1	베드로가 예루살렘 교회에서 자기를 변호하다 사도들과 또 유대아 지역에 퍼져 있는 형제자매들이, 다른 민족들도 하나님의 말씀을 받아들였다는 소식을 들었다.	And the apostles and brethren that were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
2	베드로가 예루살렘에 올라갔을 때, 할례받은 사람들이 베드로한테 그 일을 문제 삼았다.	And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
3	그들이 말했다. “당신은 할례받지 않은 사람들한테로 들어가서 그들과 함께 먹었다지요.”	Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
4	그러자 베드로가 처음부터 시작해서 차근차근 그들에게 설명했다.	But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
5	“나는, 욥바라는 도시에서 기도하고 있었습니다. 그런데 무아지경에 빠져 환상을 보았습니다. 큰 보자기 같은 어떤 물건이 내려오는데, 네 귀퉁이가 매달려서 하늘로부터 달아 내려지고 있었어요. 그리고 그것이 내가 있는 데까지 내려왔습니다.	I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
6	그 안으로 시선을 고정하고 자세히 살펴보았지요. 내가 본 것은 땅의 네발짐승들과 산짐승들과 기어다니는 짐승들과 하늘의 새들이었습니다.	Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
7	그런데 나에게 이렇게 말하는 소리도 들었습니다. ‘일어나라, 베드로야! 잡아서 먹어라!’	And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
8	나는 말했습니다. ‘절대로 그럴 수 없습니다, 주님! 구별되지 않거나 깨끗하지 않은 것은 어떤 것도 제 입에 들어간 적이 없기 때문입니다.’	But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
9	그러자 대답하는 소리가 두 번째로 하늘로부터 났습니다. ‘하나님이 깨끗하게 하신 것을 네가 나서서 구별되지 않은 것으로 만들지 마라!’	But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
10	이런 일이 세 번 있었지요. 그러고는 그 모든 것이 다시 하늘로 끌려 올라갔습니다.	And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11	그런데 보세요, 곧이어 세 사람이 내가 머물고 있던 집에 불쑥 나타났습니다. 카이사레아에서 나한테 보낸 사람들이었습니다.	And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea unto me.
12	성령님이 나에게 말씀하시기를, 아무것도 의심하지 말고 그들과 함께 가라고 하셨습니다. 이 여섯 명의 형제들도 나와 함께 갔고, 그리하여 우리가 그 사람의 집에 들어갔습니다.	And the spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:
13	그가 우리에게 알려 주기를, 자기 집에서 천사를 보았는데 그 천사가 서서 말했답니다. ‘욥바에 사람을 보내어 베드로라고도 불리는 시몬을 모셔 오세요.	And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
14	그가 그대한테 말씀을 전해 줄 겁니다. 그 말씀으로 그대 자신은 물론 그대의 온 집이 구원받을 그런 말씀을요.’	Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
15	그래서 내가 말하기 시작했을 때 성령님이 그들 위에 내려오셨어요. 처음에 우리 위에도 내려오셨던 것처럼 말입니다.	And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16	그때 나에게 주님의 말씀이 떠올랐습니다. ‘요한은 물로 세례를 주었지만, 너희 자신은 성령으로 세례를 받을 것이다.’ 하신 말씀이 말입니다.	Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
17	그러므로 똑같은 선물을 그들에게도 하나님이 주신 겁니다. 주 예수 그리스도를 믿은 우리에게와 마찬가지로요. 그렇다면 내가 뭐라고 하나님을 막을 수 있겠습니까?”	Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18	이런 말을 듣고서 그들은 아무런 대꾸도 하지 않았고, 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 말했다. “그렇다면 이제 하나님이 다른 민족들에게도 생명에 이르게 하는 회개를 주셨군요!”	When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
19	안티오키아에 교회가 생겨나다 스테판 일을 계기로 생겨난 핍박 때문에 뿔뿔이 흩어진 사람들이 이제 페니키아와 키프로스와 안티오키아까지 퍼져 나갔다. 그들은 오직 유대아 사람들 말고는 아무에게도 말씀을 전하지 않았다.	Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
20	그런데 그들 가운데 어떤 사람들은 키프로스와 키레네 출신이었다. 그들은 안티오키아에 와서, 그리스말을 쓰는 사람들한테도 주 예수님을 좋은 소식으로 전하고 있었다.	And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
21	주님의 손이 그들과 함께했다. 그래서 많은 수의 사람들이 믿고 주님께로 돌아왔다.	And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
22	이들에 대한 소식이 예루살렘에 있는 교회 사람들의 귀에 들려왔고, 그들은 바르나바를 안티오키아까지 쭉 가도록 내보냈다.	Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
23	바르나바가 거기에 이르러서 하나님의 은혜를 보고 기뻐했다. 그리고 모든 사람을 격려하여, 마음 굳게 먹고 주님 곁에 머물러 있으라고 했다.	Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24	바르나바는 착한 사람이고 성령과 믿음으로 가득 차 있었기 때문이다. 그리하여 꽤 큰 무리가 주님께 더하여졌다.	For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
25	한편 바르나바는 사울을 찾아보려고 타르수스로 떠났다.	Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
26	그를 찾아서 안티오키아로 데려왔다. 그들이 꼬박 1년을 교회에 함께 모여 꽤 큰 무리를 가르치게 되었다. 그리고 처음으로 안티오키아에서 제자들이 그리스도인들이라고 불리게 되었다.	And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
27	안티오키아 교회가 예루살렘 교회에 도움의 손길을 보내다 그즈음에 예루살렘에서 예언자들이 안티오키아로 내려왔다.	And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
28	그들 가운데 하나, 곧 이름이 하가보인 사람이 일어나서 성령님을 힘입어 앞일을 알려 주었다. 온 제국에 큰 기근이 있게 되리라는 것이었다. 그 일은 클라우디우스 시대에 일어났다.	And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cesar.
29	그러자 제자들이 저마다 자기 형편대로, 유대아에 자리 잡고 사는 형제자매들에게 도움의 손길을 보내기로 결정했다.	Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judea:
30	또 그들은 그것을 실행했는데, 바르나바와 사울의 손을 통해서 그것을 장로들한테 보냈다.	Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
