1	바리새파 사람들과 율법학자들이 투덜거리다 세금업자들과 죄인들이 모두 예수님께 가까이 오고 있었다. 예수님 말씀을 들으려는 것이었다.	Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
2	바리새파 사람들과 율법학자들은 투덜거리며 말했다. “이 사람은 죄인들을 맞아들이고 또 그들과 함께 먹는구나!” () ()	And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
3	세 가지 비유로 대답하시다 / 잃은 양을 찾아내어 기뻐하는 사람 그러자 예수님이 그들한테 이 비유를 말씀하셨다.	And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
4	“당신들 가운데 어떤 사람에게 양 100마리가 있는데, 그 가운데 하나를 잃었다고 합시다. 그러면 99마리를 벌판에 내버려두고, 그 잃은 양을 찾아낼 때까지 그걸 찾아다니지 않습니까?	What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5	찾아내면, 자기 어깨 위로 올려 메고 기뻐합니다.	And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6	그리고 집으로 가서는 친구들과 이웃들을 불러 모아 말합니다. ‘나와 함께 기뻐해 주세요. 잃었던 나의 양을 찾아냈거든요.’ 하고요.	And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7	당신들에게 말합니다. 이와 같이 하늘에서는, 회개할 필요 없는 의인 99명보다 회개하는 죄인 하나를 두고서 기뻐할 것입니다.”	I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
8	잃은 드라크마를 찾아내어 기뻐하는 여자 “또는 어떤 여자에게 드라크마가 열 개 있는데 드라크마 한 개를 잃어버렸다고 합시다. 그러면 등불을 켜고, 집을 깨끗이 쓸며, 마음 써서 찾지 않습니까? 찾아낼 때까지요?	Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
9	찾아내면 친구들과 이웃들을 불러 모아 말합니다. ‘나와 함께 기뻐해 주세요. 잃어버렸던 드라크마를 찾아냈거든요.’ 하고요.	And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
10	당신들에게 말합니다. 이와 같이 하나님의 천사들이 회개하는 죄인 하나를 두고서 기뻐할 것입니다.”	Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
11	잃은 아들을 찾아 기뻐하는 아버지 예수님이 말씀하셨다. “어떤 사람에게 두 아들이 있었어요.	And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12	그 가운데 작은아들이 아버지에게 말씀드렸어요. ‘아버지, 재산 가운데 저한테 떨어질 몫을 주십시오.’ 아버지는 자기가 먹고살 재산을 두 아들에게 나누어 주었어요.	And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13	며칠 지나지 않아 작은아들은 가진 것을 다 모아 먼 지역으로 떠나 버렸어요. 거기서 그는 흥청망청 살면서 자기에게 있는 것을 날려 버렸어요.	And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14	그가 자기에게 있는 것을 다 써 버렸을 때, 바로 그 지역 곳곳에 극심한 기근이 생겼어요. 그는 쪼들리기 시작했어요.	And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15	그는 가서 그 지역의 시민 가운데 한 사람에게 붙어살았어요. 그 사람은 그를 농장으로 보내서 돼지를 치게 했어요.	And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16	그는 돼지들이 먹는 캐럽콩 꼬투리로 배를 채우고 싶은 마음이 굴뚝같았어요. 그러나 그에게 뭐라도 주는 사람이 아무도 없었어요.	And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17	제정신이 돌아오자 그는 말했어요. ‘내 아버지에게는 품꾼들이 그렇게 많아도 먹을 것이 넘쳐 나는데, 나는 여기서 굶주려 죽는구나!	And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18	일어나서 아버지한테 가서 말할 거야. 「아버지, 제가 하늘을 거슬러 아버지 앞에서 죄를 지었습니다.	I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19	더는 아버지의 아들이라 불릴 가치가 없습니다. 저를 품꾼의 하나로 삼아 주십시오.」’	And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20	그러고는 일어나서 자기 아버지한테 갔어요. 아직 그가 멀리 떨어져 있는데, 그의 아버지가 그를 보고 가슴이 아팠어요. 그래서 달려가 아들의 목을 껴안고, 다정하게 입을 맞추었어요.	And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21	그러자 아들이 아버지에게 말했어요. ‘아버지, 제가 하늘을 거슬러 아버지 앞에서 죄를 지었습니다. 더는 아버지의 아들이라고 불릴 값어치가 없습니다.’	And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22	그러나 아버지는 자기 종들한테 말했어요. ‘빨리 제일 좋은 예복을 내와서 그에게 입혀라. 또 그의 손에는 가락지를 끼워 주고, 발에는 샌들을 신겨 주어라.	But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23	또 살진 송아지를 끌어와서 잡아라. 먹고 즐기자꾸나.	And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24	나의 이 아들은 죽었다가 다시 살아났거든. 잃었다가 찾았어.’ 그래서 그들은 즐기기 시작했어요.	For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
25	한편, 그의 큰아들은 들에 있었어요. 그러다가 돌아오는데 집에 가까이 왔을 때, 악기에 맞추어 춤추며 노래하는 소리를 들었어요.	Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26	그는 부리는 사람들 가운데 하나를 가까이 불러서 이것이 무슨 일인지 알아보았어요.	And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27	그가 큰아들에게 대답했어요. ‘아우님이 와 계십니다. 그리고 주인어른께서 살진 송아지를 잡게 했습니다. 아우님을 건강하게 다시 맞았기 때문입니다.’	And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
28	큰아들은 화가 치밀어서, 들어가고 싶어 하지 않았어요. 그런데 아버지가 나와서 그를 타일렀어요.	And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29	하지만 큰아들이 아버지에게 대답했어요. ‘보세요, 저는 이렇게 여러 해 동안 아버지를 위해 종처럼 일하고 있습니다. 그리고 한 번도 아버지 명령을 무시하고 지나친 적이 없습니다. 그런데도 저에게는 염소 새끼라도 주어 친구들과 즐기게 해 주신 적이 없습니다.	And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30	그러나 아버지의 이 아들은 아버지가 먹고 살 재산을 몸 파는 여자들과 모조리 들어먹고 왔습니다. 그런데도 그를 위해 살진 송아지를 잡게 하셨습니다.’	But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31	아버지가 큰아들에게 말했어요. ‘얘야, 넌 말이야, 늘 나와 함께 있고, 나의 것이 다 너의 것이야.	And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32	그런데 지금은 우리가 즐기고 기뻐하는 것이 마땅했단다. 너의 이 동생은 죽었다가 살아났고, 잃었다가 찾았거든.’”	It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
