1	David als König in Jerusalem Und Hiram, der König von Tyrus, sandte Boten zu David und Zedernholz, Steinmetzen und Zimmerleute, dass sie ihm ein Haus bauten.	Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
2	Und David erkannte, dass der Herr ihn zum König über Israel bestätigt hatte; denn sein Königtum war hoch erhoben worden um seines Volkes Israel willen.	And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
3	Und David nahm noch mehr Frauen zu Jerusalem und zeugte noch mehr Söhne und Töchter.	And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
4	Die Söhne, die ihm zu Jerusalem geboren wurden, hießen: Schammua, Schobab, Nathan, Salomo,	Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5	Jibhar, Elischua, Elpelet,	And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
6	Nogah, Nefeg, Jafia,	And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7	Elischama, Beeljada, Elifelet. (vgl. )	And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
8	Davids Sieg über die Philister Als aber die Philister hörten, dass David zum König gesalbt war über ganz Israel, zogen sie alle herauf, um sich Davids zu bemächtigen. Als das David hörte, zog er aus gegen sie.	And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9	Und die Philister kamen und ließen sich nieder in der Ebene Refaïm.	And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10	David aber befragte Gott und sprach: Soll ich hinaufziehen gegen die Philister und willst du sie in meine Hand geben? Der Herr sprach zu ihm: Zieh hinauf! Ich will sie in deine Hände geben.	And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
11	Und als sie hinaufzogen nach Baal-Perazim, schlug sie David dort. Und David sprach: Gott hat durch meine Hand die Reihen meiner Feinde durchbrochen, wie das Wasser einen Damm durchbricht. Daher nannte man die Stätte »Baal-Perazim«.	So they came up to Baal–perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal–perazim.
12	Und sie ließen ihre Götter dort zurück; die befahl David mit Feuer zu verbrennen.	And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13	Aber die Philister kamen wieder und breiteten sich aus in der Ebene.	And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14	Und David befragte Gott abermals, und Gott sprach zu ihm: Du sollst nicht hinaufziehen hinter ihnen her, sondern umgehe sie, dass du an sie herankommst von den Bakabäumen her.	Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15	Wenn du dann hören wirst, wie das Rauschen oben in den Bakabäumen einhergeht, so brich hervor zum Kampf; denn Gott ist dann vor dir ausgezogen, zu schlagen das Heer der Philister.	And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
16	Und David tat, wie ihm Gott geboten hatte, und sie schlugen das Heer der Philister von Gibeon an bis Geser.	David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17	Und Davids Name ging aus in alle Lande, und der Herr ließ Furcht vor ihm über alle Völker kommen.	And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
