1	씨 뿌리는 비유 예수님이 다시 바닷가에서 가르치기 시작하셨다. 그러자 매우 큰 무리가 예수님 곁으로 모여든다. 그래서 예수님이 배에 올라앉아 바다에 계셨다. 무리는 모두 바다 가까이 뭍에 있었다.	And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
2	예수님은 그들에게 많은 것을, 비유들을 들어 가르치셨다. 가르치시는 가운데 예수님이 그들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.	And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
3	“잘 들으세요. 보세요, 씨 뿌리는 사람이 씨를 뿌리러 나갔습니다.	Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4	씨를 뿌리는데, 어떤 것은 길가에 떨어졌습니다. 그러자 새들이 와서 그것을 쪼아 먹어 버렸습니다.	And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5	다른 것은 흙이 별로 없는 돌투성이 밭 위에 떨어졌습니다. 그리고 곧바로 싹이 돋아났습니다. 흙이 깊지 않아서입니다.	And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6	그러나 해가 떠올랐을 때 타들어 갔고, 뿌리가 없어서 말라 버렸습니다.	But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7	또 다른 것은 가시덤불 속에 떨어졌습니다. 그리고 가시덤불이 자라나 숨을 틀어막았습니다. 그래서 열매를 맺지 못했습니다.	And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8	또 다른 것들은 좋은 흙 속에 떨어졌습니다. 그것들은 싹이 나고 자라서 열매를 맺었습니다. 그래서 하나는 30배, 하나는 60배, 하나는 100배나 열매를 맺었습니다.”	And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9	예수님이 또 말씀하셨다. “들을 귀 있는 사람은 들으시기 바랍니다.” (; )	And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10	비유로 말씀하신 까닭을 알려 주시다 예수님이 혼자 계실 때였다. 예수님 둘레에 있던 사람들이 열둘과 함께 그 비유들에 대해 여쭈어보았다.	And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11	예수님이 그들에게 대답하셨다. “여러분에게는 하나님 나라의 비밀이 주어졌어요. 그렇지만 밖에 있는 저 사람들에게는 모든 것이 비유로 전해집니다.	And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12	그래서, 그들이 보고 또 보겠지만 알아보지 못하고, 듣고 또 듣겠지만 깨닫지 못합니다. 그러니까 그들이 돌아와서 용서받지 못합니다.” (; )	That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13	비유의 뜻을 풀어 주시다 그리고 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하신다. “여러분이 이 비유를 이해하지 못하는데, 어떻게 모든 비유를 알아듣겠어요?	And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14	씨 뿌리는 사람이 뿌리는 것은 말씀입니다.	The sower soweth the word.
15	말씀이 길가에 떨어졌다 함은 이런 사람들을 두고 하는 말입니다. 그들이 말씀을 들을 때에, 곧바로 사탄이 와서 그들에게 뿌려 놓은 말씀을 가져가 버립니다.	And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16	말씀이 자갈밭에 떨어졌다 함은 이런 사람들을 두고 하는 말입니다. 그들은 말씀을 들을 때에 곧바로 기쁘게 받아들입니다.	And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17	그런데 속에 뿌리가 없어서 잠시 그럴 뿐이에요. 그 뒤에 그 말씀 때문에 억압이나 뒤쫓김을 당하면 곧바로 걸려 넘어집니다.	And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
18	말씀이 가시덤불 속에 떨어졌다 함은 또 다른 사람들을 두고 하는 말입니다. 이들은 말씀을 들었습니다.	And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19	그렇지만 세상살이 걱정과 재물의 꼬임과 그 밖의 다른 것들에 대한 욕망이 파고들어 와서 그 말씀의 숨을 틀어막아 버립니다. 그래서 열매를 맺지 못합니다.	And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20	말씀이 좋은 흙 위에 떨어졌다 함은 또 다른 사람들을 두고 하는 말입니다. 이 사람들은 말씀을 듣고 받아들여서 열매를 맺습니다. 한 사람은 30배, 한 사람은 60배, 한 사람은 100배나 맺습니다.” ()	And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
