1 പ്രതികാരത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, പ്രതികാരത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമേ, പ്രകാശിക്കേണമേ. O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
2 ഭൂമിയുടെ ന്യായാധിപതിയേ എഴുന്നേല്ക്കേണമേ; ഡംഭികൾക്കു നീ പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണമേ. Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
3 യഹോവേ, ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ എത്രത്തോളം, ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ എത്രത്തോളം ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കും? Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4 അവർ ശകാരിച്ചു ധാൎഷ്ട്യം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; നീതികേടു പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവരും വമ്പു പറയുന്നു. How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
5 യഹോവേ, അവർ നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ തകൎത്തുകളയുന്നു; നിന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.
6 അവർ വിധവയെയും പരദേശിയെയും കൊല്ലുന്നു; അനാഥന്മാരെ അവർ ഹിംസിക്കുന്നു. They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 യഹോവ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവം ഗ്രഹിക്കയില്ലെന്നും അവർ പറയുന്നു. Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
8 ജനത്തിൽ മൃഗപ്രായരായവരേ, ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; ഭോഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു എപ്പോൾ ബുദ്ധിവരും? Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9 ചെവിയെ നട്ടവൻ കേൾക്കയില്ലയോ? കണ്ണിനെ നിൎമ്മിച്ചവൻ കാണുകയില്ലയോ? He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 ജാതികളെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ ശാസിക്കയില്ലയോ? അവൻ മനുഷ്യൎക്കു ജ്ഞാനം ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
11 മനുഷ്യരുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളെ മായ എന്നു യഹോവ അറിയുന്നു. The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
12 യഹോവേ, ദുഷ്ടന്നു കുഴി കുഴിക്കുവോളം അനൎത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ നീ അവനെ വിശ്രമിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;
13 നീ ശിക്ഷിക്കയും നിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം നീ ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ. That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14 യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ല; തന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ കൈവിടുകയുമില്ല. For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 ന്യായവിധി നീതിയിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞുവരും; പരമാൎത്ഥഹൃദയമുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും അതിനോടു യോജിക്കും. But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16 ദുഷ്കൎമ്മികളുടെ നേരെ ആർ എനിക്കു വേണ്ടി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കും? നീതികേടു പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്നവരോടു ആർ എനിക്കു വേണ്ടി എതിൎത്തുനില്ക്കും? Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 യഹോവ എനിക്കു സഹായമായിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ വേഗം മൌനവാസം ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു. Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18 എന്റെ കാൽ വഴുതുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ദയ എന്നെ താങ്ങി. When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.
19 എന്റെ ഉള്ളിലെ വിചാരങ്ങളുടെ ബഹുത്വത്തിൽ നിന്റെ ആശ്വാസങ്ങൾ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നു. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
20 നിയമത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി കഷ്ടത നിൎമ്മിക്കുന്ന ദുഷ്ടസിംഹാസനത്തിന്നു നിന്നോടു സഖ്യത ഉണ്ടാകുമോ? Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
21 നീതിമാന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു വിരോധമായി അവർ കൂട്ടംകൂടുന്നു; കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തത്തെ അവർ ശിക്ഷെക്കു വിധിക്കുന്നു. They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 എങ്കിലും യഹോവ എനിക്കു ഗോപുരവും എന്റെ ശരണശൈലമായ എന്റെ ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു. But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.
23 അവൻ അവരുടെ നീതികേടു അവരുടെമേൽ തന്നേ വരുത്തും; അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടതയിൽ തന്നേ അവരെ സംഹരിക്കും; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും. And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.
