| 1 | യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നതു കേൾപ്പിൻ; നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പൎവ്വതങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വ്യവഹരിക്ക; കുന്നുകൾ നിന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കട്ടെ; | Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. |
| 2 | പൎവ്വതങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയുടെ സ്ഥിരമായ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുമായുള്ളോവേ, യഹോവയുടെ വ്യവഹാരം കേൾപ്പിൻ! യഹോവെക്കു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ഒരു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു വാദിക്കും. | Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. |
| 3 | എന്റെ ജനമേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്തു? ഏതൊന്നിനാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മുഷിപ്പിച്ചു? എന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷീകരിക്ക. | O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. |
| 4 | ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു, അടിമവീട്ടിൽനിന്നു നിന്നെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തു, മോശെയെയും അഹരോനെയും മിൎയ്യാമിനെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ അയച്ചു. | For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. |
| 5 | എന്റെ ജനമേ, നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികളെ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു മോവാബ്‌രാജാവായ ബാലാക്ക് ആലോചിച്ചതും ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതും ശിത്തീംമുതൽ ഗില്ഗാൽവരെ സംഭവിച്ചതും ഓൎക്കുക. | O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the Lord. |
| 6 | എന്തൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്നു, അത്യുന്നതദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കുമ്പിടേണ്ടു? ഞാൻ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു വയസ്സു പ്രായമുള്ള കാളക്കിടാക്കളോടും കൂടെ അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ചെല്ലേണമോ? | Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? |
| 7 | ആയിരം ആയിരം ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനിലും പതിനായിരം പതിനായിരം തൈലനദിയിലും യഹോവ പ്രസാദിക്കുമോ? എന്റെ അതിക്രമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനെയും ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത പാപത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി എന്റെ ഉദരഫലത്തെയും കൊടുക്കേണമോ? | Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? |
| 8 | മനുഷ്യാ, നല്ലതു എന്തെന്നു അവൻ നിനക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു: ന്യായം പ്രവൎത്തിപ്പാനും ദയാതല്പരനായിരിപ്പാനും നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ താഴ്മയോടെ നടപ്പാനും അല്ലാതെ എന്താകുന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു? | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |
| 9 | കേട്ടോ യഹോവ പട്ടണത്തോടു വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്നതു; നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതു ജ്ഞാനം ആകുന്നു; വടിയെയും അതിനെ നിയമിച്ചവനെയും ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ. | The Lord’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. |
| 10 | ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ഇനിയും അനീതിയുള്ള നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും ശാപകരമായ കള്ളയളവും ഉണ്ടോ? | Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? |
| 11 | കള്ളത്തുലാസ്സും കള്ളപ്പടികൾ ഇട്ട സഞ്ചിയുമുള്ളവനെ ഞാൻ നിൎമ്മലനായി എണ്ണുമോ? | Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? |
| 12 | അതിലെ ധനവാന്മാർ സാഹസപൂൎണ്ണന്മാർ ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ നിവാസികൾ വ്യാജം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വായിൽ അവരുടെ നാവു ചതിവുള്ളതു തന്നേ; | For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. |
| 13 | ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കഠിനമായി ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം നിന്നെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും. | Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. |
| 14 | നീ ഭക്ഷിക്കും; തൃപ്തി വരികയില്ല, വിശപ്പു അടങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; നീ നീക്കിവെക്കും; ഒന്നും സ്വരൂപിക്കയില്ലതാനും; നീ സ്വരൂപിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ വാളിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും. | Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword. |
| 15 | നീ വിതെക്കും, കൊയ്കയില്ല നീ ഒലീവുകായ് ചവിട്ടും, എണ്ണ പൂശുകയില്ല; മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ചവിട്ടും, വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും. | Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. |
| 16 | ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ശൂന്യവും നിന്റെ നിവാസികളെ പരിഹാസവിഷയവും ആക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിന്ദവഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഒമ്രിയുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും ആഹാബ് ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും പ്രമാണമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ആലോചനകളെ നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നു. | For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. |
