1 그때에 주의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 예후에게 임하여 바아사를 대적하며 이르시되, Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
2 내가 너를 먼지 속에서 들어 올려 내 백성 이스라엘을 다스릴 통치자가 되게 하였는데 네가 여로보암의 길로 걸으며 내 백성 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 하여 그들의 죄들로 내 분노를 일으켰은즉 Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
3 보라, 내가 바아사의 후손과 그의 집 후손을 제거하여 네 집을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집같이 되게 하리니 Behold, I will take away the posterity of Baasha, and the posterity of his house; and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
4 바아사에게 속한 자 중에서 도시에서 죽는 자는 개들이 먹고 그에게 속한 자 중에서 들에서 죽는 자는 공중의 날짐승들이 먹으리라, 하셨더라. Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the fields shall the fowls of the air eat.
5 이제 바아사의 나머지 행적과 그가 행한 일과 그의 권력은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기 책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
6 이처럼 바아사가 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들어 디르사에 묻히니 그의 아들 엘라가 그를 대신하여 통치하니라. So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
7 또한 주의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 대언자 예후의 손으로 바아사와 그의 집을 대적하여 임하였으니 이는 그가 여로보암의 집을 본받아 주의 눈앞에서 모든 악을 행하고 자기 손의 일로 그분의 분노를 일으켰기 때문이며 또 그를 죽였기 때문이더라. And also by the hand of the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the Lord against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord, in provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
8 ¶유다 왕 아사의 제이십육년에 바아사의 아들 엘라가 디르사에서 이스라엘을 통치하기 시작하여 이 년 동안 통치하니라. In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
9 그가 디르사에 있으면서 디르사에 있던 자기 집의 청지기 아르사의 집에서 마시고 취하였을 때에 그의 신하 곧 그의 병거들 절반의 대장 시므리가 그를 대적하여 음모를 꾸미니라. And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah.
10 시므리가 들어가 그를 쳐서 죽이고 유다 왕 아사의 제이십칠년에 그를 대신하여 통치하니라. And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
11 ¶그가 통치하기 시작하여 자기 왕좌에 앉고는 곧바로 바아사의 온 집을 죽이되 담에다 소변보는 자는 그의 친족이든지 그의 친구든지 하나도 남기지 아니하니라. And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
12 시므리가 이같이 바아사의 온 집을 멸하되 주께서 대언자 예후를 통해 바아사를 대적하여 하신 말씀대로 하였으니 Thus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
13 이는 바아사의 모든 죄와 그의 아들 엘라의 죄들로 인함이라. 그들이 이 죄들을 짓고 또 그것들을 써서 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 하여 그들의 헛된 것으로 주 이스라엘의 하나님의 분노를 일으켰더라. For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
14 이제 엘라의 나머지 행적과 그가 행한 모든 일은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기 책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
15 ¶유다 왕 아사의 제이십칠년에 시므리가 디르사에서 이레 동안 통치하니라. 백성이 블레셋 사람들에게 속한 깁브돈을 향하여 진을 치고 있더라. In the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
16 진을 친 백성이 시므리가 음모를 꾸미고 또 왕을 죽였다 하는 말을 들었으므로 그 날에 온 이스라엘이 진영에서 군대 대장 오므리를 이스라엘을 다스릴 왕으로 삼으매 And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.
17 오므리가 온 이스라엘을 거느린 채 깁브돈에서 올라오고 그들이 디르사를 에워쌌더라. And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
18 시므리가 도시가 점령된 것을 보고 왕의 집 궁궐로 들어가 왕의 집을 태우고 불에 덮여서 죽었으니 And it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the palace of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
19 이는 그가 주의 눈앞에서 악을 행하는 가운데 지은 죄들로 인함이라. 그가 여로보암의 길로 걸었으며 또 여로보암이 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 하려고 행한 그의 죄 가운데서 걸었더라. For his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of the Lord, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
20 이제 시므리의 나머지 행적과 그가 반역한 것은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기 책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
21 ¶그때에 이스라엘 백성이 둘로 나뉘어 백성의 절반은 기낫의 아들 디브니를 왕으로 삼으려고 그를 따랐고 절반은 오므리를 따랐으나 Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
22 오므리를 따른 백성이 기낫의 아들 디브니를 따른 백성을 이기니라. 이에 디브니가 죽으매 오므리가 통치하니라. But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
23 ¶유다 왕 아사의 제삼십일년에 오므리가 이스라엘을 통치하기 시작하여 십이 년 동안 통치하였으며 디르사에서 육 년 동안 통치하니라. In the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.
24 그가 은 이 달란트로 세멜에게서 사마리아 산을 사서 그 산 위에 도시를 건축하고 자기가 건축한 도시의 이름을 그 산의 주인이던 세멜의 이름을 따라 사마리아라 부르니라. And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.
25 ¶그러나 오므리가 주의 눈에 악을 행하되 자기 이전에 있던 모든 사람보다 더욱 악하게 행하였으니 But Omri wrought evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all that were before him.
26 그가 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 길로 걸었으며 또 여로보암이 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 할 때 이용한 그의 죄 가운데서 걸어 그들의 헛된 것으로 주 이스라엘의 하나님의 분노를 일으켰더라. For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
27 이제 오므리가 행한 나머지 행적과 그가 보여 준 그의 권력은 이스라엘 왕들의 연대기 책에 기록되어 있지 아니하냐? Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he shewed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
28 이처럼 오므리가 자기 조상들과 함께 잠들어 사마리아에 묻히니 그의 아들 아합이 그를 대신하여 통치하니라. So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
29 ¶유다 왕 아사의 제삼십팔년에 오므리의 아들 아합이 이스라엘을 통치하기 시작하니라. 오므리의 아들 아합이 사마리아에서 이십이 년 동안 이스라엘을 통치하니라. And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
30 오므리의 아들 아합이 자기 이전에 있던 모든 사람보다 더 주의 눈앞에서 악을 행하였더라. And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.
31 그가 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄들 가운데서 걷는 것을 가벼운 일로 여기고 시돈 사람들의 왕 엣바알의 딸 이세벨을 아내로 삼으며 또 가서 바알을 섬겨 그에게 경배하고 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.
32 자기가 사마리아에 건축한 바알의 집에 바알을 위하여 제단을 쌓으며 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
33 또 작은 숲을 만들었으니 아합이 자기 이전에 있던 이스라엘의 모든 왕보다 주 이스라엘의 하나님의 분노를 더 많이 일으켰더라. And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
34 ¶그의 시대에 벧엘 사람 히엘이 여리고를 건축하였는데 주께서 눈의 아들 여호수아를 통하여 하신 말씀에 따라 그가 그것의 기초를 놓을 때에 자기의 맏아들 아비람을 잃고 그것의 문들을 세울 때에 자기의 막내아들 스굽을 잃었더라. In his days did Hiel the Beth–elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.
