1	Gottes unabwendbares Gericht über Israels Nachbarn und über sein eigenes Volk Dies ist’s, was Amos, der unter den Schafzüchtern von Tekoa war, gesehen hat über Israel zur Zeit Usijas, des Königs von Juda, und Jerobeams, des Sohnes des Joasch, des Königs von Israel, zwei Jahre vor dem Erdbeben.	The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2	Und er sprach: Der Herr wird aus Zion brüllen und seine Stimme aus Jerusalem hören lassen, dass die Auen der Hirten vertrocknen werden und der Karmel oben verdorren wird.	And he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
3	Drohung gegen die Nachbarvölker So spricht der Herr: Um der drei, ja der vier Frevel willen derer von Damaskus will ich es nicht zurücknehmen, weil sie Gilead mit eisernen Dreschschlitten gedroschen haben;	Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
4	sondern ich will Feuer schicken in das Haus Hasaëls, das soll die Paläste Ben-Hadads verzehren.	But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben–hadad.
5	Und ich will die Riegel von Damaskus zerbrechen und den, der auf dem Thron sitzt, aus Bikat-Awen ausrotten, und den, der das Zepter hält, aus Bet-Eden, und das Volk von Aram soll nach Kir weggeführt werden, spricht der Herr.	I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the Lord.
6	So spricht der Herr: Um der drei, ja der vier Frevel willen derer von Gaza will ich es nicht zurücknehmen, weil sie die Gefangenen alle weggeführt und an Edom ausgeliefert haben;	Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
7	sondern ich will Feuer in die Mauern von Gaza schicken, das soll seine Paläste verzehren.	But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
8	Und ich will die Einwohner aus Aschdod und den, der das Zepter hält, aus Aschkelon ausrotten und meine Hand gegen Ekron wenden, und es soll umkommen, was von den Philistern noch übrig ist, spricht Gott der Herr.	And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.
9	So spricht der Herr: Um der drei, ja der vier Frevel willen derer von Tyrus will ich es nicht zurücknehmen, weil sie die Gefangenen alle an Edom ausgeliefert und nicht an den Bruderbund gedacht haben;	Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
10	sondern ich will Feuer in die Mauern von Tyrus schicken, das soll seine Paläste verzehren.	But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
11	So spricht der Herr: Um der drei, ja der vier Frevel willen derer von Edom will ich es nicht zurücknehmen, weil sie ihren Bruder mit dem Schwert verfolgt und alles Erbarmen von sich getan haben und immerfort wüteten in ihrem Zorn und an ihrem Grimm ewig festhielten;	Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
12	sondern ich will Feuer schicken nach Teman, das soll die Paläste von Bozra verzehren.	But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
13	So spricht der Herr: Um der drei, ja der vier Frevel willen derer von Ammon will ich es nicht zurücknehmen, weil sie die Schwangeren in Gilead aufgeschlitzt haben, um ihr Gebiet zu erweitern;	Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
14	sondern ich will Feuer anzünden in den Mauern Rabbas, das soll seine Paläste verzehren, wenn man das Kriegsgeschrei erhebt am Tage der Schlacht, wenn das Wetter kommt am Tage des Sturms.	But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
15	Da wird dann ihr König samt seinen Oberen gefangen weggeführt werden, spricht der Herr.	And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the Lord.
