1 그때에 다윗이 이르되, 이것은 주 하나님의 집이요, 이것은 이스라엘을 위한 번제 헌물 제단이라, 하였더라. Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
2 다윗이 명령하여 이스라엘 땅에 있던 타국인들을 함께 모으고 또 석공들을 시켜 하나님의 집을 건축하기 위해 다듬은 돌들을 깎게 하며 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
3 다윗이 또 바깥문의 문들에 쓸 못과 이음쇠로 쓸 쇠를 풍족히 예비하고 또 무게를 달 수 없을 정도로 많은 놋을 예비하며 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
4 또 백향목을 풍족히 예비하였으니 시돈 사람들과 두로 사람들이 백향목을 다윗에게로 많이 가져왔더라. Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
5 다윗이 이르되, 내 아들 솔로몬은 어리고 연약한데 주를 위해 건축할 집은 반드시 지극히 장엄하고 모든 나라에 두루 명성과 영광을 나타내야 하리니 그러므로 내가 이제 그 집을 위해 예비하리라, 하고 죽기 전에 이처럼 풍족하게 예비하였더라. And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
6 ¶그때에 다윗이 자기 아들 솔로몬을 불러 주 이스라엘의 하나님을 위해 집을 건축할 것을 그에게 명하고 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.
7 솔로몬에게 이르되, 내 아들아, 나로 말하건대 주 내 하나님의 이름을 위해 집을 건축하려는 생각이 내게 있었으나 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God:
8 주의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되, 너는 피를 심히 많이 흘렸고 큰 싸움을 많이 하였느니라. 네가 내 눈앞에서 땅에 피를 많이 흘렸은즉 내 이름을 위해 집을 건축하지 못하리라. But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
9 보라, 네게 한 아들이 태어나리니 그는 안식의 사람이 되리라. 내가 그에게 안식을 주고 사방에 있는 그의 모든 원수로부터 벗어나게 하리라. 그의 이름이 솔로몬이 되리니 내가 그의 날들에 화평과 안정을 이스라엘에게 주리라. Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10 그가 내 이름을 위해 집을 건축하리라. 그는 내 아들이 되고 나는 그의 아버지가 되어 그의 왕국의 왕좌를 영원토록 이스라엘 위에 굳게 세우리라, 하셨느니라. He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
11 이제 내 아들아, 주께서 너와 함께 계시기를 원하노니 너는 형통하여 그분께서 너에 관해 말씀하신 대로 주 네 하나님의 집을 건축하라. Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath said of thee.
12 오직 주께서 네게 지혜와 명철을 주시고 이스라엘에 관한 책무를 주사 네가 주 네 하나님의 율법을 지키게 하시기를 원하노라. Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.
13 그때에 네가 만일 주께서 이스라엘에 관하여 모세에게 명하신 법규와 판단의 법도를 이루려고 주의를 기울이면 형통하리니 마음을 강하게 하고 크게 용기를 내어 두려워하지 말며 놀라지 말지어다. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
14 이제, 보라, 내가 고난 중에 주의 집을 위해 금 십만 달란트와 은 백만 달란트를 예비하고 또 놋과 쇠는 풍족하여 무게를 달 수 없을 만큼 예비하였으며 또 재목과 돌을 예비하였으니 너는 거기에 더할지니라. Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
15 또 기술자가 네게 많이 있나니 곧 돌과 재목을 다듬는 자들과 그것으로 일하는 자들과 모든 종류의 일에 재주가 있는 온갖 종류의 사람들이니라. Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
16 금과 은과 놋과 쇠가 수도 없이 많으니 그러므로 일어나 일을 하라. 주께서 너와 함께 계시기를 원하노라, 하니라. Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.
17 ¶다윗이 또한 이스라엘의 모든 통치자들에게 명령하여 자기 아들 솔로몬을 돕게 하며 이르되, David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
18 주 너희 하나님께서 너희와 함께 계시지 아니하냐? 그분께서 사방에서 너희에게 안식을 주지 아니하셨느냐? 그분께서 그 땅의 거주민들을 내 손에 넘겨주셨나니 그 땅이 주와 그분의 백성 앞에서 정복되었느니라. Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people.
19 이제 너희 마음과 혼을 고정하여 주 너희 하나님을 구하라. 너희는 이런 까닭에 일어나서 주 하나님의 성소를 건축하고 주의 언약 궤와 하나님의 거룩한 기구들을 가져다가 주의 이름을 위하여 건축할 집에 들여 놓을지니라, 하였더라. Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.
