| 1 | 주께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되, | And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, |
| 2 | 이스라엘 자손에게 말하고 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 그들 각 사람에게서 막대기 하나씩을 취하되 곧 그들의 조상들의 집에 따라 그들의 모든 통치자에게서 막대기 열두 개를 취하라. 또 너는 각 사람의 막대기에 그 사람의 이름을 쓰되 | Speak unto the children of Israel, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man’s name upon his rod. |
| 3 | 레위의 막대기에는 아론의 이름을 쓸지니 그들의 조상들의 집의 우두머리를 위하여 한 막대기가 있어야 하리라. | And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. |
| 4 | 너는 회중의 성막 안에서 내가 너희와 만날 곳인 증언 앞에 그 막대기들을 둘지니라. | And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you. |
| 5 | 내가 택할 사람의 막대기가 꽃을 피우리니 이로써 내가 이스라엘 자손이 불평하는 것 즉 그들이 너희에게 불평하는 말이 내 앞에서 그치게 하리라. | And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you. |
| 6 | ¶모세가 이스라엘 자손에게 말하매 그들의 통치자들이 각각 자기들의 조상들의 집들에 따라 각각의 통치자에 대해 막대기를 하나씩 취하여 그에게 주었으니 곧 열두 막대기더라. 그들의 막대기들 가운데 아론의 막대기가 있더라. | And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, and every one of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods. |
| 7 | 모세가 그 막대기들을 증거의 성막 안에 주 앞에 두니라. | And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness. |
| 8 | 다음 날 모세가 증거의 성막 안에 들어가니, 보라, 레위의 집을 위해 내놓은 아론의 막대기에 싹이 나고 봉오리가 나오고 꽃이 피어 아몬드가 열렸더라. | And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. |
| 9 | 모세가 그 모든 막대기를 주 앞에서 취하여 이스라엘의 모든 자손에게로 가져오매 그들이 보고 저마다 자기 막대기를 취하니라. | And Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod. |
| 10 | ¶주께서 또 모세에게 이르시되, 아론의 막대기는 증언 앞으로 도로 가져다가 간직하여 반역하는 자들을 대적하는 증표가 되게 하며 또 너는 내 앞에서 그들의 불평을 완전히 치우고 이로써 그들이 죽지 않게 할지니라, 하시니 | And the Lord said unto Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. |
| 11 | 모세가 그와 같이 행하되 주께서 자기에게 명령하신 대로 그가 행하였더라. | And Moses did so: as the Lord commanded him, so did he. |
| 12 | 이스라엘 자손이 모세에게 말하여 이르되, 보소서, 우리가 죽나이다. 망하나이다. 다 망하나이다. | And the children of Israel spake unto Moses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish. |
| 13 | 누구든지 주의 성막에 가까이 가는 자는 죽으리니 우리가 죽어서 소멸되어야 하리이까? 하니라. | Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the Lord shall die: shall we be consumed with dying? |
