1 그때에 우리가 돌아서 바산에 이르는 길로 올라가매 바산 왕 옥이 자기의 온 백성을 거느리고 나와 우리를 대적하여 에드레이에서 싸우니라. Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2 주께서 내게 이르시되, 그를 두려워하지 말라. 내가 그와 그의 온 백성과 그의 땅을 네 손에 넘겨주리니 너는 헤스본에 거하던 아모리 족속의 왕 시혼에게 행한 것 같이 그에게 행할지니라, 하시고 And the Lord said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
3 이처럼 주 우리 하나님께서 바산 왕 옥과 그의 온 백성도 우리 손에 넘겨주시매 우리가 그를 쳐서 마침내 한 사람도 그에게 남지 않게 하였느니라. So the Lord our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.
4 그때에 우리가 그의 모든 도시를 빼앗았으니 우리가 그들에게서 빼앗지 아니한 도시가 하나도 없었느니라. 그 도시들은 예순 개며 아르곱의 온 지방 곧 바산에 있는 옥의 왕국에 속한 도시들이니라. And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5 이 모든 도시들은 높은 성벽으로 둘러싸이고 문과 빗장이 있었으며 그 외에도 성벽 없는 고을이 매우 많았느니라. All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.
6 우리가 헤스본 왕 시혼에게 행한 것 같이 그 도시들을 진멸하되 각 도시의 남자와 여자와 아이들을 진멸하였으며 And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.
7 다만 모든 가축과 그 도시들에서 노략한 것은 우리의 탈취물로 삼았느니라. But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.
8 그때에 우리가 요르단 이편에 있던 땅을 아르논 강에서부터 헤르몬 산에 이르기까지 아모리 족속의 두 왕의 손에서 빼앗았는데 And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon;
9 (그 헤르몬을 시돈 사람은 시룐이라 부르고 아모리 족속은 스닐이라 부르느니라.) (Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)
10 우리가 빼앗은 것은 평야의 모든 도시와 온 길르앗과 온 바산으로 바산에 있는 옥의 왕국의 도시 살가와 에드레이까지니 All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11 이는 거인들의 남은 자들 중에서 남아 있던 자가 오직 바산 왕 옥뿐이었기 때문이라. 보라, 그의 침상 틀은 쇠 침상 틀이었느니라. 그것이 암몬 자손의 랍바스에 있지 아니하냐? 사람의 큐빗으로 재면 그것의 길이가 구 큐빗이요, 그것의 너비가 사 큐빗이니라. For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.
12 그때에 우리가 소유한 이 땅 곧 아르논 강 옆의 아로엘에서부터 길르앗 산의 절반과 그것의 도시들을 내가 르우벤 족속과 갓 족속에게 주었고 And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.
13 길르앗의 남은 땅과 옥의 왕국인 온 바산을 므낫세 반 지파에게 주었나니 곧 온 바산을 포함한 아르곱의 모든 지방이라. 이곳은 사람들이 거인들의 땅이라 부르던 곳이라. And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.
14 므낫세의 아들 야일이 그술 족속과 마아가 족속의 지경에까지 이르는 아르곱의 모든 지역을 점령하고 자기 이름을 따서 그것들을 바산하봇야일이라 부르니 이 날까지 이르느니라. Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan–havoth–jair, unto this day.
15 내가 마길에게 길르앗을 주었고 And I gave Gilead unto Machir.
16 르우벤 족속과 갓 족속에게는 길르앗에서부터 아르논 강까지 골짜기의 반을 주었는데 그 경계는 암몬 자손의 경계인 얍복 강까지니라. And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
17 또 평야와 요르단과 그것의 지경이니 곧 긴네렛에서부터 평야의 바다 즉 동쪽으로 아스돗비스가 밑의 염해까지의 지역이니라. The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdoth–pisgah eastward.
18 ¶그때에 내가 너희에게 명령하여 이르기를, 주 너희 하나님께서 이 땅을 너희에게 주사 소유하게 하셨은즉 싸울 수 있는 모든 자들은 무장하고 너희 형제 이스라엘 자손보다 앞서 건너가되 And I commanded you at that time, saying, The Lord your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
19 (너희에게 가축이 많은 줄 내가 아노니) 너희 아내들과 어린것들과 가축은 내가 너희에게 준 너희 도시들에 머무르라. But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
20 마침내 주께서 너희에게 안식을 주신 것 같이 너희 형제들에게 안식을 주사 마침내 그들 또한 요르단 건너편에서 주 너희 하나님께서 그들에게 주시는 땅을 소유하게 될 때에 너희 각 사람은 내가 전에 너희에게 준 자기 소유로 돌아갈 것이니라, 하였느니라. Until the Lord have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the Lord your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
21 ¶그때에 내가 여호수아에게 명령하여 이르기를, 주 너희 하나님께서 이 두 왕에게 행하신 모든 일을 네 눈이 보았거니와 네가 지나가는 모든 왕국에도 주께서 그와 같이 행하시리니 And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the Lord do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
22 너희는 그들을 두려워하지 말라. 주 너희 하나님 그분께서 너희를 위하여 싸우시리라, 하였노라. Ye shall not fear them: for the Lord your God he shall fight for you.
23 그때에 내가 주께 간청하여 이르기를, And I besought the Lord at that time, saying,
24 오 주 하나님이여, 주께서 주의 위대하심과 주의 강한 손을 주의 종에게 보여 주기 시작하셨사오니 하늘이나 땅의 어떤 신이 능히 주께서 행하신 일과 주의 크신 능력과 같이 행할 수 있사오리이까? O Lord God, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?
25 원하옵나니 내가 건너가서 요르단 건너편의 좋은 땅 곧 저 좋은 산과 레바논을 보게 하옵소서, 하였으되 I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.
26 주께서 너희로 인하여 내게 진노하사 내 말을 들으려 하지 아니하시고 주께서 내게 이르시기를, 그만하면 네게 충분하니 이 일로 다시는 내게 말하지 말라. But the Lord was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the Lord said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.
27 너는 비스가 꼭대기에 올라가서 눈을 들어 서쪽과 북쪽과 남쪽과 동쪽을 바라보고 네 눈으로 그 땅을 보라. 네가 이 요르단을 건너지 못하리라. Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
28 오직 너는 여호수아에게 책무를 주고 그의 용기를 북돋우며 그를 강건하게 하라. 그가 이 백성의 앞에서 건너가 그들로 하여금 네가 볼 땅을 상속하게 하리라, 하셨느니라. But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.
29 그러므로 우리가 벧브올 맞은편 골짜기에 거하였느니라. So we abode in the valley over against Beth–peor.
