1 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവു യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും യെഹൂദയിൽനിന്നും ആധാരവും ആശ്രയവും, അപ്പം എന്ന ആധാരമൊക്കെയും വെള്ളം എന്ന ആധാരമൊക്കെയും For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
2 വീരൻ, യോദ്ധാവു, ന്യായാധിപതി, പ്രവാചകൻ, പ്രശ്നക്കാരൻ, മൂപ്പൻ, The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3 അമ്പതുപേൎക്കു അധിപതി, മാന്യൻ, മന്ത്രി, കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാരൻ, മന്ത്രവാദി എന്നിവരെയും നീക്കിക്കളയും. The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
4 ഞാൻ ബാലന്മാരെ അവൎക്കു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരാക്കി വെക്കും; ശിശുക്കൾ അവരെ വാഴും. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
5 ഒരുത്തൻ മറ്റൊരുവനെയും ഒരാൾ തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെയും ഇങ്ങനെ ജനം അന്യോന്യം പീഡിപ്പിക്കും; ബാലൻ വൃദ്ധനോടും നീചൻ മാന്യനോടും കയൎക്കും. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
6 ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലെ സഹോദരനെ പിടിച്ചു: നിനക്കു മേലങ്കിയുണ്ടു; നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അധിപതി ആയിരിക്ക; ഈ ശൂന്യശിഷ്ടം നിന്റെ കൈവശം ഇരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറയും. When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7 അവൻ അന്നു കൈ ഉയൎത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു: വൈദ്യനായിരിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല; എന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ആഹാരവുമില്ല, വസ്ത്രവുമില്ല; എന്നെ ജനത്തിന്നു അധിപതിയാക്കരുതു എന്നു പറയും. In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
8 യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സുള്ള കണ്ണിന്നു വെറുപ്പുതോന്നുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവരുടെ നാവുകളും പ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നു വിരോധമായിരിക്കയാൽ യെരൂശലേം ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; യെഹൂദാ വീണുപോകും. For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
9 അവരുടെ മുഖഭാവം അവൎക്കു വിരോധമായി സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ സൊദോംപോലെ തങ്ങളുടെ പാപത്തെ പരസ്യമാക്കുന്നു; അതിനെ മറെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവൎക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവർ തങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ ദോഷം വരുത്തുന്നു. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
10 നീതിമാനെക്കുറിച്ചു: അവന്നു നന്മവരും എന്നു പറവിൻ; തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം അവർ അനുഭവിക്കും. Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 ദുഷ്ടന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അവന്നു ദോഷം വരും; അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം അവനും അനുഭവിക്കും. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
12 എന്റെ ജനമോ, കുട്ടികൾ അവരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; സ്ത്രീകൾ അവരെ വാഴുന്നു; എന്റെ ജനമേ, നിന്നെ നടത്തുന്നവർ നിന്നെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്നു; നീ നടക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വഴി അവർ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
13 യഹോവ വ്യവഹരിപ്പാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വംശങ്ങളെ വിധിപ്പാൻ നില്ക്കുന്നു. The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
14 യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; എളിയവരോടു കവൎന്നെടുത്തതു നിങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിൽ ഉണ്ടു; The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
15 എന്റെ ജനത്തെ തകൎത്തുകളവാനും എളിയവരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിപ്പാനും നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു കാൎയ്യം എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു. What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord God of hosts.
16 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: സീയോൻ പുത്രിമാർ നിഗളിച്ചു കഴുത്തു നീട്ടിയും എറികണ്ണിട്ടുംകൊണ്ടു സഞ്ചരിക്കയും തത്തിത്തത്തി നടക്കയും കാൽകൊണ്ടു ചിലമ്പൊലി കേൾപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17 ഇതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവ സീയോൻ പുത്രിമാരുടെ നെറുകെക്കു ചൊറി പിടിപ്പിക്കും; യഹോവ അവരുടെ ഗുഹ്യപ്രദേശങ്ങളെ നഗ്നമാക്കും. Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.
18 അന്നു കൎത്താവു അവരുടെ കാൽച്ചിലമ്പുകളുടെ അലങ്കാരം, In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
19 അവരുടെ നെറ്റിപ്പട്ടം, ചന്ദ്രക്കല, കാതില, കടകം, കവണി, The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20 തലപ്പാവു, കാൽത്തള, പട്ടുകച്ച, പരിമളപ്പെട്ടി, The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21 തകിട്ടുകൂടു, മോതിരം, മൂക്കുത്തി, The rings, and nose jewels,
22 ഉത്സവ വസ്ത്രം, മേലാട, ശാല്‌വാ, ചെറുസഞ്ചി, ദൎപ്പണം, ക്ഷോമപടം, The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
23 കല്ലാവു, മൂടുപടം എന്നിവ നീക്കിക്കളയും. The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
24 അപ്പോൾ സുഗന്ധത്തിന്നു പകരം ദുൎഗ്ഗന്ധവും അരക്കച്ചെക്കു പകരം കയറും പുരികുഴലിന്നു പകരം കഷണ്ടിയും ഉടയാടെക്കു പകരം രട്ടും സൌന്ദൎയ്യത്തിന്നു പകരം കരിവാളിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകും. And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
25 നിന്റെ പുരുഷന്മാർ വാളിനാലും നിന്റെ വീരന്മാർ യുദ്ധത്തിലും വീഴും. Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26 അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകൾ വിലപിച്ചു ദുഃഖിക്കും; അതു ശൂന്യമായി നിലത്തു കിടക്കും. And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
