절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	하나님의 뜻을 따라 살라 그러므로, 형제자매 여러분, 끝으로 우리가 주 예수님 안에서 여러분에게 부탁하고 권유합니다. 어떻게 살아야 하며 어떻게 하나님 마음에 들 수 있는지에 대해 여러분이 우리한테서 전해 받은 그대로 하십시오. 여러분이 지금 그렇게 하고 있듯이, 더욱 넘치게 그렇게 하십시오.	Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
2	우리가 주 예수님을 통하여 여러분에게 내려 준 명령이 무엇인지를 여러분이 알고 있으니까요.	For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
3	이것이 하나님의 뜻입니다. 곧 여러분의 거룩함입니다. 여러분이 음란한 짓을 멀리하는 것입니다.	For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
4	여러분이 저마다 자기 몸을 거룩하고 명예롭게 간수할 줄 아는 것입니다.	That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
5	하나님을 알지 못하는 다른 민족 사람들과 달리 욕망에 휘둘리지 않는 것입니다.	Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
6	행실에서 선을 넘어 자기 형제자매를 이용해 먹지 않는 것입니다. 주님은 이 모든 것에 대해 벌하시는 분이기 때문입니다. 우리가 이미 여러분에게 말도 하고 힘껏 증언도 한 대로입니다.	That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
7	하나님이 우리를 부르신 것은 우리가 더러움에 빠져 살도록 하시려는 게 아니라 거룩하게 살도록 하시려는 것이니까요.	For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
8	바로 이런 까닭에 이 부르심을 거절하는 사람은 사람을 거절하는 것이 아니라 하나님을 거절하는 것입니다. 곧 여러분한테 성령을 주시는 하나님을 말입니다.	He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
9	서로 사랑하며 살라 형제자매들 사이의 사랑에 대해서는 여러분에게 써 보낼 필요가 없습니다. 바로 여러분이야말로 서로 사랑하라는 가르침을 하나님한테 직접 받은 분들이니까요.	But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
10	또 온 마케도니아에 있는 모든 형제자매들한테 그것을 실행하고 있으니까요. 그렇지만 형제자매 여러분, 우리가 여러분에게 권유합니다. 더욱 넘치게 그렇게 하십시오.	And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
11	그리고 조용히 지내고, 자기 일을 하고, 여러분 자신의 손으로 일하여 밥벌이하는 것을 명예롭게 생각하십시오. 우리가 여러분에게 지시한 대로 말입니다.	And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
12	그리하여 여러분이 교회 바깥 사람들에 대해 품위 있게 살고, 아무런 모자람이 없도록 하십시오.	That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
13	먼저 죽어 잠든 사람들에 대하여 형제자매 여러분, 우리는 잠자고 있는 사람들에 대해서 여러분이 모르기를 바라지 않습니다. 희망을 갖지 못한 다른 사람들처럼 여러분이 슬픔을 당하지 않도록 말입니다.	But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14	예수님이 죽으셨다가 살아 일어나신 것을 우리는 믿습니다. 그렇다면 이와 같이 하나님이 또한 잠든 사람들도 예수님을 통해서 예수님과 함께 데리고 오실 것입니다.	For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15	이것을 우리가 여러분에게 주님의 말씀에 기초해서 말해 드립니다. 우리 살아 있는 사람들, 곧 주님이 다시 오실 때까지 뒤에 남아 있는 사람들도 잠든 사람들보다 절대 앞서지 못할 것입니다.	For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16	호령과 우두머리 천사의 소리와 하나님의 나팔이 울려 퍼지는 가운데 주님이 친히 하늘로부터 내려오실 것입니다. 그러면 그리스도 안에서 죽은 사람들이 첫 번째로 살아 일어날 것입니다.	For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17	그다음에 우리 살아 있는 사람들, 곧 뒤에 남은 사람들이 그들과 더불어 함께 구름에 싸여 확 끌려 올라갈 것입니다. 그래서 공중에서 주님을 만나 뵙게 될 것입니다. 이렇게 하여 우리가 언제나 주님과 함께 있게 될 것입니다.	Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18	그러므로 여러분은 이런 말로 서로 용기를 북돋아 주십시오.	Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
