| 1 | 그런데 전에 주께서 아브람에게 이르시되, 너는 네 고향과 친족과 아버지 집에서 나와 내가 네게 보여 줄 땅으로 가라. | Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: |
| 2 | 내가 너로부터 큰 민족을 만들고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 크게 하리니 네가 복이 되리라. | And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: |
| 3 | 너를 축복하는 자들에게는 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자에게는 저주를 내리리니 네 안에서 땅의 모든 가족들이 복을 받으리라, 하셨더라. | And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. |
| 4 | 이처럼 아브람이 주께서 자기에게 말씀하신 대로 떠나갔고 롯도 그와 함께 갔으며 아브람이 하란을 떠날 때에 칠십오 세였더라. | So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. |
| 5 | 아브람이 자기 아내 사래와 자기 조카 롯과 하란에서 그들이 모은 그들의 모든 소유와 또 그들이 얻은 혼들을 데리고 가니라. 그들이 가나안 땅으로 들어가려고 나아가 가나안 땅에 들어가니라. | And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. |
| 6 | ¶아브람이 그 땅을 통과하여 세겜이라는 곳에 들어가 모레의 평야에 이르렀는데 그때에 가나안 족속이 그 땅에 있더라. | And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. |
| 7 | 주께서 아브람에게 나타나 이르시되, 내가 이 땅을 네 씨에게 주리라, 하셨으므로 그가 자기에게 나타나신 주께 거기서 제단을 쌓고 | And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him. |
| 8 | 거기서 떠나 벧엘의 동쪽에 있는 산으로 이동하여 장막을 쳤는데 서쪽은 벧엘이요, 동쪽은 아이더라. 그가 거기서 주께 제단을 쌓고 주의 이름을 부르니라. | And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Beth–el, and pitched his tent, having Beth–el on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord. |
| 9 | 아브람이 이동하여 계속 남쪽을 향해 갔더라. | And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south. |
| 10 | ¶그 땅에 기근이 있었으므로 아브람이 이집트로 내려가 거기 머물려 하였으니 이는 그 땅에 기근이 심하였기 때문이더라. | And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land. |
| 11 | 그가 이집트에 가까이 이르러 들어가려 할 때에 자기 아내 사래에게 이르되, 이제 보라, 당신은 보기에 아름다운 여인임을 내가 아노라. | And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon: |
| 12 | 그러므로 이집트 사람들이 당신을 볼 때에 이르기를, 이 여인은 그의 아내라, 하고 나는 죽이되 당신은 살려 두리니 | Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. |
| 13 | 원하건대 당신은 내 누이라고 말하라. 그리하면 내가 당신으로 인하여 잘되고 내 혼이 당신으로 인하여 살리라, 하니라. | Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. |
| 14 | ¶아브람이 이집트로 들어갔을 때에 이집트 사람들이 그 여인을 보고 그녀가 심히 아름다운 것을 보았으며 | And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair. |
| 15 | 파라오의 통치자들도 그녀를 보고 파라오 앞에서 그녀를 칭찬하니라. 사람들이 그 여인을 파라오의 집으로 데려가매 | The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh’s house. |
| 16 | 그가 그녀로 인하여 아브람을 선대하므로 그가 양과 소와 수나귀와 남종과 여종과 암나귀와 낙타들을 얻었더라. | And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels. |
| 17 | 주께서 아브람의 아내 사래로 인하여 파라오와 그의 집에 큰 재앙들로 재앙을 내리시매 | And the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram’s wife. |
| 18 | 파라오가 아브람을 불러 이르되, 네가 내게 행한 이 일이 도대체 무엇이냐? 네가 어찌하여 그녀를 네 아내라고 내게 고하지 아니하였느냐? | And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife? |
| 19 | 네가 어찌하여, 그녀는 내 누이라, 하였느냐? 내가 그녀를 취해 내 아내로 삼을 뻔하였도다. 그런즉 이제 네 아내를 보고 그녀를 데리고 네 길로 가라, 하며 | Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way. |
| 20 | 파라오가 자기 사람들에게 그에 관하여 명령을 내리니 그들이 그와 그의 아내와 그의 모든 소유를 보내었더라. | And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had. |
