1	—	Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2	Feinde bedrohen das Gottesvolk / Ein Psalmlied Asafs. Gott, schweige doch nicht! Gott, bleib nicht so still und ruhig!	For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3	Denn siehe, deine Feinde toben, und die dich hassen, erheben das Haupt.	They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4	Sie machen listige Anschläge wider dein Volk und halten Rat wider die, die bei dir sich bergen.	They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5	»Wohlan!«, sprechen sie. »Lasst uns sie ausrotten, / dass sie kein Volk mehr seien und des Namens Israel nicht mehr gedacht werde!«	For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6	Ja, sie haben einmütig beraten und haben einen Bund wider dich gemacht:	The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7	die Zelte Edoms und die Ismaeliter, Moab und die Hagariter,	Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8	Gebal, Ammon und Amalek, die Philister mit denen von Tyrus;	Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
9	auch Assur hat sich zu ihnen geschlagen, sie helfen den Söhnen Lot. SELA.	Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10	Mach’s mit ihnen wie mit Midian, wie mit Sisera, mit Jabin am Bach Kischon,	Which perished at En–dor: they became as dung for the earth.
11	die vertilgt wurden bei En-Dor und wurden zu Mist auf dem Acker.	Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12	Mache ihre Fürsten wie Oreb und Seeb, alle ihre Edlen wie Sebach und Zalmunna,	Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13	die auch einmal sagten: Wir wollen Gottes Auen einnehmen.	O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14	Mein Gott, mache sie wie verwehende Blätter, wie Spreu vor dem Winde.	As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15	Wie ein Feuer den Wald verbrennt und wie eine Flamme die Berge versengt,	So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16	so verfolge sie mit deinem Sturm und erschrecke sie mit deinem Ungewitter.	Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O Lord.
17	Bedecke ihr Angesicht mit Schande, dass sie, Herr, nach deinem Namen fragen müssen.	Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18	Schämen sollen sie sich und erschrecken für immer und zuschanden werden und umkommen.	That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.
19	So werden sie erkennen, / dass du allein der Höchste bist über die ganze Erde, Herr ist dein Name.	—
