1	바르나바와 사울을 따로 세우다 안티오키아에 있는 교회에 여러 예언자와 교사가 있었다. 그들은 바르나바, 니게르라고도 불리는 시므온, 키레네 사람 루키우스, 갈릴래아의 통치자(분봉 왕)인 헤롯과 함께 자란 마나엔, 그리고 사울이었다.	Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2	그들이 주님께 예배드리며 금식하고 있을 때 성령님이 말씀하셨다. “너희는 나를 위해 바르나바와 사울을 따로 세워, 내가 불러서 맡긴 일을 하게 하여라!”	As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3	그때에 그들이 금식하고 기도하고 바르나바와 사울에게 손을 얹어 안수한 뒤에 떠나보냈다.	And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4	바르나바와 사울이 키프로스에서 말씀을 전하다 그렇게 하여 바르나바와 사울이 성령님의 특별한 보내심을 받아 셀레우키아로 내려갔다. 거기서 배를 타고 떠나 키프로스로 갔다.	So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.
5	살라미스에 이르러 하나님의 말씀을 유대아 사람들의 여러 회당에서 널리 전했다. 그들은 요한도 시중꾼으로 데리고 있었다.	And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
6	그들은 섬 전체를 두루 다녀 파포스에 이르러서 어떤 사람과 마주쳤다. 그는 마술사요 거짓 예언자로 유대아 사람이었다. 이름은 바르예수였다.	And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar–jesus:
7	바르예수는 지방 총독인 세르기오 바울과 함께 있었다. 세르기오 바울은 똑똑한 사람이었다. 이 사람이 바르나바와 사울을 가까이 불러서 하나님의 말씀을 들으려고 무척 애를 썼다.	Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
8	그런데 그들을 막아서는 사람이 있었는데, 엘루마라는 마술사였다. 엘루마라는 이름을 번역하여 옮기면 ‘마술사’이다. 그는 그 지방 총독을 돌려세워 믿지 못하게 하려고 애를 썼다.	But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
9	그런데 바울이라고도 하는 사울은 성령으로 가득 차서 엘루마를 뚫어지게 바라보았다.	Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
10	그러고는 바울이 말했다. “아, 온갖 속임수가 가득하고 아무 일이나 가리지 않고 하는 자야! 마귀의 자식아! 모든 정의의 원수야! 주님의 곧은길 굽게 하기를 멈추지 못하겠느냐?	And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
11	이제 봐라! 주님의 손이 너를 칠 것이니, 너는 눈이 멀게 되어 한참 동안 햇빛을 보지 못할 것이다.” 그러자 곧장 엘루마한테 안개와 어둠이 내리 덮쳤다. 그래서 그는 이리저리 더듬어 헤매면서 손을 잡아 이끌어 줄 사람을 찾아다녔다.	And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.
12	그때에 그 지방 총독은 그 일어난 일을 보고서 믿게 되었고, 주님의 가르침에 매우 놀랐다.	Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
13	바울이 피시디아 안티오키아 회당에서 말씀을 전하다 바울 일행은 파포스에서 배로 떠나 팜필리아의 페르가로 갔다. 요한은 그들한테서 떨어져 나가 예루살렘으로 되돌아갔다.	Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.
14	바울 일행은 페르가에서 쭉 나아가서 피시디아의 안티오키아에 이르렀다. 그들은 안식일 날 회당에 들어가서 앉았다.	But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15	율법과 예언자들의 두루마리 책 낭독이 끝난 뒤에 회당 지도자들이 바울 일행한테 사람을 보내어 말했다. “형제 여러분! 백성한테 뭔가 권유할 말씀이 있으시면 말씀해 주십시오.”	And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16	그러자 바울이 일어나서 손짓하여 조용히 만든 뒤에 말했다. “이스라엘 사람들이여, 또 하나님을 두려워하는 사람들이여! 들어 보십시오.	Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.
