| 1 | 이제 성령께서 분명히 말씀하시기를 마지막 때에 어떤 사람들이 믿음에서 떠나 유혹하는 영들과 마귀들의 교리들에 주의를 기울이리라 하시는데 | Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; |
| 2 | 이들은 위선으로 거짓말을 하며 자기 양심을 뜨거운 인두로 지진 자들이라. | Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; |
| 3 | 이들이 혼인을 금하고 음식물을 삼가라고 명령할 터이나 음식물은 하나님께서 창조하사 진리를 믿고 아는 자들이 감사함으로 받게 하셨느니라. | Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. |

| 6 | 네가 형제들에게 이것들을 기억하게 하면 네가 도달한 믿음의 말씀들과 선한 교리의 말씀들로 양육 받은 예수 그리스도의 선한 사역자가 되리라. | If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. |
| 7 | 그러나 속되고 늙은 부녀들의 꾸며 낸 이야기들을 거부하고 도리어 하나님의 성품에 이르도록 스스로 훈련하라. | But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. |
| 8 | 육체의 훈련은 유익이 적으나 하나님의 성품은 모든 일에 유익하며 현재의 생명과 다가올 생명의 약속을 지니고 있느니라. | For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. |
| 9 | 이것은 신실한 말이요 온전히 받아들이기에 합당한 말이로다. | This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. |
| 10 | 이런 까닭에 우리가 수고하고 치욕을 당하나니 이는 우리가 살아 계신 하나님을 신뢰하기 때문이라. 그분은 모든 사람의 구원자시요 특히 믿는 자들의 구원자시니라. | For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. |

| 15 | 이것들을 묵상하고 전적으로 그것들에 몰두하여 네가 유익을 얻은 것이 모든 사람에게 나타나게 하라. | Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. |
| 16 | 네 자신과 교리에 주의를 기울이고 그것들 가운데 거하라. 네가 이것을 행함으로 네 자신과 네 말을 듣는 자들을 구원하리라. | Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. |
