1	므나쎄 므나쎄는 십이 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 오십오 년간 다스렸다.	Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
2	그는 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 그릇된 정치를 폈다. 야훼께서 이스라엘 백성 면전에서 쫓아낸 민족들의 역겨운 풍속을 따라,	But did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
3	부왕 히즈키야가 허물어버린 산당들을 다시 세웠고 바알 제단을 쌓았으며 아세라 목상을 만들었고 하늘의 별들을 절하여 섬겼다.	For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
4	그는 야훼께서 영원히 당신 것으로 삼겠다고 하신 예루살렘에 있는 야훼의 성전에도 제단들을 쌓았다.	Also he built altars in the house of the Lord, whereof the Lord had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
5	그는 야훼의 성전 안팎 뜰 안에 하늘의 별들을 섬기는 제단들을 쌓았다.	And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.
6	또 왕자들은 벤힌놈 골짜기에서 불에 살라 바칠 뿐 아니라 점쟁이와 술객과 마술사를 두었고 혼백을 불러내는 무당과 박수를 두었다. 이렇게 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 많이 하여 야훼의 속을 썩여드렸다.	And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
7	또 그는 우상들을 만들어 하느님의 성전 안에 세웠다. 이 성전을 두고 야훼께서는 일찍이 다윗과 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 이렇게 말씀하셨던 것이다. "이 성전, 이스라엘 온 지파들 가운데서 선택한 이 예루살렘에 영원히 나의 이름을 둔다.	And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
8	너희의 선조들에게 떼어준 땅에서 이스라엘을 다시는 몰아내지 않으리라. 그 대신 내가 모세를 시켜 지시한 모든 법, 그 규정과 법령만은 지켜야 한다."	Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
9	그러나 므나쎄는 유다 백성과 예루살렘 시민을 그릇 인도하여 저희로 하여금 이스라엘 백성 앞에서 야훼께 망한 민족들보다도 더욱 악해지게 하였다.	So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.
10	야훼께서는 므나쎄와 그의 백성을 꾸짖으셨다. 그러나 므나쎄와 그의 백성이 그 말씀을 들으려고 하지 않자,	And the Lord spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
11	야훼께서는 아시리아 왕의 군대를 끌어들이셨다. 아시리아 군 장교들은 므나쎄를 갈고리로 끌어내어 놋사슬로 묶어 바빌론으로 데리고 갔다.	Wherefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
12	이렇게 곤경에 빠지자 므나쎄는 자기의 하느님 야훼께 빌었다. 선조들의 하느님 앞에 굴복하고	And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
13	빌었다. 그러자 야훼께서는 마음이 움직이시어 그의 애원을 들어주시고 예루살렘으로 돌아와 다시 왕위에 앉게 해주셨다. 므나쎄는 그제야 야훼야말로 하느님이심을 알게 되었다.	And prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord he was God.
14	이런 일이 있은 뒤에 그는 기혼 서쪽 골짜기에다가, 다윗 성 물고기문에 이르기까지 외곽성을 쌓아올렸다. 오벨 밖으로 돌아가며 성을 아주 높이 쌓아올렸고 유다의 요새화된 성마다 군대와 장군을 배치하였다.	Now after this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in at the fish gate, and compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah.
15	그리고 외국의 신상들을 치워 없애버렸다. 야훼의 성전에 있던 우상을 떼어내고 야훼의 성전 언덕과 그 밖에 예루살렘에 세웠던 제단들을 허물어 성 밖에 내다 버렸으며	And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the Lord, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.
16	야훼의 제단을 세운 다음 그 위에다 친교제물과 감사제물을 바치고 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼를 예배하라고 유다인들에게 일렀다.	And he repaired the altar of the Lord, and sacrificed thereon peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel.
17	그러나 백성은 저희 하느님 야훼께 바친다고 하면서도 계속 산당에서 제사를 드렸다.	Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, yet unto the Lord their God only.
18	므나쎄의 나머지 역사와 그의 하느님 야훼께 드린 기도와 선견자들이 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼의 이름으로 말한 내용은 이스라엘 왕조실록에 모두 기록되어 있다.	Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spake to him in the name of the Lord God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.
19	또 그가 기도를 올려 하느님의 마음이 움직이셨던 일, 하느님께 굴복하기 전에 하느님께 반역하며 어떤 못할 짓을 하였는지, 어디에 산당들을 세우고 아세라 목상 등 우상들을 세웠는지, 그 모든 일이 선견자들의 역사서에 기록되어 있다.	His prayer also, and how God was intreated of him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.
20	므나쎄는 세상을 떠나 자기 궁궐의 정원에 묻혔으며 그의 아들 아몬이 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.	So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
21	아몬 아몬은 이십이 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 이 년간 다스렸다.	Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.
22	그는 부왕 므나쎄의 본을 따라 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 하였다. 아몬은 부왕 므나쎄가 만든 우상들 앞에 제물을 바치며 그 우상들을 섬겼다.	But he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed unto all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;
23	부왕 므나쎄는 그래도 야훼 앞에 굴복하였지만 아몬은 굴복하지 않았다. 그만큼 그는 죄가 많았다.	And humbled not himself before the Lord, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
24	그는 신하들의 반란으로 자기 궁궐에서 맞아죽었다.	And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.
25	그러나 지방민들이 아몬 왕에게 반란을 일으킨 자들을 모두 쳐죽이고 왕자 요시야를 왕으로 모셔 대를 잇게 하였다.	But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
