| 1 | 이새의 줄기에서 한 막대기가 나며 그의 뿌리에서 한 가지가 나서 자랄 것이요, | And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: |
| 2 | 주의 영 곧 지혜와 명철의 영이요, 계략과 능력의 영이요, 지식과 주의 두려움의 영께서 그 위에 머무시며 | And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; |
| 3 | 그로 하여금 주를 두려워하는 가운데 속히 깨닫게 하시리니 그는 자기 눈에 보이는 대로 판단하지 아니하고 자기 귀에 들리는 대로 책망하지 아니하며 | And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: |
| 4 | 오직 가난한 자들을 위해 의로 재판하고 땅의 온유한 자를 위해 공평으로 꾸짖으며 자기 입의 막대기로 땅을 치고 자기 입술의 숨으로 사악한 자를 죽이며 | But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. |
| 5 | 의로 자기 허리의 띠를 삼고 신실함으로 자기 콩팥 주위의 띠를 삼으리라. | And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. |
| 6 | 이리도 어린양과 함께 거하며 표범이 염소 새끼와 함께 누우며 송아지와 젊은 사자와 살진 짐승이 함께 있어 어린아이가 그것들을 인도하며 | The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. |
| 7 | 암소와 곰이 함께 먹으며 그것들의 새끼들이 함께 누우며 사자가 소처럼 풀을 먹으며 | And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. |
| 8 | 젖 먹는 아이가 독사의 구멍에서 놀며 젖 뗀 아이가 독사의 굴에 손을 넣을 것이로되 | And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. |
| 9 | 그것들이 내 거룩한 산 모든 곳에서 상하게 하거나 멸하지 아니하리니 이는 물들이 바다를 덮는 것 같이 주를 아는 지식이 땅에 충만할 것이기 때문이니라. | They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. |
| 10 | ¶그 날에 이새의 뿌리가 있어서 그것이 백성들의 기로 설 것이요, 이방인들이 그것을 찾으리니 그가 베푸는 안식이 영화로우리라. | And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. |
| 11 | 그 날에 주께서 다시 자신의 손을 두 번째 세우사 자신의 백성 중의 남은 자들 곧 남게 될 자들을 되찾되 아시리아와 이집트와 바드로스와 구스와 엘람과 시날과 하맛과 바다의 섬들로부터 되찾으실 것이요, | And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. |
| 12 | 또 그분께서 민족들을 위하여 기를 세우시고 이스라엘의 쫓긴 자들을 모으시며 땅의 사방에서부터 유다의 흩어진 자들을 함께 모으시리라. | And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. |
| 13 | 에브라임의 시기도 떠나가고 유다의 대적들도 끊어지며 에브라임은 유다를 시기하지 아니하고 유다는 에브라임을 괴롭히지 아니할 것이요, | The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. |
| 14 | 그들이 서쪽으로 날아가 블레셋 사람들의 어깨에 앉고 함께 동쪽 사람들을 노략하며 에돔과 모압에게 손을 대리니 암몬 자손이 그들에게 복종하리라. | But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. |
| 15 | 주께서 이집트 바다의 혀 같은 부분을 철저히 멸하시고 자신의 강한 바람과 더불어 자신의 손을 강 위로 흔드사 강을 치시고 일곱 갈래로 나누사 사람들이 신을 적시지 않고 건너가게 하시리라. | And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. |
| 16 | 아시리아를 떠난 그분의 백성 중의 남은 자들 즉 남아 있을 자들을 위하여 큰길이 생기리니 그것은 곧 이스라엘이 이집트 땅에서 나오던 날에 그에게 있었던 것과 같으리라. | And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt. |
