1 അനന്തരം ദാവീദ് ഫെലിസ്ത്യരെ ജയിച്ചടക്കി, മൂലസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ഭരണം ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Metheg–ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 അവൻ മോവാബ്യരെയും തോല്പിച്ചു അവരെ നിലത്തു കിടത്തി ചരടുകൊണ്ടു അളന്നു; കൊല്ലുവാൻ രണ്ടു ചരടും ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ഒരു ചരടുമായി അവൻ അളന്നു. അങ്ങനെ മോവാബ്യർ ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായി കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു. And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.
3 രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെർ നദീതീരത്തുള്ള തന്റെ ആധിപത്യം യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ പോയപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചു. David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
4 അവന്റെ വക ആയിരത്തെഴുനൂറു കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ഇരുപതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും ദാവീദ് പിടിച്ചു; രഥക്കുതിരകളിൽ നൂറു മാത്രംവെച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ശേഷം കുതിരകളെ ഒക്കെയും കുതിഞരമ്പു വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു. And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.
5 സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിനെ സഹായിപ്പാൻ ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേൎന്ന അരാമ്യർ വന്നപ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് അരാമ്യരിൽ ഇരുപത്തീരായിരംപേരെ സംഹരിച്ചു. And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6 പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ദമ്മേശെക്കിനോടു ചേൎന്ന അരാമിൽ കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാൎപ്പിച്ചു; അരാമ്യരും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീൎന്നു കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി. Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.
7 ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാൎക്കു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പൊൻപരിചകളെ ദാവീദ് എടുത്തു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളായ ബേതഹിൽനിന്നും ബെരോതായിൽനിന്നും ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവു അനവധി താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
9 ദാവീദ് ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ സൎവ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും തോല്പിച്ചു എന്നു ഹമാത്ത് രാജാവായ തോയി കേട്ടപ്പോൾ When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
10 ദാവീദ് രാജാവിനോടു കുശലം ചോദിപ്പാനും അവൻ ഹദദേസെരിനോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്തു അവനെ തോല്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അഭിനന്ദിപ്പാനും തോയി തന്റെ മകൻ യോരാമിനെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; ഹദദേസെരിന്നു തോയിയോടു കൂടക്കൂടെ യുദ്ധമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യോരാം വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, താമ്രം എന്നിവകൊണ്ടുള്ള സാധനങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
11 ദാവീദ് രാജാവു ഇവയെ അരാമ്യർ, മോവാബ്യർ, അമ്മോന്യർ, ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ, അമാലേക്യർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ താൻ കീഴടക്കിയ സകലജാതികളുടെയും പക്കൽനിന്നും Which also king David did dedicate unto the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
12 രെഹോബിന്റെ മകനായി സോബരാജാവായ ഹദദേസെരിന്റെ കൊള്ളയിൽനിന്നും എടുത്തു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച വെള്ളിയോടും പൊന്നിനോടുംകൂടെ യഹോവെക്കു വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് ഉപ്പുതാഴ്വരയിൽവെച്ചു പതിനെണ്ണായിരം അരാമ്യരെ സംഹരിച്ചു മടങ്ങിവന്നപ്പോൾ തനിക്കു കീൎത്തി സമ്പാദിച്ചു. And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.
14 അവൻ എദോമിൽ കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ ആക്കി; എദോമിൽ എല്ലാടത്തും അവൻ കാവല്പട്ടാളങ്ങളെ പാൎപ്പിച്ചു; എദോമ്യരൊക്കെയും ദാവീദിന്നു ദാസന്മാരായിത്തീൎന്നു; ദാവീദ് ചെന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവ അവന്നു ജയം നല്കി. And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David’s servants. And the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.
15 ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിനെയും വാണു; ദാവീദ് തന്റെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തിക്കൊടുത്തു. And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
16 സെരൂയയുടെ മകൻ യോവാബ് സേനാധിപതിയും അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകൻ യെഹോശാഫാത് മന്ത്രിയും ആയിരുന്നു. And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17 അഹീതൂബിന്റെ മകൻ സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരിന്റെ മകൻ അഹീമേലെക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാരും സെരായാ രായസക്കാരനും ആയിരുന്നു. And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;
18 യഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവു ക്രേത്യൎക്കും പ്ലേത്യൎക്കും അധിപതി ആയിരുന്നു; ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോ പുരോഹിതന്മാരായിരുന്നു. And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.
