1	거짓 예언자 하나니야 같은 해에 일어난 일이다. 때는 시드키야가 유다 왕이 된 지 얼마 안 된 제사년 오월이었다. 기브온 사람 아쭈르의 아들 하나니야라는 예언자가 있었는데, 그는 야훼의 성전에서 사제들과 온 백성이 보는 앞에서 나에게 이렇게 말하였다.	And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which was of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,
2	"만군의 야훼께서 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 하시는 말씀이오. '나 야훼는 바빌론 왕의 멍에를 부수기로 하였다.	Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
3	바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 이 곳에서 바빌론으로 약탈하여 간 내 집의 모든 기물을 이 년만 있으면 이 곳으로 되돌려 오리라.	Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon:
4	유다 왕 여호야킴의 아들 여고니야와 함께 바빌론으로 사로잡혀 간 유다인들도 모두 이 곳으로 돌아오게 하리라. 똑똑히 말해 둔다. 내가 바빌론 왕의 멍에를 부수리라.'"	And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, saith the Lord: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
5	예언자 예레미야는 사제들과 야훼의 성전에 서 있는 온 백성이 보는 앞에서 예언자 하나니야에게 말하였다.	Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the Lord,
6	"야훼께서 그렇게만 하여주신다면야 여부가 있겠소? 그대가 예언한 그 말을 야훼께서 이루어주셔서 야훼의 성전 기물과 포로들을 바빌론에서 이 곳으로 되돌려 오신다면야 더 말할 나위가 있겠소?" 예언자 예레미야는 계속하여 이렇게 말했다.	Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the Lord do so: the Lord perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the Lord’s house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place.
7	"내가 이제 그대와 온 백성의 귀에 똑똑히 일러줄 터이니 잘 들어두시오.	Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people;
8	예전부터 우리 선배 예언자들은 많은 지방과 강대한 나라에 전쟁과 기근과 염병이 있겠다고 예언하였소.	The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.
9	'잘되어 간다.'고 예언하는 예언자는, 그 말이 맞아야만 참으로 야훼께서 보내신 예언자인 것이 드러날 것이오."	The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the Lord hath truly sent him.
10	그러자 예언자 하나니야는 예언자 예레미야가 메었던 나무 멍에를 목에서 벗겨 부수었다.	Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and brake it.
11	그리고 나서 하나니야는 온 백성이 보는 앞에서 말하였다. "나 야훼가 선언한다. 이 년만 있으면 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 모든 민족에게 메운 멍에를 내가 이렇게 부수리라." 그러자 예언자 예레미야는 자리를 떴다.	And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
12	예언자 하나니야가 예언자 예레미야의 목에서 나무 멍에를 벗겨 부순 후에 야훼의 말씀이 예레미야에게 내렸다.	Then the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
13	"너는 하나니야에게 가서, 야훼의 말이라 하고 이렇게 일러라. '너는 나무 멍에를 부수었지만, 나는 그 대신 쇠 멍에를 만들겠다.	Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron.
14	나 만군의 야훼가 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 말한다. 나는 이 모든 민족에게 쇠 멍에를 메워서 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살을 섬기게 하리라. 들짐승까지도 그에게 넘겨주리라.'"	For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.
15	예언자 예레미야는 예언자 하나니야에게 그대로 일렀다. "하나니야, 잘 들으시오. 야훼께서 그대를 보내지 않으셨는데, 그대는 이 백성에게 거짓말을 하여서 곧이듣고 안심하게 하였소.	Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The Lord hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.
16	그래서 야훼께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨소. '나는 너를 땅 위에서 치워버리겠다. 나를 거역하는 말을 한 벌로 너는 이 해가 가기 전에 죽으리라.'"	Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord.
17	그 말대로 예언자 하나니야는 그 해 칠월에 죽었다.	So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
