1 그때에 그분께서 제자들에게 이르시되, 실족하게 하는 일들이 일어나지 않을 수는 없으나 그 일들을 일으키는 자에게는 화가 있으리로다! Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 그가 이 작은 자들 중의 하나를 실족하게 하는 것보다 차라리 연자 맷돌을 목에 매달고 바다에 빠지는 것이 그에게 더 나으리라. It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3 ¶너희는 스스로 주의하라. 만일 네 형제가 네게 범법하거든 그를 꾸짖고 그가 회개하거든 그를 용서하라. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 그가 만일 하루에 일곱 번 네게 범법하고 하루에 일곱 번 네게 다시 돌아와 이르기를, 내가 회개하노라, 하거든 너는 그를 용서하라, 하시니라. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5 사도들이 주께 이르되, 우리의 믿음을 증대시켜 주옵소서, 하니 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 주께서 이르시되, 너희에게 만일 겨자씨 한 알만 한 믿음이 있었더라면 너희가 이 뽕나무에게 이르기를, 뿌리째 뽑혀 바다에 심겨라, 하였을 것이요, 그것이 너희에게 순종하였으리라. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 그런데 너희 중에 누구에게 밭을 갈거나 가축을 치는 종이 있으면 그가 밭에서 올 때에 그가 즉시 그에게 이르기를, 와서 앉아 음식을 먹으라, 하겠느냐? But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8 도리어 그에게 이르기를, 내가 저녁을 먹도록 준비하고 또 띠를 띠고 내가 먹고 마실 때까지 나를 섬기며 너는 그 뒤에 먹고 마시라, 하지 아니하겠느냐? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 그 종이 명령받은 일들을 했으므로 그가 종에게 감사하겠느냐? 나는 아니라고 생각하노라. Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 이와 같이 너희도 명령받은 그 모든 일들을 행한 뒤에 이르기를, 우리는 무익한 종이니이다. 우리는 해야 할 우리의 의무를 하였나이다, 하라, 하시니라. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11 ¶그분께서 예루살렘으로 가실 때에 사마리아와 갈릴리의 한가운데로 지나가시니라. And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 그분께서 어떤 마을로 들어가시매 나병 환자 열 사람이 그분을 만나 멀찍이 떨어져 서서 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 목소리를 높여 이르되, 예수님이여, 선생님이여, 우리에게 긍휼을 베푸소서, 하거늘 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 그분께서 그들을 보시고 그들에게 이르시되, 가서 제사장들에게 너희 몸을 보이라, 하시니 그들이 가다가 정결하게 되니라. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 그들 중의 한 사람이 자기가 나은 것을 보고 돌아와 큰 소리로 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 그분의 발 앞에 얼굴을 대고 엎드려 그분께 감사를 드렸는데 그는 사마리아 사람이더라. And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 예수님께서 응답하여 이르시되, 열 사람이 정결하게 되지 아니하였느냐? 그런데 그 아홉 사람은 어디 있느냐? And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 이 타국인 외에는 하나님께 영광을 돌리러 돌아온 자들을 찾지 못하였도다, 하시고 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 그에게 이르시되, 일어나 네 길로 가라. 네 믿음이 너를 온전하게 하였느니라, 하시니라. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 ¶바리새인들이 그분께 하나님의 왕국이 어느 때에 임하느냐고 다그쳐 묻거늘 그분께서 그들에게 응답하여 이르시되, 하나님의 왕국은 볼 수 있게 임하지 아니하며 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 또 그들이 이르기를, 여기를 보라! 혹은, 저기를 보라! 하지도 못하리니, 보라, 하나님의 왕국은 너희 안에 있느니라, 하시니라. Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 그분께서 제자들에게 이르시되, 날들이 이르리니 그때에는 너희가 사람의 아들의 날들 중 하루를 보고자 하되 그것을 보지 못하리라. And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 그들이 너희에게 이르되, 여기를 보라, 혹은, 저기를 보라, 해도 그들을 따라가지 말며 그들을 따르지도 말라. And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
24 번개가 하늘 아래 이쪽에서 번쩍이어 하늘 아래 저쪽까지 빛을 내는 것 같이 사람의 아들도 자기 날에 그러하리라. For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 그러나 그가 반드시 먼저 많은 일들로 고난을 당하고 이 세대에게 버림을 받아야 하리라. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 노아의 날들에 이루어진 것 같이 사람의 아들의 날들에도 그러하리라. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 노아가 방주로 들어간 날까지 그들이 먹고 마시고 장가가고 시집가더니 홍수가 나서 그들을 다 멸하였느니라. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 마찬가지로 롯의 날들에도 그와 같았으니 그들이 먹고 마시고 사고팔고 심고 건축하였으되 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 롯이 소돔에서 나간 바로 그 날에 하늘로부터 불과 유황이 비 오듯 내려 그들을 다 멸하였느니라. But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 사람의 아들이 나타나는 날에도 그와 같으리라. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 그 날에 지붕 위에 있는 자는 자기 물건이 집에 있어도 그것을 가지러 내려가지 말 것이요, 들에 있는 자도 그와 같이 되돌아가지 말 것이니라. In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 롯의 아내를 기억하라. Remember Lot’s wife.
33 누구든지 자기 생명을 구원하고자 하는 자는 그것을 잃을 것이요, 누구든지 자기 생명을 잃는 자는 그것을 보존하리라. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 그 밤에 두 남자가 한 자리에 누워 있을 터인데 하나는 붙잡혀 가고 다른 하나는 남겨질 것이요, I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 두 여자가 함께 맷돌을 갈고 있을 터인데 하나는 붙잡혀 가고 다른 하나는 남겨질 것이며 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 두 남자가 들에 있을 터인데 하나는 붙잡혀 가고 다른 하나는 남겨지리라, 하시니라. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 그들이 그분께 응답하여 이르되, 주여, 어디로이니이까? 하니 그분께서 그들에게 이르시되, 어디든지 시체가 있는 곳이면 독수리들이 거기로 함께 모여들리라, 하시니라. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