17	이 백성 이스라엘의 하나님이 우리 조상들을 선택하셨습니다. 그리고 그 백성을 높여 주셨습니다. 이집트 땅에서 몸 붙여 살 때에요. 높이 든 손으로 그들을 그 땅에서 이끌고 나오셨습니다.	The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.
18	그러고는 대략 40년 동안 광야에서 그들의 변덕을 받아 주셨습니다.	And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the wilderness.
19	가나안 땅에서 일곱 민족을 무너뜨려 없애 주시고, 그들의 땅을 물려받아 차지하게 해 주셨습니다.	And when he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot.
20	대략 450년에 걸친 일이었습니다. 그 뒤에 예언자 사무엘 때까지 재판관(사사)들을 주셨습니다.	And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet.
21	그때부터 그들이 임금을 달라고 요구했고, 그들에게 하나님이 사울을 주셨습니다. 그는 기스의 아들이고, 베냐민 지파 사람이었습니다. 사울이 40년 동안 다스렸습니다.	And afterward they desired a king: and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years.
22	그러고 나서 사울을 끌어내리시고 그들을 위해 다윗을 일으켜 임금으로 세우셨습니다. 다윗을 칭찬하는 말씀도 하셨습니다. ‘내가 찾아냈다, 다윗을, 이새의 아들을. 내 마음과 같은 마음을 가진 사람이다. 그가 내 뜻을 모두 실행할 것이다.’	And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.
23	이 사람의 씨에서, 약속하신 대로 하나님이 이스라엘에게 구원자 예수님을 데려오셨습니다.	Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:
24	요한은 예수님이 등장하시기 전에 앞서서 회개의 세례를 이스라엘 백성 모두에게 선포했습니다.	When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25	요한이 달려갈 길을 다 마쳐 가고 있을 때에 말했습니다. ‘여러분은 나를 뭐라고 생각하십니까? 나 자신은 여러분이 생각하는 그런 사람이 아닙니다. 보십시오, 내 뒤에 오시는 분이 계신데, 나는 그분의 샌들끈을 풀어 드리기에도 부족한 사람입니다.’	And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
26	형제자매 여러분! 아브라함 혈통의 자손들, 그리고 여러분 가운데 하나님을 두려워하는 분들 여러분! 우리에게 이 구원의 말씀을 하나님이 보내 주셨습니다.	Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.
27	예루살렘에 자리 잡고 사는 사람들과 그들의 지도자들이 이분을 깨닫지 못했습니다. 매번 안식일마다 낭독되는 예언자들의 목소리도 깨닫지 못했습니다. 그래서 이분을 죄 있다고 판단해서 결국 예언서의 말씀들이 이루어지게 했습니다.	For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
28	사형 판결을 내릴 까닭을 전혀 찾지 못했지만 빌라도에게 요구해서 예수님을 없애 달라고 했습니다.	And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
29	예수님을 두고 적혀 있는 일들을 모두 끝냈을 때, 그들은 예수님 시신을 나무에서 끌어 내려 무덤에 안장했습니다.	And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.
30	그런데 하나님이 그분을 죽은 사람들 가운데서 일으켜 살리셨습니다.	But God raised him from the dead:
31	그분이 갈릴래아에서 예루살렘으로 자신과 함께 올라온 사람들에게 꽤 여러 날 동안 나타나 보이셨습니다. 이제 그들이 다 백성 앞에서 예수님의 증인들입니다.	And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.
