αἴνεσις τῷ Δαυιδ ὑψώσω σε ὁ θεός μου ὁ βασιλεύς μου καὶ εὐλογήσω τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
καθ’ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν εὐλογήσω σε καὶ αἰνέσω τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνος My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
μέγας κύριος καὶ αἰνετὸς σφόδρα καὶ τῆς μεγαλωσύνης αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἔστιν πέρας Lord, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
γενεὰ καὶ γενεὰ ἐπαινέσει τὰ ἔργα σου καὶ τὴν δύναμίν σου ἀπαγγελοῦσιν Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
τὴν μεγαλοπρέπειαν τῆς δόξης τῆς ἁγιωσύνης σου λαλήσουσιν καὶ τὰ θαυμάσιά σου διηγήσονται Bow thy heavens, O Lord, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
καὶ τὴν δύναμιν τῶν φοβερῶν σου ἐροῦσιν καὶ τὴν μεγαλωσύνην σου διηγήσονται Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
μνήμην τοῦ πλήθους τῆς χρηστότητός σου ἐξερεύξονται καὶ τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ σου ἀγαλλιάσονται Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
οἰκτίρμων καὶ ἐλεήμων ὁ κύριος μακρόθυμος καὶ πολυέλεος Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
χρηστὸς κύριος τοῖς σύμπασιν καὶ οἱ οἰκτιρμοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
ἐξομολογησάσθωσάν σοι κύριε πάντα τὰ ἔργα σου καὶ οἱ ὅσιοί σου εὐλογησάτωσάν σε It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
δόξαν τῆς βασιλείας σου ἐροῦσιν καὶ τὴν δυναστείαν σου λαλήσουσιν Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
τοῦ γνωρίσαι τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων τὴν δυναστείαν σου καὶ τὴν δόξαν τῆς μεγαλοπρεπείας τῆς βασιλείας σου That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
ἡ βασιλεία σου βασιλεία πάντων τῶν αἰώνων καὶ ἡ δεσποτεία σου ἐν πάσῃ γενεᾷ καὶ γενεᾷ πιστὸς κύριος ἐν τοῖς λόγοις αὐτοῦ καὶ ὅσιος ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ἔργοις αὐτοῦ That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
ὑποστηρίζει κύριος πάντας τοὺς καταπίπτοντας καὶ ἀνορθοῖ πάντας τοὺς κατερραγμένους That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ πάντων εἰς σὲ ἐλπίζουσιν καὶ σὺ δίδως τὴν τροφὴν αὐτῶν ἐν εὐκαιρίᾳ Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.
