1 ഞാൻ അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ വടികൊണ്ടു കഷ്ടം കണ്ട പുരുഷനാകുന്നു. I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
2 അവൻ എന്നെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലല്ല, ഇരുട്ടിലത്രേ നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടു പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു. He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
3 അതേ, അവൻ ഇടവിടാതെ പിന്നെയും പിന്നെയും തന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ നേരെ തിരിക്കുന്നു. Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.
4 എന്റെ മാംസത്തെയും ത്വക്കിനെയും അവൻ ജീൎണ്ണമാക്കി, എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളെ തകൎത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.
5 അവൻ എന്റെ നേരെ പണിതു, നഞ്ചും പ്രയാസവും എന്നെ ചുറ്റുമാറാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
6 ശാശ്വതമൃതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അവൻ എന്നെ ഇരുട്ടിൽ പാൎപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
7 പുറത്തു പോകുവാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം അവൻ എന്നെ വേലികെട്ടിയടച്ചു എന്റെ ചങ്ങലയെ ഭാരമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
8 ഞാൻ കൂകി നിലവിളിച്ചാലും അവൻ എന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന തടുത്തുകളയുന്നു. Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
9 വെട്ടുകല്ലുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ എന്റെ വഴി അടെച്ചു, എന്റെ പാതകളെ വികടമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
10 അവൻ എനിക്കു പതിയിരിക്കുന്ന കരടിയെപ്പോലെയും മറഞ്ഞുനില്ക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആകുന്നു. He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
11 അവൻ എന്റെ വഴികളെ തെറ്റിച്ചു എന്നെ കടിച്ചുകീറി ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
12 അവൻ വില്ലു കുലെച്ചു എന്നെ അമ്പിന്നു ലാക്കാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13 അവൻ തന്റെ പൂണിയിലെ അമ്പുകളെ എന്റെ അന്തരംഗങ്ങളിൽ തറെപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
14 ഞാൻ എന്റെ സൎവ്വജനത്തിന്നും പരിഹാസവും ഇടവിടാതെ അവരുടെ പാട്ടും ആയിത്തീൎന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
15 അവൻ എന്നെ കൈപ്പുകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു, കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ടു മത്തുപിടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.
16 അവൻ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പല്ലു തകൎത്തു, എന്നെ വെണ്ണീരിൽ ഇട്ടുരുട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
17 നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ സമാധാനത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കി; ഞാൻ സുഖം മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.
18 എന്റെ മഹത്വവും യഹോവയിങ്കലുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയും പൊയ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the Lord:
19 നീ എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും അരിഷ്ടതയും കാഞ്ഞിരവും കൈപ്പും ഓൎക്കേണമേ. Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
20 എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ എപ്പോഴും അവയെ ഓൎത്തു ഉരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു. My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 ഇതു ഞാൻ ഓൎക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പ്രത്യാശിക്കും. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 നാം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവയുടെ ദയ ആകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കരുണ തീൎന്നു പോയിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ; It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 അതു രാവിലെതോറും പുതിയതും നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്ഥത വലിയതും ആകുന്നു. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 യഹോവ എന്റെ ഓഹരി എന്നു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പറയുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവനിൽ പ്രത്യാശവെക്കുന്നു. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 തന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവൎക്കും തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവന്നും യഹോവ നല്ലവൻ. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 യഹോവയുടെ രക്ഷെക്കായി മിണ്ടാതെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
27 ബാല്യത്തിൽ നുകം ചുമക്കുന്നതു ഒരു പുരുഷന്നു നല്ലതു. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
28 അവൻ അതു അവന്റെ മേൽ വെച്ചിരിക്ക കൊണ്ടു അവൻ തനിച്ചു മൌനം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ. He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.
29 അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖത്തെ പൊടിയോളം താഴ്ത്തട്ടെ; പക്ഷെ പ്രത്യാശ ശേഷിക്കും. He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
30 തന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു അവൻ കവിൾ കാണിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ വേണ്ടുവോളം നിന്ദ അനുഭവിക്കട്ടെ. He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.
