1	성전 건축 공사가 끝나다 솔로몬이 야훼의 성전과 자기의 궁전을 짓는 데는 이십 년이 걸렸다.	And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, wherein Solomon had built the house of the Lord, and his own house,
2	솔로몬은 후람에게서 받은 성들도 개축하고 거기에 이스라엘 백성을 정착시켰다.	That the cities which Huram had restored to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
3	솔로몬은 또 하맛소바로 가서 이를 정복하였다.	And Solomon went to Hamath–zobah, and prevailed against it.
4	그는 광야에 다드몰을 건설하였고 하맛에는 양곡 저장성들을 건설하였다.	And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.
5	또 윗벳호론과 아랫벳호론에 성을 쌓고 문을 만들어 달고 빗장을 질러 그 곳을 요새 도시로 만들고,	Also he built Beth–horon the upper, and Beth–horon the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
6	바알랏을 건설하고 왕실 양곡을 저장해 두는 모든 성들과 모든 병거 주둔성들과 군마 주둔성들을 건설하였다. 예루살렘을 비롯하여 레바논과 전 영토 안의 건축은 다 솔로몬의 계획대로 되었다.	And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.
7	그런데 이스라엘 사람 아닌 헷족, 아모리족, 브리즈족, 히위족, 여부스족 가운데서 살아 남은 사람들이 있었다.	As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,
8	이들은 이스라엘 백성이 없애버리지 않고 남겨둔 사람들의 후손이었는데, 솔로몬은 이 사람들을 부역에 동원하였다. 이들은 지금까지도 그런 신세다.	But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.
9	이스라엘 사람들은 군인 노릇을 해야 했다. 지휘관 아니면 근위대장, 그것도 아니면 병거대와 기병대 대장 일을 맡았다. 그래서 솔로몬은 이스라엘 사람을 한 명도 자기가 일으킨 공사에 부역시키지 않았다.	But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and horsemen.
10	솔로몬 왕은 사람들을 감독할 책임자 이백오십 명을 두었는데 그 이름은 아래와 같다.	And these were the chief of king Solomon’s officers, even two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people.
11	솔로몬은 파라오의 공주가 살 궁을 따로 세우고 다윗 성에서 데려다가 그 궁에서 살게 하였다. 이스라엘 왕 다윗이 살던 궁은 야훼의 궤가 있던 곳으로 거룩한 곳인데, 어찌 여인을 거기에서 살게 하랴 싶었던 것이다.	And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the Lord hath come.
12	그 때 솔로몬은 자기가 현관 앞에 세운 제단에서 야훼께 번제를 드렸다.	Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the Lord on the altar of the Lord, which he had built before the porch,
13	그는 모세의 법에 따라 날마다 바치는 것과 안식일과 새 달과 연중 삼대 절기인 무교절, 추수절, 장막절에 바치는 것을 바쳤다.	Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles.
14	또 선왕 다윗이 정해 준 법에 따라 사제들을 반을 짜서 날마다 봉직하게 하였다. 레위인들에게는 찬양하며 사제들을 거드는 직책을 정해 주었고, 문지기들도 반을 짜서 문마다 배치시켰다. 하느님의 사람 다윗이 이렇게 하라고 분부를 내려두었던 것이다.	And he appointed, according to the order of David his father, the courses of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise and minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required: the porters also by their courses at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.
15	왕은 사제들과 레위인들에게 창고를 관리하는 일까지 자세한 지시를 내렸는데, 사람들은 그것을 하나도 어기지 않았다.	And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
16	이 날로 솔로몬이 일으킨 공사는 다 끝났다. 야훼의 성전은 기초 공사로부터 완벽하게 이루어져 완공되었다.	Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord, and until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was perfected.
17	그리고 나서 솔로몬은 에돔 땅 바닷가 에시욘게벨과 엘랏으로 갔다.	Then went Solomon to Ezion–geber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.
18	후람이 수하 사람들을 시켜 그에게 상선대를 보내고 노련한 선원들도 보냈던 것이다. 그들은 솔로몬의 선원들과 함께 오빌 지방에 가서 금 사백이십 달란트를 실어다가 솔로몬에게 바쳤다.	And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
