1	하나냐와 삽비라가 주님의 영을 시험하다 어떤 남자가 있었는데, 이름은 하나냐였다. 그가 아내 삽비라와 함께 토지를 팔았다.	But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2	그런데 그가 그 판값의 얼마를 따로 떼어 두었다. 그의 아내도 알고 있었다. 그러고는 그가 판값의 일부를 사도들의 발 옆에 가져다 두었다.	And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3	그러자 베드로가 말했다. “하나냐, 무엇 때문에 사탄이 당신의 마음을 가득 채우도록 해서, 성령님을 속이고 땅값의 얼마를 따로 떼어 두었소?	But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4	땅이 팔리기 전에도 당신의 것으로 남아 있었고, 팔린 뒤에도 당신의 권한에 있지 않았소? 당신이 이런 짓을 마음에 품다니 왜 그랬소? 당신이 거짓말한 것은 사람들에게가 아니라 하나님에게요.”	Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5	하나냐가 이런 말을 듣고 있다가 쓰러져 목숨이 끊어졌다. 그러자 이 일을 듣는 모든 사람들에게 큰 두려움이 생겼다.	And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6	한편 젊은이들이 일어나서 그를 싸맸다. 그러고는 밖으로 옮겨다가 묻었다.	And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7	세 시간쯤 지났을 때였다. 하나냐의 아내가 그사이에 일어난 일을 알지 못한 채 들어왔다.	And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8	베드로가 그 여자한테 말을 건넸다. “나에게 말해 보시오. 당신들이 그 땅을 이 값에 팔았소?” 그 여자가 대답했다. “예, 그 값에 팔았습니다.”	And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9	그러자 베드로가 그 여자한테 말했다. “당신들이 한통속이 되어 주님의 영을 시험하다니, 왜 그랬소? 자, 당신의 남편을 묻은 사람들의 발이 문 앞에 있는데, 당신을 밖으로 옮겨 갈 것이오.”	Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10	그러자 그 여자가 곧장 베드로의 발 앞으로 쓰러졌고, 목숨이 끊어졌다. 그 젊은이들이 들어와서 그 여자가 죽은 것을 보고, 밖으로 옮겨다가 그 남편 곁에 묻었다.	Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
11	온 교회와 또 이런 일을 듣는 모든 사람들한테 큰 두려움이 생겼다.	And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12	징표와 놀라운 일들을 하는 사도들 사도들의 손을 통해서 징표와 놀라운 일이 백성 가운데서 많이 일어났다. 그들은 모두 한마음으로 줄기둥과 지붕이 있는 트인 통로, 곧 솔로몬 주랑에 있었다.	And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
13	그 밖의 사람들은 아무도 그들과 어울릴 엄두를 내지 못했다. 그러나 백성은 그들을 대단히 존중했다.	And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14	주님을 믿는 사람들이 점점 더 불어났다. 남자들과 여자들로 이루어진 군중이 여럿이었다.	And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15	아픈 사람들을 큰길로 내어 옮겨다가 작은눕자리와 깔자리에 눕힌 채로 두기까지 할 정도였다. 베드로가 올 때 어쩌면 그 그림자라도 그들 가운데 누군가에게 덮이도록 하려는 것이었다.	Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16	예루살렘 둘레의 여러 도시 사람들도 군중을 이루어 계속 모여들었다. 그들은 아픈 사람들과 또 더러운 영들에게 괴롭힘당하는 사람들을 데려왔는데, 누구든 모두 고침을 받았다.	There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17	사도들을 감옥에서 나오게 하시다 대제사장이 들고일어났다. 그와 함께한 모든 사람들, 곧 사두개파 사람들도 동참했다. 그들은 시샘으로 가득 찼다.	Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,
18	그들은 손을 뻗어 사도들을 붙잡아 공공 감옥에 가두었다.	And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19	그런데 주님의 천사가 밤사이에 감옥 문들을 열어젖히고는 사도들을 이끌고 나가서 말했다.	But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
20	“가세요! 성전에 서서 백성에게 이 생명의 말씀을 죄다 말하세요!”	Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
21	이 말을 듣고서 사도들이 해 뜰 녘에 성전으로 들어가서 가르치기 시작했다. 한편 대제사장과 그와 함께하는 사람들이 이르러 유대아최고의회(공회)와 이스라엘 사람의 전체 원로회를 불러 모았다. 그러고는 가두어 둔 곳에 사람을 보내어 사도들을 끌고 오게 했다.	And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22	아랫사람들이 도착해서 보니 사도들이 감옥에 없었다. 그들이 되돌아와서 보고했다.	But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told,
23	“가두어 둔 곳은 아주 굳게 닫혀 있고, 지키는 사람들도 문 앞에 서 있는 것을 보았습니다. 그런데 문을 열어 보았더니 안에는 아무도 없었습니다.”	Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
24	이런 말을 들었을 때, 성전 치안 책임자와 대제사장들은 사도들 일을 두고 이 일이 어떻게 된 일인지 어리둥절해했다.	Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.
