1 너는 악을 행하는 자들로 인하여 초조해하지 말며 불법을 행하는 자들을 부러워하지 말라. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 그들은 곧 풀같이 베일 것이요, 푸른 채소같이 시들리로다. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 주를 신뢰하고 선을 행하라. 그리하면 네가 땅에 거하고 참으로 양식을 먹으리로다. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 너는 또 주를 기뻐하라. 그분께서 네 마음에서 소원한 것들을 네게 주시리라. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 네 길을 주께 맡기고 또 그분을 신뢰하라. 그분께서 그것을 이루시고 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 네 의를 빛같이, 네 판단의 공의를 대낮같이 내놓으시리로다. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 주 안에서 안식하고 끈기 있게 그분을 기다리라. 자기 길에서 형통한 자나 사악한 꾀를 이루는 자로 인하여 초조해하지 말지어다. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 분노를 그치고 진노를 버리며 결코 악을 행하려고 초조해하지 말지어다. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 악을 행하는 자들은 끊어지려니와 주를 바라는 자들은 땅을 상속하리라. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
10 조금 있으면 사악한 자가 없어지리니 참으로 네가 그의 자리를 부지런히 살필지라도 그것이 없으리로다. For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 그러나 온유한 자들은 땅을 상속하며 넘치는 화평 속에서 즐거워하리로다. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 사악한 자가 의인을 치려고 꾀를 꾸미며 그를 향하여 자기 이를 가는도다. The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 주께서 그를 비웃으시리니 그분께서 그의 날이 다가옴을 보시는도다. The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 사악한 자들이 칼을 뽑고 자기들의 활을 당겨 가난한 자와 궁핍한 자를 쓰러뜨리며 행실이 올바른 자를 죽이려 하였으나 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 그들의 칼은 오히려 그들의 심장을 찌르고 그들의 활들은 부러지리로다. Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 한 의로운 사람의 적은 소유가 많은 사악한 자들의 풍부한 재물보다 더 나으니 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 사악한 자들의 팔은 부러질 터이나 의로운 자들은 주께서 떠받치시는도다. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18 주께서 곧바른 자들의 날들을 아시니 그들의 상속 재산이 영원하리로다. The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 그들은 악한 때에 부끄러움을 당하지 아니하리니 기근의 날들에 그들이 만족하리로다. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 그러나 사악한 자들은 멸망하고 주의 원수들은 어린양의 기름같이 되리니 그들은 소멸되고 연기로 소멸되어 사라지리로다. But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 사악한 자는 빌리고 갚지 아니하나 의로운 자는 긍휼을 베풀고 주는도다. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
22 그분께 복을 받은 자들은 땅을 상속하되 그분께 저주를 받은 자들은 끊어지리로다. For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 주께서 선한 사람의 걸음을 정하시고 그의 길을 기뻐하시는도다. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
24 그가 넘어질지라도 완전히 쓰러지지 아니하리니 주께서 자신의 손으로 그를 떠받치시는도다. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
25 내가 젊은 시절을 보내고 이제는 늙었으되 지금까지 의로운 자가 버려지거나 그의 씨가 빵을 구걸하는 것을 보지 못하였도다. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 그가 항상 긍휼을 베풀고 꾸어 주니 그의 씨가 복을 받는도다. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 악에서 떠나고 선을 행하라. 또 영원토록 거하라. Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 주께서 판단의 공의를 사랑하시고 자신의 성도들을 버리지 아니하시나니 그들은 영원히 보존되나 사악한 자의 씨는 끊어지리로다. For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 의로운 자는 땅을 상속하고 영원히 그 안에 거하며 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 의로운 자의 입은 지혜를 말하고 그의 혀는 판단의 공의를 이야기하며 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 그의 마음속에는 그의 하나님의 법이 있으니 그의 발걸음은 하나도 미끄러지지 아니하리로다. The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32 사악한 자가 의로운 자를 지켜보며 그를 죽이려 하나 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 주께서 그를 사악한 자의 손에 버려두지 아니하시고 그가 심판을 받을 때에도 그를 정죄하지 아니하시리로다. The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 주를 바라고 그분의 길을 지키라. 그리하면 그분께서 너를 높여 땅을 상속받게 하실 것이요, 사악한 자가 끊어질 때에 네가 그것을 보리로다. Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 사악한 자가 큰 권능을 가지고 스스로 푸른 월계수같이 뻗어 나간 것을 내가 보았으나 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 그가 사라졌으니, 보라, 그가 없어졌도다. 참으로 내가 그를 찾았으나 발견하지 못하였도다. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 완전한 사람을 주목하고 곧바른 자를 눈여겨볼지어다. 그 사람의 마지막은 화평이니라. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38 그러나 범법자들은 함께 멸망하리니 사악한 자들의 마지막은 끊어지리로다. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 그러나 의로운 자들의 구원은 주에게서 오나니 그분은 고난의 때에 그들의 힘이시로다. But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 주께서 그들을 도우시며 그들을 건지시리니 그들이 그분을 신뢰하므로 그분께서 그들을 사악한 자들에게서 건지시고 구원하시리로다. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
