1	Die Nachkommen Aarons. Aufgaben der Leviten Dies ist das Geschlecht Aarons und Moses zu der Zeit, da der Herr mit Mose redete auf dem Berge Sinai.	These also are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the Lord spake with Moses in mount Sinai.
2	Und dies sind die Namen der Söhne Aarons: der Erstgeborene Nadab, danach Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar.	And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3	Das sind die Namen der Söhne Aarons, die zu Priestern gesalbt waren und denen man die Hände füllte zum Priestertum.	These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest’s office.
4	Aber Nadab und Abihu starben vor dem Herrn, als sie fremdes Feuer opferten vor dem Herrn in der Wüste Sinai, und sie hatten keine Söhne. Eleasar aber und Itamar versahen Priesterdienst unter ihrem Vater Aaron.	And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest’s office in the sight of Aaron their father.
5	Und der Herr redete mit Mose und sprach:	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
6	Bringe den Stamm Levi herzu und stelle sie vor den Priester Aaron, dass sie ihm dienen.	Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
7	Sie sollen Sorge tragen für ihn und für die ganze Gemeinde vor der Stiftshütte und so ihren Dienst für die Wohnung versehen	And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
8	und sollen alles Gerät der Stiftshütte in ihre Obhut nehmen und Sorge für die Israeliten tragen und ihren Dienst für die Wohnung versehen.	And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
9	Und du sollst Aaron und seinen Söhnen die Leviten übergeben als Gabe der Israeliten.	And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
10	Aaron aber und seine Söhne sollst du bestellen, dass sie auf ihr Priesteramt achthaben. Wenn ein Fremder sich naht, so soll er sterben.	And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
11	Und der Herr redete mit Mose und sprach:	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
12	Siehe, ich habe die Leviten genommen aus den Israeliten statt aller Erstgeburt, die den Mutterschoß durchbricht in Israel, sodass die Leviten mir gehören sollen.	And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;
13	Denn die Erstgeburten sind mein. An dem Tage, da ich alle Erstgeburt schlug in Ägyptenland, da heiligte ich mir alle Erstgeburt in Israel, Mensch und Vieh, dass sie mir gehören sollen. Ich bin der Herr.	Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the Lord.
14	Die Geschlechter der Leviten und ihr Dienst Und der Herr redete mit Mose in der Wüste Sinai und sprach:	And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,
15	Zähle die Söhne Levi nach ihren Sippen und Geschlechtern, alles, was männlich ist, einen Monat alt und darüber.	Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.
16	Also zählte sie Mose nach dem Wort des Herrn, wie er ihm geboten hatte.	And Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded.
17	Und dies waren die Söhne Levis mit Namen: Gerschon, Kehat und Merari.	And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.
18	Die Namen aber der Söhne Gerschons nach ihren Geschlechtern waren: Libni und Schimi.	And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei.
19	Die Söhne Kehats nach ihren Geschlechtern waren: Amram, Jizhar, Hebron und Usiël.	And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.
20	Die Söhne Meraris nach ihren Geschlechtern waren: Machli und Muschi. Das sind die Geschlechter Levis nach ihren Sippen.	And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.
21	Dies sind die Geschlechter von Gerschon: die Libniter und die Schimiter.	Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.
22	Ihre Zahl war 7500, alles, was männlich war, einen Monat alt und darüber.	Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.
23	Und die Geschlechter der Gerschoniter sollen sich lagern hinter der Wohnung nach Westen.	The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.
24	Ihr Fürst sei Eljasaf, der Sohn Laëls.	And the chief of the house of the father of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.
25	Und sie sollen an der Stiftshütte in Obhut nehmen die Wohnung und das Zelt und seine Decken und den Vorhang in dem Eingang der Stiftshütte,	And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
26	die Umhänge am Vorhof und den Vorhang in der Tür des Vorhofs, der die Wohnung und den Altar umgibt, und ihre Seile und was sonst zu ihrem Dienst gehört.	And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.