21	등잔불 비유 그리고 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “등잔불을 가져와 바가지로 덮어 두거나 침대 밑에 두는 일이 있나요? 등잔대 위에 올려 두지 않나요?	And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22	숨겨 둔 것치고 드러나지 않을 것이 없고, 감추어 둔 것치고 환히 드러나지 않을 것이 없습니다.	For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23	들을 귀가 있다면 들으시기 바랍니다.”	If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24	그리고 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “여러분이 듣고 있는 것을 마음에 새기세요. 여러분이 남에게 갖다 대는 잣대를 여러분에게도 갖다 대실 겁니다. 그리고 더 보태실 겁니다.	And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25	가진 것이 있는 사람에게는 더 주시고, 가진 것이 없는 사람, 그 사람한테서는 있는 것조차 빼앗아 가실 겁니다.”	For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
26	싹이 나서 자라는 씨 비유 그리고 예수님이 말씀하셨다. “하나님 나라는 이런 사람의 경우와 같아요. 어떤 사람이 땅에 씨를 뿌립니다.	And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27	자고 일어나고, 밤이 되고 낮이 됩니다. 그러는 사이에, 씨에서 싹이 나서 자랍니다. 씨 뿌린 사람 자신은 어떻게 된 일인지 알지 못하는데도요.	And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
28	저절로 땅이 곡식을 냅니다. 먼저는 줄기를, 그 뒤에 이삭을, 그 뒤에 이삭에 꽉 찬 낟알을 냅니다.	For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29	곡식이 영글면 곧바로 낫을 댑니다. 거둘 때가 되었기 때문입니다.” (; )	But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
30	겨자씨 비유 그리고 예수님이 말씀하셨다. “하나님 나라를 무엇과 같다 할까요? 무슨 비유를 들어 설명할까요?	And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31	하나님 나라는 겨자씨와 같아요. 겨자씨를 땅에 뿌릴 때에는 땅 위의 어떤 씨보다도 작습니다.	It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32	그러나 씨 뿌린 뒤에는 자라나서 온갖 풀보다 크게 되고 가지들도 크게 뻗습니다. 그래서 하늘의 새들이 그 그늘 아래에 깃들일 수 있게 됩니다.” ()	But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
33	비유를 들어 가르치시다 이처럼 많은 비유를 들어 예수님은 사람들이 알아들을 수 있는 만큼 말씀하셨다.	And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
34	그런데 비유를 들지 않고서는 그들에게 말씀하지 않으셨다. 따로 제자들하고 있을 때에는 모든 것을 풀어 설명해 주셨다. (; )	But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
35	거센 바람을 고요하게 하시다 바로 그날 저녁이 되었을 때 예수님이 제자들에게 말씀하신다. “건너편으로 갑시다.”	And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36	제자들은 무리를 뒤로하고, 예수님을 배에 타고 계신 그대로 모시고 간다. 다른 배들도 따라붙었다.	And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37	이때 거센 바람이 크게 휘몰아친다. 파도가 배 안으로 넘쳐 들어왔다. 이미 배가 물에 잠길 정도였다.	And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38	그런데도 예수님은 배 뒤쪽에서 베개를 베고 주무시고 계셨다. 그래서 제자들이 예수님을 깨우며 소리친다. “선생님, 우리가 죽게 생겼는데, 걱정도 안 되세요?”	And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39	예수님이 깨어 일어나서 바람을 꾸짖으시고 바다에게 소리치셨다. “조용히 해라! 입 다물고 있어라!” 그러자 바람이 잦아들어 매우 고요해졌다.	And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40	예수님이 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “왜 겁을 먹고 있나요? 아직도 믿음이 없나요?”	And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41	제자들은 매우 두려워했고, 자기들끼리 수군거렸다. “누구지, 정말 이분은? 바람도 바다도 순순히 그분 말씀을 듣다니!”	And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
