1 അനന്തരം അവൻ അഥേന വിട്ടു കൊരിന്തിൽ ചെന്നു. After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
2 യെഹൂദന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും റോമനഗരം വിട്ടു പോകണം എന്നു ക്ലൌദ്യൊസ് കല്പിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ഇത്തല്യയിൽ നിന്നു ആ ഇടെക്കു വന്നവനായി പൊന്തൊസ്കാരൻ അക്വിലാസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു യെഹൂദനെയും അവന്റെ ഭാൎയ്യ പ്രിസ്കില്ലയെയും കണ്ടു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു. And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
3 തൊഴിൽ ഒന്നാകകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവരോടുകൂടെ പാൎത്തു വേല ചെയ്തുപോന്നു; തൊഴിലോ കൂടാരപ്പണിയായിരുന്നു. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
4 എന്നാൽ ശബ്ബത്ത്തോറും അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ സംവാദിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാരെയും യവനന്മാരെയും സമ്മതിപ്പിച്ചു. And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
5 ശീലാസും തിമൊഥെയൊസും മക്കെദോന്യയിൽ നിന്നു വന്നാറെ പൌലൊസ് വചനഘോഷണത്തിൽ ശുഷ്കാന്തിപൂണ്ടു യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാൎക്കു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു. And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
6 അവർ എതിർ പറയുകയും ദുഷിക്കയും ചെയ്കയാൽ അവൻ വസ്ത്രം കുടഞ്ഞു: നിങ്ങളുടെ നാശത്തിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ ഉത്തരവാദികൾ; ഞാൻ നിൎമ്മലൻ; ഇനിമേൽ ഞാൻ ജാതികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകും എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു. And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
7 അവൻ അവിടം വിട്ടു, തീത്തൊസ് യുസ്തൊസ് എന്ന ഒരു ദൈവഭക്തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു; അവന്റെ വീടു പള്ളിയോടു തൊട്ടിരുന്നു. And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man’s house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
8 പള്ളി പ്രമാണിയായ ക്രിസ്പൊസ് തന്റെ സകല കുടുംബത്തോടുംകൂടെ കൎത്താവിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു; കൊരിന്ത്യരിൽ അനേകർ വചനം കേട്ടു വിശ്വസിച്ചു സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു. And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
9 രാത്രിയിൽ കൎത്താവു ദൎശനത്തിൽ പൌലൊസിനോടു: നീ ഭയപ്പെടാതെ പ്രസംഗിക്ക; മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കരുതു; Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
10 ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു; ആരും നിന്നെ കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്തു ദോഷപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; ഈ പട്ടണത്തിൽ എനിക്കു വളരെ ജനം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു. For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.
11 അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഒരാണ്ടും ആറുമാസവും അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ദൈവവചനം ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു താമസിച്ചു. And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
12 ഗല്ലിയോൻ അഖായയിൽ ദേശാഅധിപതിയായി വാഴുമ്പോൾ യെഹൂദന്മാർ പൌലൊസിന്റെ നേരെ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു എഴുന്നേറ്റു, അവനെ ന്യായാസനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു: And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
13 ഇവൻ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി ദൈവത്തെ ഭജിപ്പാൻ മനുഷ്യരെ സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
14 പൌലൊസ് വായ്തുറപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഗല്ലിയോൻ യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു: യെഹൂദന്മാരേ, വല്ല അന്യായമോ വല്ലാത്ത പാതകമോ ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ക്ഷമയോടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കടം കേൾക്കുമായിരുന്നു. And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
15 വചനത്തെയും നാമങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള തൎക്കസംഗതികൾ എങ്കിലോ നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ നോക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ; ഈ വകെക്കു ന്യായാധിപതി ആകുവാൻ എനിക്കു മനസ്സില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
16 അവരെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി. And he drave them from the judgment seat.
17 എല്ലാവരും പള്ളിപ്രമാണിയായ സോസ്ഥനേസിനെ പിടിച്ചു ന്യായാസനത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചു അടിച്ചു; ഇതു ഒന്നും ഗല്ലിയോൻ കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല. Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.
18 പൌലൊസ് പിന്നെയും കുറെനാൾ പാൎത്തശേഷം സഹോദരന്മാരോടു യാത്ര പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു, തനിക്കു ഒരു നേൎച്ച ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതിനാൽ കെംക്രയയിൽ വെച്ചു തല ക്ഷൌരം ചെയ്യിച്ചിട്ടു പ്രിസ്കില്ലയോടും അക്വിലാസിനോടും കൂടെ കപ്പൽ കയറി സുറിയയിലേക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
19 എഫെസോസിൽ എത്തി അവരെ അവിടെ വിട്ടു; അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു സംഭാഷിച്ചു. And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
20 കുറെ കൂടെ താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു അവർ അപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടു അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ: When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;
21 ദൈവഹിതമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു വിടവാങ്ങി എഫെസൊസിൽനിന്നു കപ്പൽ നീക്കി, But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
22 കൈസൎയ്യയിൽ വന്നിറങ്ങി, യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ചെന്നു, സഭയെ വന്ദനം ചെയ്തിട്ടു അന്തൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോയി. And when he had landed at Cesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.
23 അവിടെ കുറെനാൾ താമസിച്ച ശേഷം പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ക്രമത്താലെ ഗലാത്യദേശത്തിലും ഫ്രുഗ്യയിലും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും ഉറപ്പിച്ചു. And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.
24 അലക്സാന്ത്രിയക്കാരനായി വാഗ്വൈഭവവും തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിൽ സാമൎത്ഥ്യവുമുള്ള അപ്പൊല്ലോസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു യെഹൂദൻ എഫെസോസിൽ എത്തി. And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
25 അവൻ കൎത്താവിന്റെ മാൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചവൻ ആയിരുന്നു; യോഹന്നാന്റെ സ്നാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു മാത്രം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു എങ്കിലും ആത്മാവിൽ എരിവുള്ളവനാകയാൽ അവൻ യേശുവിന്റെ വസ്തുത സൂക്ഷ്മമായി പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
26 അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി; അക്വിലാസും പ്രിസ്കില്ലയും അവന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടാറെ അവനെ ചേൎത്തുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാൎഗ്ഗം അധികം സ്പഷ്ടമായി അവന്നു തെളിയിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
27 അവൻ അഖായയിലേക്കു പോകുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചപ്പോൾ സഹോദരന്മാർ അവനെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കയും അവനെ കൈക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടിതിന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാൎക്കു എഴുതുകയും ചെയ്തു; അവിടെ എത്തിയാറെ അവൻ ദൈവകൃപയാൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചവൎക്കു വളരെ പ്രയോജനമായിത്തിൎന്നു. And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
28 യേശു തന്നേ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവൻ തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളാൽ തെളിയിച്ചു ബലത്തോടെ യെഹൂദന്മാരെ പരസ്യമായി ഖണ്ഡിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു. For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
