1	땅의 성전과 하늘의 성전 물론 먼젓번 계약에도 예배 규칙이 있었고 또 예배 장소가 있었습니다. 그러나 그 장소는 인간이 마련한 장소였습니다.	Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2	이렇게 세워진 천막 성전 앞칸에는 촛대와 상이 있었고 그 위에는 빵을 진열해 놓았는데 이 곳을 성소라고 합니다.	For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3	그리고 둘째 휘장 뒷칸을 지성소라고 불렀습니다.	And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4	거기에는 금으로 만든 분향제단과 온통 금으로 입힌 계약의 궤가 있었고 그 궤 속에는 만나를 담은 항아리와 싹이 돋은 아론의 지팡이와 계약이 새겨진 석판들이 들어 있었습니다.	Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5	또 그 궤 위에는 영광스러운 케르빔 천신상들이 있어 날개로 속죄판을 내리덮고 있었습니다. 지금은 이런 것들을 자세히 설명할 때가 아닙니다.	And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6	천막 성전에는 이러한 것이 모두 갖추어져 있는데 사제들은 언제나 그 앞칸에 들어가서 예배를 집행합니다.	Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7	그러나 그 뒷칸에는 대사제만이 일 년에 단 한 번 들어가는데 그 때에는 반드시 피를 가지고 들어가게 되어 있습니다. 이 피는 대사제가 자신을 위해서 또 백성들이 모르고 지은 죄를 용서받기 위해서 바치는 것입니다.	But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
8	이러한 제도를 통해서 성령이 보여주시는 것은 천막 성전의 앞칸이 그대로 있는 한 지성소로 들어가는 길은 아직 열려 있지 않다는 것입니다.	The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
9	이 모든 것은 현세를 상징하는 것입니다. 그 제도를 따라 봉헌물과 희생제물을 바치지만 그것이 예배하는 사람의 양심을 완전하게 해주지는 못합니다.	Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10	그것은 다만 먹을 것과 마실 것과 여러 가지 씻는 예식에 관한 인간적인 규칙들로서 하느님께서 모든 일을 바로잡으시는 때가 올 때까지 유효할 뿐입니다.	Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
11	그러나 그리스도께서는 이미 존재하는 모든 좋은 것을 주관하시는 대사제로 오셨습니다. 그분이 사제로 일하시는 성전은 더 크고 더 완전한 것이며 사람의 손으로 만든 것이 아닙니다. 말하자면 창조된 이 세상에 속하여 있는 것이 아니라는 말입니다.	But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12	그리스도는 단 한 번 지성소에 들어가셔서 염소나 송아지의 피가 아닌 당신 자신의 피로써 우리에게 영원히 속죄받을 길을 마련해 주셨습니다.	Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13	부정한 사람들에게 염소나 황소의 피와 암송아지의 재를 뿌려도 그 육체를 깨끗하게 하여 그들을 거룩하게 할 수 있다면	For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14	하물며 성령을 통하여 당신 자신을 하느님께 흠없는 제물로 바치신 그리스도의 피는 우리의 양심을 깨끗하게 하는 데나 죽음의 행실을 버리게 하고 살아 계신 하느님을 섬기게 하는 데 얼마나 큰 힘이 되겠습니까?	How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15	그러므로 그리스도는 새로운 계약의 중재자이십니다. 그분은 사람들이 먼젓번 계약 아래서 저지른 죄를 용서받게 하시려고 죽으셨습니다. 따라서 부르심을 받은 사람들이 하느님께서 약속해 주신 영원한 유산을 이어받게 되었습니다.	And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16	상속에 관한 유언이 효력을 내려면 그 유언을 한 사람의 죽음이 확인되어야 합니다.	For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17	유언이라는 것은 유언을 한 사람이 죽어야 효력이 있는 것이지 그가 살아 있는 동안에는 아무 효력이 없습니다.	For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18	그래서 사실은 먼젓번 계약도 피를 가지고 맺었던 것입니다.	Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19	모세는 율법에 있는 모든 계명을 온 백성에게 선포할 때에 송아지 피와 물을 가져다가 박하 묶음과 붉은 양털로 계약의 책과 온 백성에게 뿌렸습니다.	For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20	그리고는 "이것은 하느님께서 여러분과 맺으신 계약의 피입니다." 하고 말했습니다.	Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21	또 같은 모양으로 그는 천막 성전과 예배의식에 쓰이는 모든 기구에도 피를 뿌렸습니다.	Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22	율법에 따르면 피로써 깨끗해지지 않는 것이 거의 없습니다. 그리고 피 흘리는 일이 없이는 죄를 용서받지 못합니다.	And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23	그리스도의 희생을 통한 속죄 하늘에 있는 것들을 본떠 만든 것들은 이런 의식으로 정결하게 만들 필요가 있었습니다. 그러나 하늘에 있는 것들은 그보다도 더 나은 제물로 정결하게 만들어야 합니다.	It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24	그리스도께서는 인간이 하늘의 참 성소를 본떠서 만든 지상의 성소에 들어가신 것이 아니라 우리를 위해서 하느님 앞에 나타나시려고 바로 그 하늘의 성소로 들어가신 것입니다.	For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25	대사제는 해마다 다른 짐승의 피를 가지고 성소에 들어가야 하지만 그리스도께서는 그렇게 번번이 당신 자신을 바치실 필요가 없었습니다.	Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
26	그분이 몸을 여러 번 바쳐야 한다면 그분은 천지 창조 이후 여러 번 고난을 받으셨어야 했을 것입니다. 그러나 지금 그분은 이 역사의 절정에 나타나셔서 단 한 번 당신 자신을 희생제물로 드리심으로써 죄를 없이 하셨습니다.	For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27	사람은 단 한 번 죽게 마련이고 그 뒤에는 심판을 받게 됩니다.	And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28	그리스도께서도 단 한 번 당신 자신을 제물로 바치셨습니다. 그러나 많은 사람의 죄를 없애주셨고 다시 나타나실 때에는 인간의 죄 때문에 다시 희생제물이 되시는 일이 없이 당신을 갈망하고 있는 사람들에게 구원을 가져다 주실 것입니다.	So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