25	어떤 사람이 그들에게 다다라 알렸다. “보십시오, 어르신들께서 감옥에 가두어 두었던 사람들이 성전에 서서 백성을 가르치고 있습니다.”	Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26	그때에 성전 치안 책임자가 아랫사람들과 함께 나가서 사도들을 끌어왔다. 그러나 억지로 그렇게 하지는 못했다. 백성에게 돌로 침을 당할까 봐 백성을 두려워하고 있었던 것이다.	Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
27	베드로와 사도들이 유대아최고의회에서 증언하다 그들이 사도들을 데려와서는 유대아최고의회(공회)에 세웠다. 그러자 대제사장이 사도들에게 따져 물었다.	And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28	이렇게 말했다. “이 이름을 대면서는 가르치지 말라고 너희들에게 단단히 명령하지 않았느냐? 자, 봐라, 너희는 예루살렘을 너희의 가르침으로 가득 채워 놓았다. 너희는 이 사람의 피를 우리한테 덮어씌우려고 한다.”	Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
29	그러나 베드로와 사도들이 대답했다. “사람들보다는 오히려 하나님께 순종해야 합니다.	Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30	우리 조상의 하나님이 예수님을 일으켜 살리셨습니다. 바로 여러분 손으로 나무에 매달아서 죽인 분을요.	The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
31	이분을 하나님이 지도자와 구원자로 높여 하나님 오른쪽에 있게 하셨습니다. 이스라엘이 회개하고 죄 용서를 받게 하시려고 말입니다.	Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
32	바로 우리는 이 일들의 증인들입니다. 하나님이 하나님께 순종하는 사람들에게 주신 성령님도 그러합니다.”	And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
33	사도들을 풀어 주라고 가말리엘이 설득하다 이 말을 들은 사람들은 가슴을 도려낸 듯이 몹시 화가 나서 사도들을 없애 버리고자 했다.	When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
34	그런데 유대아최고의회(공회) 자리에서 어떤 사람이 일어섰다. 그는 바리새파 사람으로 이름은 가말리엘이었다. 율법 선생으로, 온 백성에게 존경받는 사람이었다. 그가 명령하여, 끌려온 이 사람들을 잠깐 동안 밖에 나가 있게 했다.	Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35	그러고는 유대아최고의회(공회) 의원들한테 말했다. “이스라엘 사람들이여, 이 사람들에게 당장 어떻게 할지를 스스로 주의하세요!	And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36	이전에 튜다가 일어나 자기는 위대한 인물이라고 말했습니다. 400명쯤 되는 수의 사람들이 솔깃하여 그에게로 몰려들었지요. 그러나 그가 제거되자, 설득되어 따르던 사람들이 모두 다 흩어졌고 없던 일이 되었습니다.	For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37	이 일이 있은 뒤에 갈릴래아 사람 유다가 일어났습니다. 인구 총조사가 있던 무렵이었습니다. 그가 백성을 부추겨서 자기를 뒤따르게 했습니다. 그러나 그도 역시 죽자, 설득되어 따르던 사람들이 모두 다 뿔뿔이 흩어졌습니다.	After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38	그러므로 현재 일에 대해 여러분에게 말씀드립니다. 이 사람들에게서 물러서세요! 그들을 내버려두세요! 이 계획이나 이 일이 사람한테서 온 것이라면, 망하고 말 것이기 때문입니다.	And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39	그러나 하나님께로부터 온 것이라면, 여러분이 그들을 멈추게 할 수 없을 것입니다. 여러분이 하나님께 맞서 싸우는 사람들로 드러나지 않도록 하세요.” 유대아최고의회(공회) 의원들이 가말리엘에게 설득되었다.	But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40	그래서 그들이 사도들을 가까이 불러서 매질한 뒤에 명령하기를, 예수의 이름을 대면서 말하지 말라고 했다. 그러고는 풀어 주었다.	And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41	그래서 사도들은 유대아최고의회(공회)가 보는 앞에서 기뻐하면서 떠나갔다. 자기들이 그 이름을 위해 모욕받을 만한 가치가 있는 사람으로 여겨졌기 때문이다.	And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42	사도들은 날마다 성전에서 또 집집에서 예수님이 그리스도라고 가르치기와 그 좋은 소식 전하기를 멈추지 않았다.	And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
