1	"어서 야훼께로 돌아가자! 그분은 우리를 잡아 찢으시지만 아물게 해주시고, 우리를 치시지만 싸매주신다.	Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2	이틀이 멀다 하고 다시 살려주시며 사흘이 멀다 하고 다시 일으켜주시리니, 우리 다 그분 앞에서 복되게 살리라.	After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
3	그러니 그리운 야훼님 찾아나서자. 그의 정의가 환히 빛나 오리라. 어김없이 동터 오는 새벽처럼 그는 오시고 단비가 내리듯 봄비가 촉촉이 뿌리듯 그렇게 오시리라."	Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
4	그러나 에브라임아, 너를 어떻게 하면 좋겠느냐. 유다야, 너를 어떻게 하면 좋겠느냐. 너희 사랑은 아침 안개 같구나. 덧없이 사라지는 이슬 같구나.	O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
5	그래서 나는 예언자들을 시켜 너희를 찍어 쓰러뜨리고 내 입에서 나오는 말로 너희를 죽이리라.	Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
6	내가 반기는 것은 제물이 아니라 사랑이다. 제물을 바치기 전에 이 하느님의 마음을 먼저 알아다오.	For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
7	뿌리 깊은 이스라엘의 죄 이 백성은 아담에서 이미 계약을 깨뜨렸다. 거기서 벌써 나를 배신하였다.	But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
8	길르앗은 폭력배의 마을이라, 가는 데마다 핏자국뿐이로구나.	Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
9	사제들이 강도떼처럼 세겜으로 가는 길목에 숨어서 노리다가 살인을 하다니, 차마 못할 짓이다.	And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
10	베델에선 보이느니 추잡한 꼴뿐, 거기서 에브라임이 바람을 피우고 이스라엘이 몸을 더럽히고 있다.	I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
11	유다야, 너도 심은 대로 거둘 것이다.	Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
