| 1 | 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김 시대에 주로부터 예레미야에게 임한 말씀이라. 이르시되, | The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, |
| 2 | 레갑 사람들의 집으로 가서 그들에게 말하고 그들을 주의 집으로 데려가 방들 중의 하나로 들어가게 하고 그들에게 포도주를 주어 마시게 하라, 하시니라. | Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink. |
| 3 | 이에 내가 하바시냐의 손자요, 예레미야의 아들인 야아사냐와 그의 형제들과 그의 모든 아들들과 레갑 사람들의 온 집을 데려가니라. | Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites; |
| 4 | 내가 그들을 주의 집으로 데려가 하나님의 사람 익달랴의 아들인 하난의 아들들의 방으로 들어가게 하였는데 그 방은 통치자들의 방 옆에 있으며 문을 지키는 자인 살룸의 아들 마아세야의 방 위에 있더라. | And I brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door: |
| 5 | 내가 레갑 사람들의 집에 속한 아들들 앞에 포도주가 가득 담긴 단지들과 잔들을 놓고 그들에게 이르기를, 너희는 포도주를 마시라, 하였으나 | And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine. |
| 6 | 그들이 이르되, 우리는 포도주를 마시지 아니하리라. 우리 조상 레갑의 아들 요나답이 우리에게 명령하여 이르기를, 너희와 너희 아들들은 영원히 포도주를 마시지 말라. | But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever: |
| 7 | 너희는 집도 짓지 말며 씨도 뿌리지 말고 포도원을 세우지도 말며 아무것도 소유하지 말고 평생 동안 장막에 거하라. 그리하면 너희가 나그네로 지내는 땅에서 너희가 오래 살리라, 하였으므로 | Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any: but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers. |
| 8 | 우리가 이와 같이 우리 조상 레갑의 아들 요나답이 우리에게 명한 모든 일에서 그의 음성에 순종하여 우리와 우리의 아내들과 우리의 아들들과 우리의 딸들이 우리의 평생 동안 포도주를 마시지 아니하고 | Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters; |
| 9 | 우리를 위하여 거할 집들도 짓지 아니하며 포도원이나 밭이나 씨도 소유하지 아니하고 | Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: |
| 10 | 오직 장막에 거하여 우리 조상 요나답이 우리에게 명령한 모든 것에 따라 순종하고 행하였노라. | But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. |
| 11 | 그러나 바빌론 왕 느부갓레살이 이 땅에 올라왔을 때에 우리가 말하기를, 오라, 갈대아 사람들의 군대와 시리아 사람들의 군대가 두려우니 우리가 예루살렘으로 가자, 하고 이처럼 예루살렘에 거하노라, 하니라. | But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem. |
| 12 | ¶그때에 주의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라. 이르시되, | Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying, |
| 13 | 만군의 주 곧 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 가서 유다 사람들과 예루살렘 거주민들에게 이르기를, 너희가 내 말들에 귀를 기울이기 위해 교훈을 받지 아니하겠느냐? 주가 말하노라. | Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord. |
| 14 | 레갑의 아들 요나답의 말들 곧 그가 자기 아들들에게 포도주를 마시지 말라고 명령한 그 말들은 이행되었나니 이 날까지 그들이 전혀 마시지 아니하고 오직 자기들의 조상의 명령에 순종하느니라. 그럼에도 불구하고 내가 일찍 일어나 너희에게 말하고 말하였으나 너희가 내 말에 귀를 기울이지 아니하였도다. | The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father’s commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me. |
| 15 | 또 내가 나의 종 모든 대언자들을 너희에게 보내고 일찍 일어나 그들을 보내며 이르기를, 이제 너희는 각각 자기의 악한 길에서 돌이켜 너희 행위들을 고치고 다른 신들을 따라가며 그들을 섬기지 말라. 그리하면 내가 너희와 너희 조상들에게 준 땅에 너희가 거하리라, 하였으나 너희는 귀를 기울이지 아니하고 내 말을 듣지 아니하였느니라. | I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. |
| 16 | 레갑의 아들 요나답의 아들들은 자기들의 조상이 자기들에게 명령한 그 명령을 이행하였거니와 이 백성은 내 말에 귀를 기울이지 아니하였도다. | Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me: |
| 17 | 그러므로 주 만군의 하나님 곧 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 거주민을 향해 선언한 모든 재앙을 그들에게 내리리니 내가 그들에게 말하여도 그들이 듣지 아니하였으며 그들을 불러도 그들이 대답하지 아니하였느니라, 하라. | Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered. |
| 18 | ¶예레미야가 레갑 사람들의 집에게 이르되, 만군의 주 곧 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 너희가 너희 조상 요나답의 명령에 순종하여 그의 모든 훈계를 지키고 그가 너희에게 명령한 모든 것에 따라 행하였도다. | And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you: |
| 19 | 그러므로 만군의 주 곧 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 내 앞에 설 사람이 레갑의 아들 요나답에게 영원히 끊어지지 아니하리라, 하니라. | Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever. |
