1 이제 이스라엘 자손이 그들의 수대로 이러하니 곧 우두머리 아버지들과 천인 대장들과 백인 대장들과 또 여러 조의 모든 일에서 왕을 섬긴 그들의 직무 수행자들의 수가 이러하니라. 그들은 해마다 모든 달 내내 달별로 들어오고 나갔는데 각 조에 속한 자가 이만 사천 명이더라. Now the children of Israel after their number, to wit, the chief fathers and captains of thousands and hundreds, and their officers that served the king in any matter of the courses, which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, of every course were twenty and four thousand.
2 첫째 달 첫째 조를 다스리는 자는 삽디엘의 아들 야소브암이요, 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. Over the first course for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
3 베레스의 자손 중에서 첫째 달 군대의 모든 대장의 우두머리가 나왔고 Of the children of Perez was the chief of all the captains of the host for the first month.
4 둘째 달 조를 다스리는 자는 아호아 사람 도대요, 또한 미글롯이 그의 조의 치리자가 되었는데 그의 조에도 마찬가지로 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. And over the course of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and of his course was Mikloth also the ruler: in his course likewise were twenty and four thousand.
5 셋째 달을 맡은 군대의 셋째 대장은 수제사장 여호야다의 아들 브나야요, 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The third captain of the host for the third month was Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, a chief priest: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
6 이 사람은 서른 명 가운데 용사인 그 브나야로서 그 서른 명 위에 있었으며 그의 조 안에 그의 아들 암미사밧이 있었더라. This is that Benaiah, who was mighty among the thirty, and above the thirty: and in his course was Ammizabad his son.
7 넷째 달의 넷째 대장은 요압의 동생 아사헬이요, 그 다음은 그의 아들 스바댜며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
8 다섯째 달의 다섯째 대장은 이스라 사람 삼훗이며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
9 여섯째 달의 여섯째 대장은 드고아 사람 익게스의 아들 이라며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
10 일곱째 달의 일곱째 대장은 에브라임 자손에게 속한 벨론 사람 헬레스며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
11 여덟째 달의 여덟째 대장은 세라 족속에게 속한 후사 사람 십브개며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
12 아홉째 달의 아홉째 대장은 베냐민 족속에게 속한 아나돗 사람 아비에셀이며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anetothite, of the Benjamites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
13 열째 달의 열째 대장은 세라 족속에게 속한 느도바 사람 마하래며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zarhites: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
14 열한째 달의 열한째 대장은 에브라임 자손에게 속한 비라돈 사람 브나야며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
15 열두째 달의 열두째 대장은 옷니엘에게 속한 느도바 사람 헬대며 그의 조에 이만 사천 명이 있었더라. The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.
16 ¶또한 이스라엘 지파들을 다스리는 자는 이러하니라. 르우벤 족속의 치리자는 시그리의 아들 엘리에셀이요, 시므온 족속의 치리자는 마아가의 아들 스바댜요, Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri: of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah:
17 레위 족속의 치리자는 그무엘의 아들 하사비야요, 아론 족속의 치리자는 사독이요, Of the Levites, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel: of the Aaronites, Zadok:
18 유다의 치리자는 다윗의 형들 중의 하나인 엘리후요, 잇사갈의 치리자는 미가엘의 아들 오므리요, Of Judah, Elihu, one of the brethren of David: of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael:
19 스불론의 치리자는 오바댜의 아들 이스마야요, 납달리의 치리자는 아스리엘의 아들 여레못이요, Of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah: of Naphtali, Jerimoth the son of Azriel:
20 에브라임 자손의 치리자는 아사시야의 아들 호세아요, 므낫세 반 지파의 치리자는 브다야의 아들 요엘이요, Of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah: of the half tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah:
21 길르앗에 있던 므낫세 반 지파의 치리자는 스가랴의 아들 잇도요, 베냐민의 치리자는 아브넬의 아들 야아시엘이요, Of the half tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah: of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner:
22 단의 치리자는 여로함의 아들 아사르엘이니 이들이 이스라엘 지파들의 통치자였더라. Of Dan, Azareel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.
23 ¶그러나 다윗이 그들 중에서 스무 살이 되지 않은 자들의 수는 세지 아니하였으니 이는 주께서 전에 친히 이스라엘을 하늘들의 별들같이 불어나게 하리라고 말씀하셨기 때문이더라. But David took not the number of them from twenty years old and under: because the Lord had said he would increase Israel like to the stars of the heavens.
24 스루야의 아들 요압이 수를 세기 시작하였으나 끝내지 못하였으니 이는 그 일로 인하여 진노가 이스라엘에게 임하였기 때문이라. 그 수는 다윗 왕의 연대기 기록에 들어가지 아니하였더라. Joab the son of Zeruiah began to number, but he finished not, because there fell wrath for it against Israel; neither was the number put in the account of the chronicles of king David.
25 ¶한편 아디엘의 아들 아스마벳은 왕의 보고를 맡았고 웃시야의 아들 여호나단은 밭과 도시와 마을과 성채의 저장고를 맡았더라. And over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
26 또 글룹의 아들 에스리는 땅을 갈기 위해 밭일 하는 자들을 맡았고 And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:
27 라맛 사람 시므이는 포도원을 맡았으며 스밤 사람 삽디는 포도즙 창고에 들어갈 포도원의 소출을 맡았더라. And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
28 또 게델 사람 바알하난은 낮은 평야의 올리브나무와 돌무화과나무를 맡았고 요아스는 기름 창고를 맡았으며 And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baal–hanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:
29 샤론 사람 시드래는 샤론에서 먹인 소 떼를 맡았고 아들래의 아들 사밧은 골짜기에 있던 소 떼를 맡았더라. And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
30 또한 이스마엘 족속 오빌은 낙타를 맡았고 메로놋 사람 예드야는 나귀를 맡았으며 Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
31 하갈 사람 야시스는 양 떼를 맡았더라. 이들은 다 다윗 왕의 재산을 맡아 관리하는 자들이었더라. And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David’s.
32 또 다윗의 숙부 요나단은 조언자요 지혜로운 자로서 서기관이 되었고 학모니의 아들 여히엘은 왕의 아들들과 함께하였으며 Also Jonathan David’s uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons:
33 아히도벨은 왕의 조언자가 되었고 아렉 사람 후새는 왕의 벗이 되었으며 And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion:
34 브나야의 아들 여호야다와 아비아달은 아히도벨 다음이 되었고 요압은 왕의 군대의 대장이 되었더라. And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king’s army was Joab.
