1	예수님을 죽일 방법을 찾다 넘는명절(유월절)이라고 하는 누룩없는명절(무교절)이 가까워 오고 있었다.	Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2	대제사장들과 율법학자들이 예수님을 어떻게 없애 버릴지 방법을 찾고 있었다. 그들은 백성을 두려워하고 있었기 때문이다.	And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3	그런데 사탄이 가룟 사람이라고 하는 유다에게 들어갔다. 그는 열둘의 수에 드는 사람이었다.	Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4	유다는 나가서 대제사장들과 성전 치안 책임자들하고 함께 이야기를 나누었다. 그들에게 어떻게 예수님을 넘겨줄지에 대한 것이었다.	And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
5	그들은 기뻐했고, 유다에게 돈을 주기로 뜻을 모았다.	And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6	유다는 선뜻 받아들였다. 그래서 유다는 좋은 기회를 찾아서 무리가 모르게 예수님을 그들에게 넘겨주려고 했다. (; )	And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7	넘는명절을 준비하라고 하시다 누룩없는명절(무교절) 날이 왔다. 넘는명절(유월절)의 양을 잡아야 하는 날이었다.	Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
8	예수님이 베드로와 요한을 보내시며 말씀하셨다. “가서, 우리가 먹도록 우리를 위해 넘는명절(유월절) 음식을 준비하세요.”	And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
9	그들이 예수님께 여쭈었다. “저희가 어디에서 준비하기를 바라십니까?”	And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
10	예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “보세요, 그대들이 도시 안으로 들어가면 어떤 남자가 그대들을 마주하여 올 텐데, 물 항아리를 나르고 있을 겁니다. 그러면 그가 들어가는 집으로 따라 들어가세요.	And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
11	그리고 그 집주인에게 이렇게 말하세요. ‘선생님이 주인장께 묻습니다. 내가 머물 방이 어디 있나요? 거기서 내가 내 제자들과 함께 넘는명절(유월절) 음식을 먹으려고 하는데요.’	And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12	그러면 그 사람은 그대들에게 위층에 있는 큰 방을 보여 줄 텐데, 자리를 깔아 놓았을 겁니다. 거기서 준비하세요.”	And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13	그들이 나가서 보니 예수님이 자기들에게 말씀하신 그대로였다. 그들은 넘는명절(유월절) 음식을 준비했다. (; ; ; )	And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14	열둘과 함께 마지막 저녁을 드시다 그리고 시간이 되자, 예수님이 음식을 드시려고 기대앉으셨다. 사도들도 예수님과 함께 앉았다.	And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15	예수님이 그들한테 말씀하셨다. “내가 고난을 겪기에 앞서 그대들과 함께 이 넘는명절(유월절) 음식 먹기를 간절히 바라고 바랐습니다.	And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16	그대들에게 말합니다. 나는 넘는명절(유월절) 음식을 다시는 절대 먹지 않을 겁니다. 넘는명절(유월절)이 하나님 나라에서 이루어질 때까지는요.”	For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17	그러고는 잔을 받아 들어 감사드리고 나서 예수님이 말씀하셨다. “이것을 받아서 그대들끼리 나누어 마셔요.	And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18	그대들에게 말합니다. 이제부터 나는 포도나무에서 난 것을 절대로 마시지 않을 겁니다. 하나님 나라가 올 때까지는요.”	For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19	또 빵을 들어 감사드리시고 떼어 제자들에게 주셨다. 그러면서 말씀하셨다. “이것은 내 몸입니다. 그대들을 위해서 드려지는 몸입니다. 이 일을 거듭 행하여 나를 기억하세요.”	And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20	잡수신 뒤에 마찬가지로 잔을 들고 말씀하셨다. “이 잔은 내 피로 맺은 새 언약입니다. 그대들을 위해서 쏟는 피입니다.	Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
21	그런데 보세요, 나를 넘겨줄 사람의 손이 나하고 같은 밥상 위에 놓여 있습니다.	But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22	인자는 정해진 대로 갑니다. 그러나 끝장입니다, 인자를 넘겨주는 바로 그 사람은!”	And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
23	그러자 그들은 자기들 가운데 누가 머지않아 이 일을 하게 될 사람인지를 두고 자기네끼리 서로 이러니저러니 하기 시작했다.	And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24	누가 더 높은 사람인지에 대해 말씀하시다 그들 사이에 다툼도 일어났다. 문제는 자기들 가운데서 누가 가장 높다고 생각되느냐 하는 것이었다.	And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
