1	Dies sind die Worte Jeremias, des Sohnes Hilkijas, aus dem Priestergeschlecht zu Anatot im Lande Benjamin.	The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
2	Zu ihm geschah das Wort des Herrn zur Zeit Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs von Juda, im dreizehnten Jahr seiner Herrschaft	To whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3	und hernach zur Zeit Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis ans Ende des elften Jahres Zedekias, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, bis Jerusalem weggeführt wurde im fünften Monat.	It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
4	Jeremias Berufung Und des Herrn Wort geschah zu mir:	Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5	Ich kannte dich, ehe ich dich im Mutterleibe bereitete, und sonderte dich aus, ehe du von der Mutter geboren wurdest, und bestellte dich zum Propheten für die Völker.	Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6	Ich aber sprach: Ach, Herr Herr, ich tauge nicht zu predigen; denn ich bin zu jung.	Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7	Der Herr sprach aber zu mir: Sage nicht: »Ich bin zu jung«, sondern du sollst gehen, wohin ich dich sende, und predigen alles, was ich dir gebiete.	But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8	Fürchte dich nicht vor ihnen; denn ich bin bei dir und will dich erretten, spricht der Herr.	Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9	Und der Herr streckte seine Hand aus und rührte meinen Mund an und sprach zu mir: Siehe, ich lege meine Worte in deinen Mund.	Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10	Siehe, ich setze dich heute über Völker und Königreiche, dass du ausreißen und einreißen, zerstören und verderben sollst und bauen und pflanzen.	See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
11	Und es geschah des Herrn Wort zu mir: Jeremia, was siehst du? Ich sprach: Ich sehe einen erwachenden Zweig.	Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
12	Und der Herr sprach zu mir: Du hast recht gesehen; denn ich will wachen über meinem Wort, dass ich’s tue.	Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
13	Und es geschah des Herrn Wort zum zweiten Mal zu mir: Was siehst du? Ich sprach: Ich sehe einen siedenden Kessel überkochen von Norden her.	And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
14	Und der Herr sprach zu mir: Von Norden her wird das Unheil losbrechen über alle, die im Lande wohnen.	Then the Lord said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15	Denn siehe, ich will rufen alle Geschlechter der Königreiche des Nordens, spricht der Herr, dass sie kommen sollen und ihre Throne setzen vor die Tore Jerusalems und rings um die Mauern her und vor alle Städte Judas.	For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
16	Und ich will mein Gericht über sie ergehen lassen um all ihrer Bosheit willen, dass sie mich verlassen und andern Göttern opfern und ihrer Hände Werk anbeten.	And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
17	So gürte nun deine Lenden und mache dich auf und predige ihnen alles, was ich dir gebiete. Erschrick nicht vor ihnen, auf dass ich dich nicht erschrecke vor ihnen!	Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
18	Denn ich will dich heute zur festen Stadt, zur eisernen Säule, zur ehernen Mauer machen wider das ganze Land: wider die Könige Judas, wider seine Großen, wider seine Priester, wider das Volk des Landes,	For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
19	dass, wenn sie auch wider dich streiten, sie dir dennoch nichts anhaben können; denn ich bin bei dir, spricht der Herr, dass ich dich errette.	And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
