| 1 | 사람들 가운데서 취한 대제사장마다 하나님께 속한 일들에서 사람들을 위하여 임명을 받나니 이것은 그가 죄들로 인해 예물과 희생물을 드리게 하려 함이라. | For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: |
| 2 | 그가 무지한 자들과 길에서 벗어난 자들을 불쌍히 여길 수 있음은 그 자신도 연약함에 싸여 있기 때문이라. | Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. |
| 3 | 이런 까닭에 그가 백성을 위하여 죄들로 인한 헌물을 드리는 것 같이 자신을 위하여도 드려야 함이 마땅하니라. | And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. |
| 4 | 이 존귀는 아무도 스스로 취하지 못하며 오직 아론과 같이 하나님의 부르심을 받은 자라야 취할 수 있느니라. | And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. |
| 5 | 이와 같이 그리스도께서도 자신을 영화롭게 하여 대제사장이 되지 아니하시고 그분께, 너는 내 아들이라. 오늘 내가 너를 낳았도다, 하신 분께서 그리되게 하셨느니라. | So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. |
| 6 | 이것은 그분께서 또한 다른 곳에서 이르시기를, 너는 멜기세덱의 계통에 따른 영원한 제사장이라, 하심과 같으니라. | As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. |
| 7 | 그분께서는 친히 육체로 거하던 때에 자기를 사망으로부터 능히 구원하실 분에게 강렬한 부르짖음과 눈물로 기도와 간구를 드리셨고 또 친히 두려워하셨으므로 하나님께서 들으셨느니라. | Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; |
| 8 | 그분께서 아들이실지라도 친히 고난 받으신 일들로 말미암아 순종하기를 배우사 | Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; |
| 9 | 완전하게 되셨으므로 자기에게 순종하는 모든 사람들에게 영원한 구원의 창시자가 되시고 | And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; |
| 10 | 하나님에 의해 멜기세덱의 계통에 따른 대제사장이라 불리셨느니라. | Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. |
| 11 | 멜기세덱에 관하여는 우리가 말할 것이 많으나 너희가 듣는 것이 둔하므로 말하기 어려우니라. | Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. |
| 12 | 시간으로 보건대 너희가 마땅히 가르치는 자가 되었어야 할 터이나 하나님의 말씀들의 첫째 기초 원리들을 남에게 다시 가르침을 받아야 할 필요가 너희에게 있나니 너희가 단단한 음식이 아니라 젖을 필요로 하는 자가 되었도다. | For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. |
| 13 | 젖을 사용하는 자마다 갓난아이이므로 의의 말씀에 능숙하지 못하니라. | For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. |
| 14 | 그러나 단단한 음식은 장성한 자들에게 속하나니 그들은 그것을 사용하여 자기 감각들을 단련시킴으로 선악을 분별하느니라. | But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. |