25	예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “다른 민족들의 임금들은 그들의 주인 노릇을 하고, 권력 있는 사람들은 그들에게 좋은 일을 베푸는 사람이라 불립니다.	And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
26	그러나 그대들이야말로 그렇지 않아요. 그대들 가운데서 가장 높은 사람은 오히려 가장 어린 사람처럼, 또 우두머리인 사람은 섬기는 사람처럼 되어야 해요.	But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27	누가 더 높은 사람입니까? 밥상머리에 자리 잡고 앉은 사람입니까, 섬기는 사람입니까? 밥상머리에 자리 잡고 앉은 사람 아닙니까? 그런데 나는, 그대들 가운데서 섬기는 사람으로 있습니다.	For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
28	그런데 그대들은, 내가 유혹받을 때 줄곧 나와 함께 머물렀던 사람들입니다.	Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
29	그래서 나도 그대들에게 나라를 맡깁니다. 나에게 내 아버지께서 맡기신 것처럼요.	And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
30	그대들이 내 나라에서 나와 한 상에서 먹고 마시도록 하려는 겁니다. 그대들은 임금자리에 앉아 이스라엘 열두 지파를 심판하고 다스릴 겁니다.” (; ; )	That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31	베드로가 예수님을 모른다고 할 것이라고 하시다 “시몬, 시몬! 보세요, 사탄이 그대들을 마구 요구했어요. 곡식처럼 까부르려고요.	And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32	그런데 나는 그대를 위해 매달려 기도했어요. 그대의 믿음이 빛을 잃지 않게 해 달라고요. 그러니 그대도 언젠가 돌아선 뒤에는 그대의 형제자매들을 굳게 세우세요.”	But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33	그러자 시몬이 예수님께 말씀드렸다. “주님, 주님과 함께라면 저는 감옥에도 죽는 자리에도 갈 준비가 되어 있습니다.”	And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34	예수님이 말씀하셨다. “그대에게 말합니다, 베드로! 그대는 오늘 닭이 울기 전에 세 번, 나를 안다는 사실을 완전히 잡아뗄 겁니다.”	And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35	이제는 상황이 달라졌다고 제자들에게 말씀하시다 예수님이 제자들에게 물어보셨다. “내가 그대들을 돈주머니와 봇짐과 샌들도 없이 보냈을 때, 그대들에게 뭔가 모자란 게 있었나요?” 제자들이 대답했다. “아무것도 모자라지 않았습니다.”	And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36	예수님이 말씀하셨다. “그러나 이제는 돈주머니 있는 사람은 챙겨 가기 바랍니다. 봇짐도 마찬가지입니다. 칼 없는 사람은 자기 겉옷을 팔아서 칼을 사기 바랍니다.	Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37	그대들에게 말합니다. 성경에 적혀 있는 이 말씀이 반드시 나에게서 이루어져야 합니다. ‘그가 범죄자들과 한통속으로 여겨졌다.’라고 한 말씀이요. 나에 대해 성경에 적혀 있는 것이 그 끝에 다다라 있으니까요.”	For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38	제자들이 말했다. “주님, 보십시오. 칼이 여기에 두 자루 있습니다.” 예수님이 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “이젠 됐습니다!” (; )	And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39	올리브산에서 기도하시다 예수님이 성 밖으로 나가셔서 해 오시던 대로 올리브산으로 가셨다. 제자들도 예수님을 따라갔다.	And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
40	그곳에 이르자 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “기도하세요. 그래서 유혹에 빠져들지 않도록 하세요.”	And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41	그러고는 예수님이 제자들로부터, 돌을 던져 닿을 만한 거리쯤 떨어져서 무릎을 꿇고 기도하셨다.	And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42	이렇게 기도하셨다. “아버지, 바라신다면, 이 잔을 나한테서 치워 주십시오. 그러나 나의 뜻이 아니라 아버지의 뜻이 이루어지기 바랍니다.”	Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43	[그런데 천사가 하늘로부터 예수님께 나타나서 힘을 북돋아 드렸다.	And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44	마음 졸이시면서 예수님은 더욱 힘써 기도하셨다. 예수님의 땀이 핏방울처럼 되어 땅에 떨어지고 있었다.]	And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
45	예수님이 기도하시던 곳에서 일어나서 제자들한테로 와서 보시니, 그들은 마음이 괴로워서 잠들어 있었다.	And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
46	그래서 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “왜들 자고 있나요? 일어나 기도하세요. 그리하여 유혹에 빠져들지 않도록 하세요.” (; ; )	And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