27	Dies sind die Geschlechter von Kehat: die Amramiter, die Jizhariter, die Hebroniter und die Usiëliter,	And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.
28	alles, was männlich war, einen Monat alt und darüber, an Zahl 8600, die für das Heiligtum Sorge tragen.	In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.
29	Die Geschlechter der Söhne Kehat sollen sich lagern an der Seite der Wohnung nach Süden.	The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.
30	Ihr Fürst sei Elizafan, der Sohn Usiëls.	And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
31	Und sie sollen in Obhut nehmen die Lade, den Tisch, den Leuchter, die Altäre und alle Geräte des Heiligtums, an denen sie dienen, und den Vorhang und was sonst zu ihrem Dienst gehört.	And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof.
32	Aber der Fürst über alle Fürsten der Leviten soll Eleasar sein, der Sohn Aarons, des Priesters, zur Aufsicht über die, welche den Dienst am Heiligtum versehen.	And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.
33	Dies sind die Geschlechter Meraris: die Machliter und die Muschiter,	Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

36	Und ihr Amt soll sein, in Obhut zu nehmen die Bretter und Riegel und Säulen und Füße der Wohnung und alle ihre Geräte und was sonst zu ihrem Dienst gehört,	And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto,
37	dazu die Säulen um den Vorhof mit ihren Füßen und Pflöcken und Seilen.	And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
38	Aber vor der Wohnung, vor der Stiftshütte, nach Osten sollen sich lagern Mose und Aaron und seine Söhne, dass sie auf das Heiligtum achthaben für die Israeliten. Wenn sich ein Fremder naht, so soll er sterben.	But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
39	Alle Leviten zusammen, die Mose mit Aaron zählte nach ihren Geschlechtern nach dem Wort des Herrn, alles, was männlich war, einen Monat alt und darüber, waren 22000.	All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the Lord, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.
40	Die Auslösung der Erstgeburt Und der Herr sprach zu Mose: Zähle alle Erstgeburt, was männlich ist unter den Israeliten, einen Monat alt und darüber, und nimm die Zahl ihrer Namen auf.	And the Lord said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
41	Und du sollst mir die Leviten geben – denn ich bin der Herr – statt aller Erstgeburt der Israeliten und das Vieh der Leviten statt aller Erstgeburt unter dem Vieh der Israeliten.	And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the Lord) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.
42	Und Mose zählte, wie ihm der Herr geboten hatte, alle Erstgeburt unter den Israeliten,	And Moses numbered, as the Lord commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.
43	und die Zahl der Namen aller männlichen Erstgeburt, einen Monat alt und darüber, betrug 22273.	And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.
44	Und der Herr redete mit Mose und sprach:	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
45	Nimm die Leviten statt aller Erstgeburt unter den Israeliten und das Vieh der Leviten statt ihres Viehs, dass die Leviten mir gehören sollen. Ich bin der Herr.	Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.
46	Aber als Lösegeld für die 273 Erstgeburten der Israeliten, die die Zahl der Leviten übersteigen,	And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;
47	sollst du fünf Schekel Silber erheben für jeden Kopf. Nach dem Gewicht, wie es am Heiligtum gilt, sollst du sie erheben, der Schekel zu zwanzig Gramm.	Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them: (the shekel is twenty gerahs:)
48	Und du sollst das Silber für die, welche überzählig sind unter ihnen, Aaron und seinen Söhnen als Lösegeld geben.	And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.
49	Da nahm Mose das Lösegeld von denen, die die Zahl der Leviten überstiegen.	And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:
50	Von den Erstgeborenen der Israeliten nahm er 1365 Schekel Silber nach dem Gewicht, wie es am Heiligtum gilt,	Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:
51	und gab’s Aaron und seinen Söhnen nach dem Wort des Herrn, wie der Herr es Mose geboten hatte.	And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.
