| 1 | 너희 가운데 대언자나 꿈꾸는 자가 일어나 표적이나 이적을 네게 보이고 | If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, |
| 2 | 그가 네게 말한 그 표적이나 이적이 이루어질 때에 이르기를, 네가 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 우리가 따라가서 그들을 섬기자, 할지라도 | And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; |
| 3 | 너는 그 대언자나 그 꿈꾸는 자의 말들에 귀를 기울이지 말라. 주 너희 하나님께서 너희가 너희 마음을 다하고 혼을 다하여 주 너희 하나님을 사랑하는지 알기 위해 너희를 시험하시느니라. | Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. |
| 4 | 너희는 주 너희 하나님을 따라 걸으며 그분을 두려워하고 그분의 명령을 지키며 그분의 음성에 순종하고 그분을 섬기며 그분을 굳게 붙들고 | Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. |
| 5 | 그 대언자나 그 꿈꾸는 자는 죽일지니 이는 그가 이집트 땅에서 너희를 데리고 나오시고 속박의 집에서 너희를 구속하신 주 너희 하나님으로부터 너희를 떼어 놓으려 하며 또 주 네 하나님께서 네게 걸으라고 명령하신 길에서 너를 밀어내려고 말하였기 때문이라. 너는 이같이 하여 네 한가운데서 악을 제거할지니라. | And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. |
| 6 | ¶네 형제나 네 어머니의 아들이나 네 아들딸이나 네 품의 아내나 네 자신의 혼같이 여기는 네 친구가 은밀히 너를 꾀어 이르기를, 우리가 가서 너나 네 조상들이 알지 못하던 다른 신들 | If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; |
| 7 | 곧 네게서 가깝든지 네게서 멀든지 땅 이 끝에서 땅 저 끝까지 너희 사방에 있는 백성의 신들을 섬기자, 할지라도 | Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; |
| 8 | 너는 그에게 동의하지 말며 그의 말에 귀를 기울이지 말고 네 눈으로 그를 불쌍히 보지 말며 용서하지도 말고 그를 숨겨 주지 말며 | Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: |
| 9 | 오직 너는 반드시 그를 죽이되 죽일 때에 네가 먼저 그에게 손을 대고 그 뒤에 온 백성이 손을 댈지니라. | But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. |
| 10 | 그는 이집트 땅 속박의 집에서 너를 데리고 나오신 주 네 하나님으로부터 너를 밀어내려 한 자이므로 너는 그를 돌로 쳐서 죽일지니라. | And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. |
| 11 | 그리하면 온 이스라엘이 듣고 두려워하여 다시는 이 같은 악을 너희 가운데서 행하지 아니하리라. | And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you. |
| 12 | ¶주 네 하나님께서 네게 주어 거하게 하신 네 도시들 중 하나에서 네게 소문이 들려 이르기를, | If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the Lord thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying, |
| 13 | 너희 가운데서 어떤 자들 곧 벨리알의 자손들이 나가서 자기들 도시의 거주민들을 끌어내어 이르되, 우리가 가서 너희가 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 섬기자, 한다, 하거든 | Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known; |
| 14 | 너는 조사하고 살펴보고 부지런히 물어보되, 보라, 그것이 사실이며 그 일이 확실하여 그런 가증한 일이 너희 가운데서 이루어졌으면 | Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you; |
| 15 | 너는 반드시 그 도시의 거주민들을 칼날로 치고 그 도시와 그 안에 있는 모든 것과 그곳의 가축을 칼날로 진멸하며 | Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword. |
| 16 | 또 그 도시에서 얻은 모든 노략물을 그 도시의 거리 한가운데 모으고 주 네 하나님을 위하여 그 도시와 그곳의 모든 노략물을 불로 태우라. 그 도시는 영원히 폐허 더미가 되어 다시 건축되지 아니하리라. | And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the Lord thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again. |
| 17 | 너는 저주받은 물건에 조금도 네 손을 대지 말라. 그리하면 주께서 자신의 맹렬한 분노를 돌이키시고 네게 긍휼을 베푸시며 너를 불쌍히 여기사 네 조상들에게 맹세하신 것 같이 너를 번성하게 하시리니 | And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; |
| 18 | 곧 네가 주 네 하나님의 음성에 귀를 기울이고 이 날 내가 네게 명령하는 그분의 모든 명령을 지키고 주 네 하나님 눈에 올바른 것을 행할 때에 그와 같이 하시리라. | When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the Lord thy God. |
