1	무거운 말씀. 이스라엘을 향한 여호와의 말씀. 말라기를 통해 주신 것이다.	The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.
2	이스라엘을 향한 여호와의 사랑 “내가 너희를 사랑한다.” 하고 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다. 그런데 여러분은 말했습니다. “주님이 우리를 사랑하신다는 것이 무엇에서 드러납니까?” (하나님) “에서는 야곱에게 형이 아니냐? ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그런데 나는 야곱을 사랑한다.	I have loved you, saith the Lord. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob,
3	에서는 내가 싫어한다. 나는 그의 산들을 황무지로 만들었고, 그가 나누어 받은 땅은 광야의 자칼들에게 넘겨주었다.”	And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
4	(예언자) 에돔이 이렇게 말한다고 합시다. “우리가 산산조각 났지만, 돌아와서 쑥대밭이 된 곳들을 다시 세울 테야.” 전능하신 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “그들이 세우더라도 내가 허물겠다. 그래서 사람들이 그들을 가리켜 악한 지역이라고 부를 것이다. 여호와께서 영원에 이르도록 꾸짖으시는 백성이라고 부를 것이다.”	Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the Lord of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation for ever.
5	(예언자) 여러분이 두 눈으로 볼 것입니다. 그러고는 여러분이 말할 것입니다. “여호와는 크시구나, 이스라엘 영토 너머에서도!”	And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The Lord will be magnified from the border of Israel.
6	나쁜 제물, 나쁜 제사장 (하나님) “아들은 아버지를, 종은 주인을 받들어 모신다. 내가 아버지라면, 나를 받들어 모시는 것이 어디 있느냐? 내가 주인이라면, 너희가 나를 두려워하는 것이 어디 있느냐? 전능한 여호와가 너희에게 말한다, 나의 이름을 얕보는 제사장들아! 그러나 너희는 말한다. ‘우리가 주님의 이름을 가볍게 본다는 것이 무엇에서 드러납니까?’	A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
7	너희가 더럽혀진 빵을 내 제단 위에 올리는구나. 그러면서 ‘우리가 주님을 더럽혔다는 것이 무엇에서 드러납니까?’라고 말한다. 너희가 ‘여호와의 식탁, 그건 가볍게 보아도 괜찮아.’라고 말하는 데서 드러난다.	Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible.
8	눈이 먼 짐승을 너희가 희생제물로 올린다면 나쁜 일이 아니냐? 저는 짐승이나 병든 짐승을 올린다면 나쁜 일이 아니냐? 그것을 너의 총독에게 갖다 바쳐 보아라! 그가 너를 마음에 들어 하겠느냐? 너의 얼굴을 들게 해 주겠느냐?” (예언자) 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다.	And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts.
9	이제 여러분은 어디 한번 하나님의 노여움을 누그러뜨리도록 기도해 보세요. 그래서 하나님이 우리를 불쌍히 여겨 주시도록요. 그런 제물이 여러분의 손에서 드려졌는데, 하나님이 여러분 가운데 누군가의 얼굴을 들게 해 주시겠습니까? 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다.	And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the Lord of hosts.
10	(하나님) “너희 가운데서라도 누가 성전 문을 닫아 줄 것인가? 그러면 너희가 나의 제단에 불 피우는 헛수고를 하지 않을 텐데. 너희는 나의 마음에 들지 않는다. ― 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다. ― 제물을 받고 싶지 않아, 너희 손에서는!	Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
11	해 돋는 데서부터 해 지는 데까지 나의 이름이 민족들 가운데서 클 것이기 때문이다. 어디서든 나의 이름을 위해 사람들이 향과 깨끗한 예물을 바칠 것이다. 민족들 가운데서 나의 이름이 크기 때문이다. ― 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다. ―	For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.
12	그러나 너희는 그 이름을 더럽히고 있다. 너희가 이렇게 말하기 때문이다. ‘주님의 식탁, 그게 더럽혀졌군. 그런데 그 열매, 그 음식은 가볍게 보아도 괜찮아!’	But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
13	너희가 ‘아, 무엇이 이리도 힘이 드냐!’ 하고 말한다. 그러고는 제단을 향해 마구 화를 낸다. ― 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다. ― 너희가 가져오는 것은 남에게서 빼앗은 짐승이나 저는 짐승이나 병든 짐승이다. 그런 것을 제물로 가져온다. 그것을 내가 너희 손에서 받고 싶어 하겠느냐? ― 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다. ―	Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the Lord.
14	저주받을 것이다, 속이려 드는 사람은! 자신의 짐승 떼 가운데 튼튼한 수컷이 있어서 희생제물을 바치기로 단단히 약속하고서도 상한 짐승을 주님에게 바치는 사람은! 나는 큰 임금이기 때문이다. ― 전능하신 여호와께서 말씀하셨습니다. ― 나의 이름은 민족들 가운데서도 사람들이 두려워한다.”	But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
