리는 날이었다.	And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
21	그는 이집트 사람도 쳐 죽였다. 잘생긴 사내였다. 그 이집트 사람은 손에 창을 들고 있었다. 그렇지만 브나야는 몽둥이를 가지고 그에게로 내려갔다. 이집트 사람의 손에서 창을 빼앗아 그의 창으로 그를 죽였다.	And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22	이런 일들을 한 것이 여호야다의 아들 브나야였다. 그래서 그가 세 용사와 함께 이름을 떨쳤다.	These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.
23	그는 그 30명 가운데서 존중받았다. 그러나 그 세 사람에게까지는 미치지 못했다. 다윗이 그를 자신의 호위병으로 삼았다.	He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.
24	아사헬도 있었다. 그는 요압의 형제로 그 30명 가운데 한 사람이었다. 도도의 아들인 베들레헴의 엘하난도 있었다.	Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth–lehem,
25	하롯 사람 삼마와 하롯 사람 엘리가도 있었다.	Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26	발디 사람 헬레스, 익게스의 아들 드고아 사람 이라도 있었다.	Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27	아나돗 사람 아비에셀과 후사 사람 므분내도 있었다.	Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28	아호아 사람 살몬과 느도바 사람 마하래도 있었다.	Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29	바아나의 아들 느도바 사람 헬렙도 있었다. 리배의 아들 잇대도 있었다. 그는 기브아 출신으로 베냐민의 자손이었다.	Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30	비라돈 사람 브나야와 나할레가아스 출신의 힛대도 있었다.	Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31	아르바 사람 아비알본과 바르훔 사람 아스마웻도 있었다.	Abi–albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32	사알본 사람 엘리아흐바와 야센의 아들들과 요나단도 있었다.	Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33	하랄 사람 삼마와 사랄의 아들 하랄 사람 아히암도 있었다.	Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,
34	아하스배의 아들이자 마아가 사람의 손자인 엘리벨렛도 있었다. 아히도벨의 아들 길로 사람 엘리암도 있었다.	Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35	갈멜 사람 헤스로와 아랍 사람 바아래도 있었다.	Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36	나단의 아들 소바 사람 이갈도 있었다. 갓 사람 바니도 있었다.	Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37	암몬 사람 셀렉도 있었다. 브에롯 사람 나흐래도 있었다. 그는 스루야의 아들 요압의 무기를 들고 따르던 사람이었다.	Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,
38	이델 사람 이라와 이델 사람 가렙도 있었다.	Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,
39	히타이트 사람 우리야도 있었다. 모두 37명이었다.	Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
