| 1 | 바울과 실루아노와 디모데는 하나님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 데살로니가 사람들의 교회에 편지하노니 하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평강이 너희에게 있기를 원하노라. | Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 2 | 우리가 기도할 때에 너희에 대해 말하며 너희 모두로 인해 항상 하나님께 감사드림은 | We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; |
| 3 | 하나님 곧 우리 아버지의 눈앞에서 우리 주 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 너희의 믿음의 행위와 사랑의 수고와 소망의 인내를 끊임없이 기억하기 때문이니 | Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; |

| 5 | 이는 우리의 복음이 말로만 너희에게 이르지 아니하고 권능과 성령님과 큰 확신으로 이르렀기 때문이니라. 우리가 너희를 위해 너희 가운데서 어떤 사람이 되었는지는 너희가 아는 바와 같으니라. | For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. |
| 6 | 또 너희는 많은 고난 속에서 성령님의 기쁨과 더불어 말씀을 받아 우리와 주를 따르는 자가 되었으니 | And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: |
| 7 | 그러므로 너희는 마케도니아와 아가야에서 믿는 모든 자들에게 본이 되었느니라. | So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. |
| 8 | 주의 말씀이 너희로부터 나와 마케도니아와 아가야에 울려 퍼졌을 뿐 아니라 하나님을 향한 너희의 믿음이 모든 곳에 널리 퍼졌나니 그러므로 우리는 아무것도 말할 필요가 없노라. | For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. |

| 10 | 그분께서 죽은 자들로부터 살리신 그분의 아들께서 하늘로부터 오실 것을 기다리는지 보여 주나니 이분은 곧 다가올 진노로부터 우리를 건져 내신 예수님이시니라. | And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. |