31 കൎത്താവു എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ലല്ലോ. For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
32 അവൻ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചാലും തന്റെ മഹാദയെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അവന്നു കരുണതോന്നും. But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
33 മനസ്സോടെയല്ലല്ലോ അവൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചു വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
34 ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലബദ്ധന്മാരെയും കാല്കീഴിട്ടു മെതിക്കുന്നതും To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
35 അത്യുന്നതന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മനുഷ്യന്റെ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നതും To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
36 മനുഷ്യനെ വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്നതും കൎത്താവു കാണുകയില്ലയോ? To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.
37 കൎത്താവു കല്പിക്കാതെ ആർ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടാകുന്നു വല്ലതും സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു? Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?
38 അത്യുന്നതന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു നന്മയും തിന്മയും പുറപ്പെടുന്നില്ലയോ? Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
39 മനുഷ്യൻ ജീവനുള്ളന്നു നെടുവീൎപ്പിടുന്നതെന്തു? ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു നെടുവീൎപ്പിടട്ടെ. Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
40 നാം നമ്മുടെ നടപ്പു ആരാഞ്ഞു ശോധന ചെയ്തു യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിയുക. Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.
41 നാം കൈകളെയും ഹൃദയത്തെയും സ്വൎഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു ഉയൎത്തുക. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
42 ഞങ്ങൾ അതിക്രമം ചെയ്തു മത്സരിച്ചു; നീ ക്ഷമിച്ചതുമില്ല. We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
43 നീ കോപം പുതെച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടൎന്നു, കരുണകൂടാതെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.
44 ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന കടക്കാതവണ്ണം നീ മേഘംകൊണ്ടു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ മറെച്ചു. Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
45 നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചവറും എച്ചിലും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.
46 ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ വായ്പിളൎന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
47 പേടിയും കണിയും ശൂന്യവും നാശവും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.
48 എന്റെ ജനത്തിൻപുത്രിയുടെ നാശം നിമിത്തം നീൎത്തോടുകൾ എന്റെ കണ്ണിൽനിന്നൊഴുകുന്നു. Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 യഹോവ സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു നോക്കി കടാക്ഷിക്കുവോളം Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
50 എന്റെ കണ്ണു ഇടവിടാതെ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു; ഇളെക്കുന്നതുമില്ല. Till the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
51 എന്റെ നഗരത്തിലെ സകലസ്ത്രീജനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു എന്റെ കണ്ണു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
52 കാരണംകൂടാതെ എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളായവർ എന്നെ ഒരു പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെ വേട്ടയാടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
53 അവർ എന്റെ ജീവനെ കുണ്ടറയിൽ ഇട്ടു നശിപ്പിച്ചു, എന്റെ മേൽ കല്ലു എറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
54 വെള്ളം എന്റെ തലെക്കുമീതെ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി; ഞാൻ നശിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
55 യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ ആഴമുള്ള കുണ്ടറയിൽനിന്നു നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. I called upon thy name, O Lord, out of the low dungeon.
56 എന്റെ നെടുവീൎപ്പിന്നും എന്റെ നിലവിളിക്കും ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയരുതേ എന്നുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.
57 ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിച്ച നാളിൽ നീ അടുത്തുവന്നു: ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.
58 കൎത്താവേ, നീ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി, എന്റെ ജീവനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു. O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.
59 യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ അനുഭവിച്ച അന്യായം നീ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം തീൎത്തുതരേണമേ. O Lord, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
60 അവർ ചെയ്ത സകലപ്രതികാരവും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ സകലനിരൂപണങ്ങളും നീ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
61 യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ നിന്ദയും എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ സകലനിരൂപണങ്ങളും Thou hast heard their reproach, O Lord, and all their imaginations against me;
62 എന്റെ എതിരികളുടെ വാക്കുകളും ഇടവിടാതെ എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള നിനവും നീ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
63 അവരുടെ ഇരിപ്പും എഴുന്നേല്പും നോക്കേണമേ; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പാട്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു. Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.
64 യഹോവേ, അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവൎക്കു പകരം ചെയ്യേണമേ; Render unto them a recompence, O Lord, according to the work of their hands.
65 നീ അവൎക്കു ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം വരുത്തും; നിന്റെ ശാപം അവൎക്കു വരട്ടെ. Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.
66 നീ അവരെ കോപത്തോടെ പിന്തുടൎന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും. Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the Lord.