47	예수님이 붙잡히시다 예수님이 아직 말씀하고 계시는데, 보라, 한 무리의 사람들이 들이닥쳤다. 유다라 하는 사람, 곧 열둘 가운데 하나가 그들의 맨 앞에서 왔다. 유다가 예수님께 입을 맞추려고 가까이 다가갔다.	And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48	예수님이 그에게 말씀하셨다. “유다! 입맞춤으로써 인자를 넘겨주는 건가요?”	But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49	예수님 둘레에 있던 사람들이 닥칠 일을 알아차리고서 여쭈었다. “주님, 우리가 칼로 칠까요?”	When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50	그러고는 그들 가운데 어떤 사람 하나가 대제사장의 종을 내리쳐서 그의 오른쪽 귀를 잘라 버렸다.	And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
51	그러자 예수님이 대답하셨다. “멈춰요! 그만둬요!” 그러고는 그 귀를 만져 그 사람을 고쳐 주셨다.	And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52	그러고는 예수님이 자기에게 들이닥친 대제사장들과 성전 치안 책임자들과 원로들한테 말씀하셨다. “강도를 덮치듯이 칼과 몽둥이를 들고 나온 것이오?	Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
53	날마다 내가 당신들과 함께 성전에 있는 동안에 당신들은 나한테 손을 대지 않았소. 그러나 이제는 당신들 시간이오. 어둠의 권력이 설치는 거요.” (, ; , ; , )	When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54	베드로가 거듭 예수님을 모른다고 하다 그들은 예수님을 붙잡아서 끌고 갔다. 그리고 대제사장의 집 안으로 데려갔다. 한편 베드로는 멀찍이 떨어져서 뒤따라가고 있었다.	Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.
55	사람들이 안마당 한가운데에 불을 피워 놓고 함께 앉아 있었다. 베드로는 그들 사이에 앉아 있었다.	And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
56	그런데 어떤 여자종이, 베드로가 불빛을 마주하고 앉아 있는 것을 보았다. 그를 뚫어지게 바라본 뒤에 말했다. “이 사람도 그와 함께 있었어요.”	But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
57	베드로는 아니라고 하면서 말했다. “나는 그를 알지 못해요, 아가씨!”	And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58	잠깐 뒤에 다른 사람이 베드로를 보고서 말했다. “당신도 역시 그들과 한통속이오.” 그러나 베드로는 말했다. “형씨! 나는 아닙니다!”	And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
59	한 시간쯤 지난 뒤에 다른 어떤 사람이 우기며 말했다. “참으로 이 사람도 그와 함께 있었어요. 이 사람도 갈릴래아 사람이거든요.”	And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilean.
60	그러자 베드로가 말했다. “형씨! 당신이 무슨 말을 하는지 알지 못하겠군요!” 그리고 베드로가 아직 말을 하고 있는 동안에 곧장 닭이 울었다.	And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61	주님이 몸을 돌려 베드로를 빤히 들여다보셨다. 그러자 주님께 들었던 말씀이 그대로 베드로에게 떠올랐다. “오늘 닭이 울기 전에 그대는 세 번 나를 완전히 저버릴 겁니다.” 하는 말씀이.	And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62	그래서 베드로는 밖으로 나가 몹시 괴로워하며 울었다. (; )	And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
63	예수님을 놀리고 매질하다 예수님을 붙잡아 두고 있는 사람들이 예수님을 매질하면서 놀려 댔다.	And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
64	그들은 예수님이 못 보시게 가리고서 물어 댔다. “예언자처럼 알아맞혀 봐라! 너를 갈긴 사람이 누구냐?”	And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
65	그들은 예수님을 거슬러 다른 모독적인 말도 많이 해 댔다. (; ; )	And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
66	유대아최고의회에서 심문받으시다 날이 밝았을 때, 백성의 원로회, 곧 대제사장들과 율법학자들이 함께 모였다. 그들은 예수님을 자기들의 유대아최고의회(공회)로 끌고 나갔다.	And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
67	그들이 말했다. “바로 당신이 그리스도란 말이오? 우리에게 말해 보시오.” 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 당신들에게 말해도 당신들은 절대 믿지 않을 것이오.	Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68	내가 물어보아도 당신들은 절대 대답하지 않을 것이오.	And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
69	그러나 이제부터 인자가 전능하신 하나님의 오른쪽에 앉아 있을 것이오.”	Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
70	그러자 모두가 말했다. “그러니까 바로 당신이 하나님의 아들이란 말이오?” 예수님이 그들한테 말씀하셨다. “내가 바로 그라고 당신들 스스로 말하고 있소.”	Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71	그러자 그들은 말했다. “아직도 증언이 더 필요합니까? 우리가 직접 그의 입에서 들었습니다!”	And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
