1	므나쎄 지파의 경계 므나쎄는 요셉의 맏아들이기 때문에 그 지파에게도 몫이 돌아갔다. 므나쎄의 큰아들이자 길르앗의 조상인 마길은 용사였으므로 그 상으로 길르앗과 바산 지역을 받았다.	There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
2	므나쎄의 나머지 아들들도 갈래를 따라 받을 몫이 있었다. 아비에젤 후손, 헬렉 후손, 아스리엘 후손, 세겜 후손, 헤벨 후손, 스미다 후손, 이들이 요셉의 아들, 므나쎄의 남자 후손 갈래이다.	There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
3	므나쎄의 아들 마길에게서 길르앗이 태어났고, 길르앗의 아들 헤벨에게서 슬롭핫이 태어났는데 슬롭핫은 아들이 없고 딸뿐이었다. 그 딸들의 이름은 마흘라, 노아, 호글라, 밀가, 디르사였다.	But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
4	이들이 사제 엘르아잘과 눈의 아들 여호수아와 대표자들에게 와서 청원하였다. "야훼께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 우리 일가들과 같이 우리에게도 유산을 주십시오." 야훼의 명령대로 그들의 아버지의 근친과 함께 그들에게도 유산이 돌아갔다.	And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The Lord commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the Lord he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
5	이렇게 하여 므나쎄에게는 요르단 강 건너편에 있는 길르앗과 바산 지역 외에도 열 몫이 더 돌아갔다.	And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;
6	므나쎄의 딸들이 아들들과 마찬가지로 유산을 받았기 때문이다. 길르앗 지역은 므나쎄의 나머지 후손의 차지가 되었다.	Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh’s sons had the land of Gilead.
7	므나쎄의 영토는 아셀에서 세겜 맞은편 믹므닷에 이르는데 그 경계는 거기에서 남쪽으로 엔다부아 주민들이 있는 곳으로 내려간다.	And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of En–tappuah.
8	다부아 지방은 므나쎄의 차지였다. 그런데 므나쎄 경계선 가까이에 있는 다부아는 에브라임 후손에게 넘어갔다.	Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;
9	그 경계는 다시 가나 골짜기를 끼고 내려간다. 골짜기 남쪽에 있던 므나쎄 성들 사이에 에브라임 성들도 있었다. 그러나 므나쎄의 영토는 골짜기 북쪽인데 그 경계는 바다로 빠진다.	And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
10	남쪽에 에브라임을 끼고 므나쎄는 북쪽에 자리잡고 있는데 바다가 그 경계선을 이룬다. 그리고 북쪽으로는 아셀과 접경하고 동쪽으로는 이싸갈과 접경한다.	Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
11	므나쎄가 이싸갈과 아셀 지역 안에서 차지한 것이 있는데, 그것은 벳스안과 거기 딸린 촌락들, 이블르암과 거기 딸린 촌락들, 도르의 주민과 거기 딸린 촌락들, 엔도르 주민과 거기 딸린 촌락들, 다아낙 주민과 거기 딸린 촌락들, 므기또 주민과 거기 딸린 촌락들, 그리고 네벳의 삼분의 일이다.	And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth–shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
12	므나쎄 후손은 이 마을들을 점령하지 못했다. 그래서 가나안 사람들이 그대로 그 땅에 살고 있었다.	Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
13	그러나 이스라엘 자손들은 차츰 강해지면서 가나안 사람들을 몰아내지 않고 노동을 시켰다.	Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.
14	요셉 후손이 여호수아에게 이렇게 물었다. "우리가 야훼께 복을 받아 이렇게 많은 무리를 이루었는데 어째서 우리에게 당신의 유산을 겨우 한몫만 떼어주십니까?"	And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the Lord hath blessed me hitherto?
15	여호수아가 대답하였다. "너희가 그렇게 많은 무리를 이루었으니, 숲이 있는 곳으로 올라가 개간하여라. 그 곳은 브리즈 사람과 르바임 사람의 땅이다. 에브라임 산악 지대는 너희들에게 정말 좁겠구나."	And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
16	요셉의 후손이 대답하였다. "그 산악 지대만 가지고는 안 됩니다. 게다가 그 계곡 지역에 사는 가나안 사람들, 벳스안과 거기 딸린 촌락과 이즈르엘 계곡에 사는 사람들은 철병거를 갖고 있습니다."	And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth–shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
17	여호수아가 요셉 가문인 에브라임과 므나쎄 지파에게 일렀다. "너희는 사람도 많고 또 힘도 세다. 비록 한몫밖에는 돌아가지 않는다 하더라도,	And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
18	그 곳은 숲이 있는 산악 지대이니 개간하여 가져라. 가나안 사람들은 철병거가 있고 강력해서 쫓아내지 못할 터이니 산악 지대가 끝나는 곳까지 차지하여라."	But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
