1 주께서 모세에게 말씀하여 이르시되, And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 너는 너를 위해 은 나팔 두 개를 만들되 한 덩어리에서 만들고 그것들을 사용하여 집회를 소집하며 진영을 이동하게 할지니라. Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.
3 그들이 그것들을 불 때에는 온 집회 회중이 회중의 성막 문에서 모여 네게로 나아올 것이요, And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
4 그들이 나팔을 하나만 불 때에는 이스라엘의 수천 명의 우두머리 통치자들이 모여 네게로 나아올 것이니라. And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.
5 너희가 경고 나팔을 불 때에는 동쪽에 놓인 진영들이 앞으로 나아갈 것이며 When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.
6 경고 나팔을 두 번째 불 때에는 남쪽 편에 놓인 진영들이 이동할 것이니 이동하기 위해 그들이 경고 나팔 소리를 낼 것이니라. When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
7 그러나 회중을 함께 모을 때에도 너희는 나팔을 불려니와 경고 소리를 내지는 말지니라. But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
8 아론의 아들들인 제사장들이 나팔들을 불지니 그것들은 너희를 위하여 너희 대대로 영원한 규례가 될지니라. And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.
9 또 너희가 너희 땅에서 너희를 학대하는 원수와 싸우러 갈 때에 그 나팔들로 경고 소리를 낼지니 그리하면 너희가 주 너희 하나님 앞에서 기억되고 너희 원수들에게서 구원을 받으리라. And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
10 또 너희는 너희의 즐거운 날과 너희의 엄숙한 날들에 또 너희의 달들을 시작하는 때에 너희의 번제 헌물 위에와 화평 헌물의 희생물 위에 그 나팔들을 불지니 이로써 그것들이 너희 하나님 앞에서 너희에게 기념물이 되리라. 나는 주 너희 하나님이니라. Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the Lord your God.
11 ¶둘째 해 둘째 달 이십일에 구름이 증언의 성막에서 떠오르매 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.
12 이스라엘 자손이 시내 광야에서부터 이동하였고 바란 광야에 구름이 머물렀더라. And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.
13 그들이 모세의 손으로 주신 주의 명령에 따라 처음으로 이동하였더라. And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
14 ¶맨 앞에는 유다 자손 진영의 군기가 그들의 군대대로 갔는데 그의 군대는 암미나답의 아들 나손이 지휘하고 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
15 잇사갈 자손 지파의 군대는 수알의 아들 느다네엘이 지휘하며 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
16 스불론 자손 지파의 군대는 헬론의 아들 엘리압이 지휘하였더라. And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.
17 성막을 걷어 내리매 게르손의 아들들과 므라리의 아들들이 성막을 메고 앞으로 나아갔더라. And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, bearing the tabernacle.
18 ¶르우벤 진영의 군기가 그들의 군대대로 앞으로 나아갔는데 그의 군대는 스데울의 아들 엘리술이 지휘하고 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
19 시므온 자손 지파의 군대는 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘이 지휘하며 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
20 갓 자손 지파의 군대는 드우엘의 아들 엘리아삽이 지휘하였더라. And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
21 고핫 족속은 성소를 메고 앞으로 나아갔고 그들이 이르기 전에 다른 이들이 성막을 세웠더라. And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other did set up the tabernacle against they came.
22 ¶에브라임 자손 진영의 군기가 그들의 군대대로 앞으로 나아갔는데 그의 군대는 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마가 지휘하고 And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.
23 므낫세 자손 지파의 군대는 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이 지휘하며 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
24 베냐민 자손 지파의 군대는 기드오니의 아들 아비단이 지휘하였더라. And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.
25 ¶단 자손 진영의 군기가 앞으로 나아갔는데 그 진영은 두루 그들의 군대에서 모든 진영의 후위대더라. 그의 군대는 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이 지휘하고 And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, which was the rereward of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
26 아셀 자손 지파의 군대는 오그란의 아들 바기엘이 지휘하며 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.
27 납달리 자손 지파의 군대는 에난의 아들 아히라가 지휘하였더라. And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.
28 이스라엘 자손이 앞으로 나아갈 때에 그들의 군대대로 이와 같이 이동하니라. Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.
29 ¶모세가 자기의 장인 미디안 족속 라구엘의 아들 호밥에게 이르되, 주께서 이르시기를, 내가 너희에게 그것을 주리라, 한 곳으로 우리가 이동하니 당신은 우리와 함께 가소서. 우리가 당신을 선대하리이다. 주께서 이스라엘에 관하여 선하게 말씀하셨나이다, 하매 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.
30 그가 그에게 이르되, 나는 가지 아니하고 내 땅 내 친족에게로 떠나가리라, 하니 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.
31 모세가 이르되, 원하건대 우리를 떠나지 마소서. 당신은 우리가 광야에서 어떻게 진을 쳐야 할지 아나니 우리에게 눈을 대신하리이다. And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.
32 당신이 우리와 함께 가면 참으로 주께서 우리에게 어떤 선한 일을 행하시든지 우리도 당신에게 바로 그렇게 행하리이다, 하니라. And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the Lord shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.
33 ¶그들이 주의 산에서 떠나 사흘 길을 갈 때에 주의 언약 궤가 그 사흘 길에서 그들 앞에서 가며 그들을 위해 안식할 곳을 찾았고 And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
34 그들이 진영에서 나갈 때에 낮에는 주의 구름이 그들 위에 있었더라. And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.
35 궤가 앞으로 나아갈 때에는 모세가 이르되, 주여, 일어나사 주의 원수들을 흩으시고 주를 미워하는 자들이 주 앞에서 도망하게 하소서, 하였고 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.
36 궤가 안식할 때에는 그가 이르되, 오 주여, 이스라엘의 수많은 자들에게로 돌아오소서, 하였더라. And when it rested, he said, Return, O Lord, unto the many thousands of Israel.
