1 그러나, 오 야곱아, 너를 창조한 주가 이제 이같이 말하노라. 오 이스라엘아, 너를 지은 이가 말하노라. 두려워하지 말라. 내가 너를 구속하고 내가 너를 네 이름으로 불렀나니 너는 내 것이니라. But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 네가 물 가운데로 지나갈 때에 내가 너와 함께하리라. 강들을 건널 때에 강들이 네 위로 넘쳐흐르지 못하며 네가 불 속을 걸어갈 때에 타지도 아니하고 불꽃이 너를 사르지도 못하리니 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 나는 주 네 하나님이요, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이요, 네 구원자니라. 내가 이집트를 네 대속물로 주었고 에티오피아와 스바를 너를 대신하여 주었노라. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 너는 내 눈앞에서 귀중하므로 존귀한 자였으며 내가 너를 사랑하였은즉 내가 네 대신 사람들을 내주며 백성들을 내주어 네 생명을 대신하게 하리니 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
5 두려워하지 말라. 내가 너와 함께하느니라. 내가 네 씨를 동쪽에서부터 데려오고 너를 서쪽에서부터 모으리라. Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
6 내가 북쪽에게 이르기를, 내놓으라, 할 것이요, 남쪽에게 이르기를, 붙잡아 두지 말라. 내 아들들을 먼 곳에서 데려오고 내 딸들을 땅 끝에서 데려오라, 하리니 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
7 곧 내 이름으로 불리는 모든 자라. 내가 내 영광을 위하여 그를 창조하고 그를 지었으며 참으로 내가 그를 만들었느니라. Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
8 ¶눈이 있어도 눈이 먼 백성, 귀가 있어도 귀가 먹은 자를 이끌어 내라. Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
9 모든 민족들은 함께 모이고 백성들은 집결할지니라. 그들 가운데 누가 이 일을 밝히 드러내며 이전 일들을 우리에게 보일 수 있겠느냐? 그들은 자기들의 증인들을 내놓아 스스로 의롭게 되든지 혹은 듣고 말하기를, 그것은 진리라, 할지니라. Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
10 주가 말하노라. 너희는 나의 증인이요, 내가 택한 나의 종이니 이것은 너희가 나를 알고 나를 믿으며 내가 그인 줄 깨닫게 하려 함이라. 나 이전에 지어진 신이 없었으며 나 이후에도 없으리라. Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11 나 곧 나는 주니라. 나 외에 구원자가 없느니라. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.
12 내가 밝히 알리고 구원하며 보여 주었나니 그때에는 너희 가운데 다른 이방 신이 없었노라. 그러므로 너희는 나의 증인이요, 나는 하나님이니라. 주가 말하노라. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.
13 참으로 날이 있기 전부터 나는 그니 내 손에서부터 건져 낼 자가 없도다. 내가 일을 행하리니 누가 그것을 막으리요? Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
14 ¶너희의 구속자 이스라엘의 거룩한 이 곧 주가 이같이 말하노라. 내가 너희를 위해 바빌론에 사람을 보내어 배에서 부르짖는 그들의 모든 고귀한 자들과 갈대아 사람들을 끌어내렸느니라. Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.
15 나는 주 곧 너희의 거룩한 이요, 이스라엘의 창조자요, 너희 왕이니라. I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
16 주가 이같이 말하노라. 나는 바다 가운데 길을 내고 거센 물들 가운데 행로를 내며 Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17 병거와 말과 군대와 권능을 이끌어 내느니라. 그들이 함께 드러누워 일어나지 못하리니 그들은 생명이 끊어졌고 심지같이 불이 꺼졌느니라. Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18 ¶너희는 이전 일들을 기억하지 말며 옛날 일들을 깊이 생각하지 말라. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 보라, 내가 새 일을 행하리니 이제 그것이 솟아오르리라. 너희가 그것을 알지 못하겠느냐? 심지어 내가 광야에 길을 내며 사막에 강들을 내리니 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
20 들의 짐승 곧 용들과 올빼미들도 나를 존경하리라. 이는 내가 광야에 물들을 내고 사막에 강들을 내어 내 백성, 내가 택한 자들에게 마시게 할 것이기 때문이라. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
21 이 백성은 내가 나를 위하여 지었나니 그들이 내 찬양을 전하리로다. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
22 ¶오 야곱아, 그러나 너는 나를 부르지 아니하였고, 오 이스라엘아, 너는 내게 싫증을 냈느니라. But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.
23 네가 네 번제 헌물의 작은 가축도 내게 가져오지 아니하고 너의 희생물로 나를 존경하지도 아니하였느니라. 나는 너로 하여금 헌물로 나를 섬기게 하지 아니하고 분향하는 것으로 너를 지치게 하지 아니하였노라. Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
24 너는 나를 위하여 돈을 주고 향내 나는 갈대를 사지도 아니하고 네 희생물의 기름으로 나를 흡족하게 하지도 아니하였으며 오히려 나로 하여금 네 죄들을 가지고 섬기게 하고 네 불법들로 나를 지치게 하였느니라. Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
25 나 곧 나는 내 자신을 위하여 네 범법들을 지워 버리는 자니 내가 네 죄들을 기억하지 아니하리라. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
26 나로 하여금 기억하게 하라. 우리가 함께 변론하자. 너는 밝히 드러냄으로 의롭게 되라. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
27 네 처음 조상이 죄를 지었고 네 선생들이 내게 범법하였나니 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
28 그러므로 내가 성소의 통치자들을 욕되게 하며 야곱을 내주어 저주를 받게 하고 이스라엘을 내주어 모욕을 받게 하였노라. Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
