| 1 | 오 당신이 내 어머니의 젖을 빤 내 형제라면 얼마나 좋을까! 그러면 내가 밖에서 당신을 만날 때에 당신에게 입을 맞추었을 것이요, 그리하여도 참으로 멸시받지 아니하였으리라. | O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. |
| 2 | 또 내가 당신을 인도하여 내 어머니의 집으로 데려가고 당신은 나를 훈계하였으리라. 내가 당신으로 하여금 내 석류 즙이 든 향기로운 포도즙을 마시게 하였으리니 | I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. |

I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee. |
| 6 | ¶나를 도장같이 네 마음에 새기고 도장같이 네 팔에 새기라. 사랑은 죽음같이 강하고 질투는 무덤같이 잔인하니 그것의 숯은 극히 맹렬한 불꽃을 지닌 불붙은 숯이니라. | Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. |

| 11 | 솔로몬이 바알하몬에서 포도원을 소유하고는 그 포도원을 지키는 자들에게 세주고 각 사람이 그것의 열매의 대가로 은 천 개를 가져오게 하였도다. | Solomon had a vineyard at Baal–hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver. |