32	우리 자신들도 여러분에게 좋은 소식으로 전하고 있습니다. 하나님이 조상들한테 하신 약속을요.	And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33	이 약속을 하나님이 그들의 자손인 우리에게 제대로 이루어지게 해 주셨습니다. 예수님을 일으켜 살리심으로써요. 시편 2장에도 적혀 있는 대로입니다. ‘내 아들이야, 너는! 바로 내가 오늘 너를 낳았어.’	God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
34	죽은 사람들 가운데서 그를 일으켜 살리셔서 다시는 썩는 자리로 되돌아가지 않게 하셨습니다. 이를 두고 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘내가 너희에게 주리라, 다윗에게 약속한 한결같고 믿을 만한 복들을.’	And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35	그래서 시편의 다른 장에서도 말씀하십니다. ‘주님이 허용해 주지 않으실 것이다, 주님께 거룩한 사람이 썩음을 겪도록은.’	Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36	다윗은 자기 세대에 하나님의 뜻을 받들어 시중든 뒤에 잠들었습니다. 그리고 자기 조상들 곁에 안장되어 썩음을 겪었습니다.	For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37	그런데 하나님이 예수님을 일으켜 살리셨고, 예수님은 썩음을 겪지 않으셨습니다.	But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38	그러므로 여러분은 아시기 바랍니다, 형제자매 여러분! 이 예수님을 통해서 여러분에게 죄 용서가 널리 알려지고 있습니다. 모든 죄로부터의 용서가요. 모세의 율법으로는 여러분이 그 모든 죄로부터 의롭다고 인정받을 수 없었습니다.	Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39	이 예수님 덕분에, 믿는 사람은 모두 의롭다고 인정받게 됩니다.	And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
40	그러므로 조심하십시오! 예언자들을 통해 이렇게 말씀하신 것이 닥쳐오지 않도록 하십시오.	Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;
41	‘보아라, 깔보는 사람들아! 놀라고 사라져라! 너희의 시대에 내가 한 가지 일을 할 텐데, 그 일을 누가 너희에게 자세히 이야기해 주더라도 너희는 전혀 믿지 않을 것이다.’”	Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.
42	그들이 밖으로 나갈 때에 사람들이 간청하기를, 다음 안식일에도 이런 말씀을 해 달라고 했다.	And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43	회당 모임이 끝나자 많은 사람들이 바울과 바르나바를 따라갔다. 그 가운데는 유대아 사람들도 있고, 유대교로 넘어와 하나님을 받들어 섬기는 사람들도 있었다. 바울과 바르나바는 그들에게 말을 건네며 북돋아 주기를, 하나님의 은혜에 계속 머물러 있으라고 했다.	Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44	유대아 사람들이 받아들이지 않자 다른 민족들에게로 가다 다음 안식일에 거의 온 도시가 주님의 말씀을 들으려고 함께 모였다.	And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
45	유대아 사람들은 무리들을 보고서 시샘으로 가득 찼다. 그래서 그들은 바울이 말한 것들을 반박하면서 헐뜯는 말을 해 댔다.	But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
46	그러나 바울과 바르나바는 거리낌 없이 말했다. “반드시 여러분에게 먼저 하나님의 말씀을 전해야 했습니다. 그러나 여러분이 그것을 밀쳐 내 버리고 스스로를 영원한 생명을 얻기에 알맞지 않다고 판단하고 있습니다. 그래서, 보세요, 우리는 돌아서서 다른 민족들한테로 갑니다.	Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
47	주님이 우리에게 이렇게 명령하셨으니까요. ‘내가 너를 다른 민족들의 빛으로 삼아, 네가 땅끝까지 구원이 되도록 했다.’”	For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.
48	다른 민족들은 이런 말을 듣자 기뻐했고, 주님의 말씀을 찬양했다. 영원한 생명에 이르도록 정해진 사람들은 다 믿게 되었다.	And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
49	주님의 말씀이 온 지역에 두루 퍼져 나갔다.	And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50	그러나 유대아 사람들이, 하나님을 받들어 섬기는 귀부인들과 그 도시의 유력 인사들을 부추겨 바울과 바르나바를 거슬러 박해하도록 했다. 그러고는 그들을 자기들 지역 밖으로 내쫓았다.	But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.
51	바울과 바르나바는 발의 먼지를 그들 앞에 떨어내 버리고는 이고니온으로 갔다.	But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.
52	제자들은 기쁨과 성령으로 가득 차 있었다.	And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
