1	여호아하즈 지방민들은 요시야의 아들 여호아하즈를 뽑아 예루살렘에서 왕으로 모시어 부왕의 뒤를 잇게 하였다.	Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.
2	그는 이십삼 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 삼 개월간 다스렸다.	Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.
3	이집트 왕은 그를 예루살렘에서 퇴위시키고 이 나라에 은 백 달란트와 금 십 달란트를 조공으로 바치게 하였다.	And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
4	그리고 이집트 왕은 여호아하즈의 형 엘리아킴을 유다와 예루살렘의 왕으로 앉히고 그의 이름을 여호야킴으로 고치게 하였다. 느고는 그의 동생 여호아하즈를 이집트로 끌고 갔다.	And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5	여호야킴 여호야킴은 이십오 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 십일 년간 다스렸다. 그는 그의 하느님 야훼의 눈에 거슬리게 그릇된 정치를 폈다.	Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God.
6	바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 쳐들어와서 그를 놋사슬로 묶어 바빌론으로 끌고 갔다.	Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
7	느부갓네살은 야훼의 성전 그릇도 더러 바빌론으로 빼앗아 가서 바빌론에 있는 자기의 궁궐에 두었다.	Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.
8	여호야킴이 얼마나 역겨운 일을 했고 그 때문에 어떤 일을 당했는지, 그의 나머지 역사는 이스라엘과 유다의 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다. 그의 아들 여호야긴이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.	Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
9	여호야긴 여호야긴은 십팔 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 석 달 열흘 동안 다스렸다. 그는 야훼의 눈에 거슬리게 그릇된 정치를 폈다.	Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.
10	해가 바뀔 무렵에 느부갓네살 왕은 군대를 보내어 그를 바빌론으로 끌어갔고, 야훼의 성전에 있는 값진 그릇들도 빼앗아갔다. 그리고 그의 삼촌 시드키야를 유다와 예루살렘의 왕으로 앉혔다.	And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the Lord, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11	시드키야 시드키야는 이십일 세에 왕위에 올라 이스라엘에서 십일 년간 다스렸다.	Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
12	그는 야훼의 말씀을 전하는 예언자 예레미야를 따르지 않고 그의 하느님 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 그릇된 정치를 폈다.	And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the Lord.
13	느부갓네살 왕에게 충성하겠다고 하느님을 두고 맹세하였으면서도 그에게 반기를 들기도 하였다. 그는 고집을 부리고 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께로 기어이 돌아오지 않았다.	And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the Lord God of Israel.
14	유다 나라 대신들과 사제들과 백성들도 다른 민족들의 역겨운 풍속을 따라 점점 더 야훼께 반역하며 야훼께서 거룩하게 당신의 것으로 삼으신 예루살렘 성전을 더럽혔다.	Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the Lord which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
15	그들의 선조들의 하느님 야훼께서는 당신의 백성과 당신께서 계실 그 곳을 구원하실 뜻으로 특사들을 다시금 보내어 경고하셨다.	And the Lord God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16	그러나 사람들은 하느님의 특사들을 조롱하였다. 그의 말이면 무조건 비웃었다. 보내신 예언자들을 놀림감으로 삼았다. 그러다가 마침내 야훼로 하여금 돌이킬 수 없는 분노를 터뜨리시게 하고 말았다.	But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
17	그래서 야훼께서 바빌론 왕을 끌어들이시니, 바빌론 왕은 성소에서 장정들을 칼로 쳐죽였다. 그는 장정, 처녀, 늙은이, 약자 할 것 없이 모조리 쳐죽였다. 하느님께서 모든 사람을 그의 손에 부치셨던 것이다.	Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.
18	그는 하느님의 성전 그릇들을 크건 작건 간에 모두 쓸어가고 야훼의 성전 창고와 왕궁 창고를 털어갔으며 대신들도 바빌론으로 모두 붙잡아 갔다.	And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.
19	하느님의 성전을 불살랐고 예루살렘 성을 허물었으며 궁궐들을 불살라 버리고 거기에 있던 값진 것을 모조리 부수어버렸다.	And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.
20	느부갓네살은 칼에 맞아 죽지 않고 살아 남은 자들을 바빌론으로 붙잡아다가 페르시아 시대가 되기까지 대대로 종으로 부렸다.	And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21	이리하여 이 땅은 긴 세월 동안 황폐되어, 밀렸던 안식을 다 찾아 누리며 칠십 년을 채우리라고, 야훼께서 예레미야를 시켜 하신 말씀이 그대로 이루어졌다.	To fulfil the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
22	페르시아 왕 고레스의 칙령 페르시아 황제 고레스 제일년이었다. 야훼께서는 일찍이 예레미야를 시켜 하신 말씀을 이루시려고 페르시아 황제 고레스의 마음을 움직이셨다. 그래서 고레스는 아래와 같은 칙령을 내리고 그것을 적은 칙서를 전국에 돌렸다.	Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
23	"페르시아 황제 고레스의 칙령이다. 하늘을 내신 하느님 야훼께서는 세상 모든 나라를 나에게 맡기셨다. 그리고 유다 나라 예루살렘에 당신의 성전을 지을 임무를 나에게 지워주셨다. 그 하느님 야훼께서 너희 가운데 있는 당신의 모든 백성과 함께 하시기를 빈다. 누구든지 원하는 자는 돌아가라."	Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.
