1	Elihus dritte Rede Und Elihu hob an und sprach:	Elihu spake moreover, and said,
2	Hältst du das für recht, nennst du das »meine Gerechtigkeit vor Gott«,	Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?
3	dass du sprichst: »Was nützt sie mir? Was habe ich davon, dass ich nicht sündige?«	For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
4	Ich will dir antworten ein Wort und deinen Freunden mit dir.	I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
5	Schau gen Himmel und sieh; und schau die Wolken an hoch über dir!	Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
6	Sündigst du, was kannst du ihm schaden? Und wenn deine Missetaten viel sind, was kannst du ihm tun?	If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
7	Und wenn du gerecht wärst, was kannst du ihm geben oder was wird er von deinen Händen nehmen?	If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
8	Nur einem Menschen wie dir kann deine Bosheit etwas tun und einem Menschenkind deine Gerechtigkeit.	Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
9	Man schreit, dass viel Gewalt geschieht, und ruft um Hilfe vor dem Arm der Großen;	By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10	aber man fragt nicht: »Wo ist Gott, mein Schöpfer, der Lobgesänge gibt in der Nacht,	But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11	der uns klüger macht als die Tiere auf Erden und weiser als die Vögel unter dem Himmel?«	Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
12	Da schreien sie über den Hochmut der Bösen, doch er erhört sie nicht.	There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13	Denn Gott wird Nichtiges nicht erhören, und der Allmächtige wird es nicht ansehen.	Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
14	Nun gar, wenn du sprichst, du könntest ihn nicht sehen – der Rechtsstreit liegt ihm vor, harre nur seiner!	Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
15	Aber nun, da sein Zorn nicht heimsucht und er sich um Frevel nicht viel kümmert,	But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
16	sperrt Hiob seinen Mund auf zu eitlem Gerede und macht viele Worte ohne Verstand.	Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
