1 오 주여, 내가 주와 변론할 때에 주께서는 의로우시니이다. 그럼에도 내가 주의 심판들에 대하여 주께 아뢰고자 하오니 어찌하여 사악한 자들의 길이 형통하니이까? 어찌하여 크게 배신하는 자들이 다 행복하니이까? Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
2 주께서 그들을 심으셨으므로 참으로 그들이 뿌리를 내렸고 그들이 자라서 참으로 열매를 맺나니 그들이 입으로는 주와 가까이 있으나 속 중심에서는 멀리 있나이다. Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.
3 그러나, 오 주여, 주께서는 나를 아시고 나를 보셨으며 주를 향한 내 마음을 시험하셨사오니 도살할 양같이 그들을 끌어내시고 살육하는 날을 위하여 그들을 예비하옵소서. But thou, O Lord, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.
4 땅이 그 안에 거하는 자들의 사악함으로 인하여 어느 때까지 애곡하며 모든 들판의 채소가 시들리이까? 짐승들과 새들이 소멸되었사오니 이는 그들이 말하기를, 그분께서 우리의 마지막 끝을 보지 못하시리라, 하였기 때문이니이다. How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end.
5 ¶네가 보병들과 달릴 때에 그들이 너를 지치게 하였거늘 어찌 네가 능히 말들과 겨루겠느냐? 또 네가 신뢰하던 화평의 땅에서도 그들이 너를 지치게 하였거늘 요르단이 넘치는 속에서 네가 어찌하겠느냐? If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
6 심지어 네 형제들과 네 아버지의 집도 너를 배신하였고 참으로 그들이 무리를 불러 네 뒤를 따르게 하였나니 그들이 네게 좋은 말을 할지라도 그들을 믿지 말지니라. For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; yea, they have called a multitude after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.
7 ¶내가 내 집을 버리고 내 유산을 버려두며 내 혼이 극진히 사랑하는 자를 그녀의 원수들의 손에 넘겨주었나니 I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
8 내 유산이 내게 숲의 사자같이 되어 나를 향해 울부짖으므로 내가 그것을 미워하였느니라. Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me: therefore have I hated it.
9 내 유산이 내게 점 있는 새 같으매 주위의 새들이 그녀를 대적하나니 너희는 와서 들의 모든 짐승을 모으고 와서 삼킬지어다. Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
10 많은 목양자들이 내 포도원을 부수고 내 몫을 발밑에서 짓밟으며 내가 기뻐하는 몫을 황폐한 광야로 만들었도다. Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
11 그들이 그것을 황폐하게 만들었으므로 그것이 황폐하게 되어 나를 향해 슬퍼하는도다. 온 땅이 황폐하게 됨은 아무도 그것을 마음에 두지 아니하기 때문이로다. They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
12 노략하는 자들이 광야를 지나 모든 높은 곳에 이르렀나니 주의 칼이 그 땅의 이 끝에서 그 땅의 저 끝까지 삼키리라. 어떤 육체도 평안을 얻지 못하리로다. The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the Lord shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
13 그들이 밀을 심었어도 가시를 거두고 스스로 고통스럽게 하여도 이득을 얻지 못하리라. 그들이 주의 맹렬한 분노로 인하여 너희 소산으로 말미암아 부끄러움을 당하리라. They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
14 ¶주가 나의 모든 악한 이웃 곧 내가 내 백성 이스라엘로 하여금 상속받게 한 상속 재산에 손을 대는 자들에 대하여 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 그들을 그들의 땅에서 뽑아내고 유다의 집을 그들 가운데서 뽑아내리라. Thus saith the Lord against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
15 그들을 뽑아낸 뒤에 내가 돌이켜 그들을 불쌍히 여기고 그들 각 사람을 그의 유산으로, 각 사람을 그의 땅으로 다시 데려가리라. And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.
16 그들이 내 백성의 길들을 부지런히 배워, 주께서 살아 계신다, 하면서 내 이름으로 맹세하기를 자기들이 내 백성을 가르쳐 바알을 두고 맹세하게 한 것 같이 하면 내 백성의 한가운데서 세워지려니와 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The Lord liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.
17 만일 그들이 순종하지 아니하면 내가 그 민족을 철저히 뽑아내고 멸하리라. 주가 말하노라. But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the Lord.
