1	무법자와 주님의 다시 오심 형제자매 여러분, 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 다시 오심과 우리가 그분 앞에 함께 모이는 일을 두고서 여러분에게 부탁합니다.	Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2	여러분은 쉽게 흔들리거나 정신을 못 차린 채 놀라지 마십시오. 누가 영으로나 말로나 우리가 보낸 것으로 꾸민 편지를 통해서나 주님의 날이 와 있다고 하더라도요.	That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3	아무도 어떤 식으로도 여러분을 속여 넘기지 못하게 하십시오. 그날이 오기 전에 믿음을 저버리는 일이 먼저 일어나고, 무법자가 드러날 것입니다. 곧 멸망의 자식이 말입니다.	Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4	그는 하나님께 맞서는 자이며, 신이라 불리거나 신성한 모든 것 위로 스스로를 높이는 자입니다. 그가 하나님의 성전에 들어가 앉아서 스스로를 하나님이라고 내세울 것입니다.	Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5	여러분은 기억하지 못합니까, 내가 여러분 곁에 아직 있을 때 이런 것들을 여러분에게 말해 주곤 했던 것을요?	Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6	그가 자기 때가 되어 드러나기까지, 지금은 그를 막고 있는 세력이 있다는 것을 여러분은 알고 있습니다.	And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7	사실 무법의 비밀이 이미 작동하고 있습니다. 다만 아직 막고 있는 이가 있는데, 거기서 밀려날 때까지는 그렇게 막을 것입니다.	For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8	그가 밀려난 그때에 그 무법자가 드러날 것입니다. 그 무법자를 주 예수님이 그 입의 숨기운으로 제거하실 것입니다. 주님이 오시는 광경의 광채로 없애 버리실 것입니다.	And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9	무법자가 오는 것은 사탄의 활동에 따른 것입니다. 그는 온갖 능력을 내보이며 여러 거짓 징표와 놀라운 일을 해 보일 것입니다.	Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10	온갖 불의한 속임수를 멸망하는 사람들에게 쓸 것입니다. 그들은 진리에 대한 사랑을 받아들이지도 않고, 구원받고자 하지도 않았기 때문입니다.	And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11	이 때문에 하나님이 그들에게 속여 헤매게 하는 세력을 보내셔서 그들이 거짓을 믿게 하십니다.	And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12	진리를 믿지 않고 불의를 좋아한 사람들이 모두 심판받도록 하시려는 것입니다.	That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13	선택하셔서 구원받게 하신 것에 대한 감사 주님께 사랑을 받아 온 형제자매 여러분, 우리는, 여러분에 대해 언제나 하나님께 감사드릴 수밖에 없습니다. 여러분을 하나님이 구원받을 첫 열매로 선택하셨기 때문입니다. 거룩하게 하시는 성령님을 힘입어서 또 진리를 믿어서 구원받도록 말입니다.	But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14	이를 위해 하나님은 우리의 복음을 통해서 여러분을 또한 부르셔서 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 영광을 차지하게 하셨습니다.	Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15	권유와 기도 그러므로, 형제자매 여러분, 굳게 서 있으십시오! 말로든 우리의 편지를 통해서든 여러분이 배운 전통들을 꽉 붙잡고 계십시오!	Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16	우리 주 예수 그리스도께서 친히, 또 하나님 우리 아버지, 곧 우리를 사랑하셔서 영원한 용기와 좋은 희망을 은혜로 주신 분이	Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17	여러분의 마음에 용기를 북돋우셔서 온갖 선한 일과 말에 굳건하게 해 주시기를 빕니다.	Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
